02/11/2025: The atmosphere was very nice, but when it came to service and food, which should be the foundation of a trattoria/restaurant, it wasn't good at all! The cooked chestnuts arrived literally burned, both inside and out, and the first courses were less than delicious. We had tagliolini with pumpkin, speck, and salted ricotta (the tagliolini were stuck together, they wouldn't come apart and seemed almost overcooked, the ricotta was just a dusting, the pumpkin had no flavor, more like a sauce, and the speck was nonexistent and of poor quality). There were 15 of us: for a central appetizer, two half portions of pasta, and a coffee, we spent €32 per person.

03/11/2025: We had the pasta fritters as an appetizer, which were truly delicious. The first courses were plentiful and very tasty (with gluten-free pasta options available). The wild boar stew was very good, even though it's off the menu. All in all, it's an excellent Roman osteria, with excellent value.

23/11/2025: It's located at the end of the main street, right across from the Abbey of San Nilo. Upon entering, you're greeted with a pleasant impression: the place is beautiful and welcoming. The Christmas decorations are also lovely. There's a wide selection of first courses, all very good and plentiful. The second courses are less impressive, but the side dishes, especially the artichokes, are highly recommended. Overall, I'll be back and recommend it if you're in the area.

23/11/2025: There's no point looking for anything else: this is the perfect place, in the perfect location, with the perfect food. Stop, you don't need anything else...and if you've come to Grottaferrata to visit the Abbey of San Nilo (there really isn't anything else to visit, Ed.), know that it's right across the street, and the large free parking lot is just a hundred meters away. But first things first...it's Sunday, lunchtime, and we hadn't booked...we're in the Castelli area, so we'll find a table...not a chance. After a few refusals, we enter, feeling rather disheartened, and not only are we greeted with a smiling "You're welcome!" but we're led in search of a table in a stunning location that left me speechless. Spread across multiple levels, this beautiful restaurant (also known as a pizzeria, thanks to an efficient wood-fired oven) has spacious rooms and an outdoor area with a pergola that's undoubtedly popular in the summer. The main entrance is on Via di San Nilo, almost opposite the Abbey, but you can also enter from the side, through the outdoor area, directly in front of the cash register and the kitchen. A maze of steps makes this place resemble a medieval village, with large arches and tuff walls. Everything is intimate, with attention to detail, and a tasteful Christmassy decor. The menu? A simple sheet of paper summarizes the entire selection (yay, let's simplify), and the wine list is separate. Traditional local dishes made with local ingredients, a good selection, and moderate prices. What's surprising is the quantity: generous portions of beautifully presented and exquisitely flavorful dishes, with distinct flavors. Nothing is left to chance. Gnocchi with truffles and porcini mushrooms, sliced ​​beef, lamb chops, roast suckling pig, puntarelle and Roman-style artichokes, and finally, pistachio tiramisu and berry crumble cake. Even the coffee is delicious. The bill? Reasonable...but the place is so comfortable and the food so good that, frankly, you don't even care how much you spend. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing, thanks in part to the warm lighting and the separation between the various rooms. An excellent experience that I'm happy to share and recommend with all my heart. The only flaw is their great asset: generous portions, so if you're a light eater, choose somewhere else. Very chaotic, but the atmosphere isn't bad (except for the person at the entrance who greets you, who's all scribbled up from head to toe, which doesn't make a great impression in a high-end restaurant, that doesn't happen downtown). We weren't satisfied with the food. We asked for two bruschettas, and they basically delivered pappa al pomodoro with soggy bread, not crispy toast. I pointed this out, and the only response was "sorry," when in reality they should have made it again. The menu says "supplì" are crispy and stringy. They were neither, soggy and the sauce was bland. The pizzas were average; honestly, I've had better; in fact, they were a bit heavy to digest. The price was too high. Now, I don't want to recommend or discourage them, as is usual. Personally, I won't go back. Be careful about saying something's wrong with the food; they're touchy. If you read carefully, I wrote that we could talk, not that his customers had to be quiet. My Italian comprehension is zero. Just so you know... They brought me in otherwise I would never have come and I'm happy not to return. I'll give you some advice too: if you always want to feel good, good, everything's good, since he only responds to negative comments, change your job because mistakes happen to everyone, and evenings don't either. I only told the truth about what I ate; if it bothers you, that's your problem. He could have just as easily said, "We'll try to improve."
