25/01/2026: A pleasant surprise in the Crema countryside. We ordered the saffron cream with endive and shrimp as an appetizer: sublime! The slow-cooked egg with truffle was truly delicious. Next up were the Caramelle, delicious, and the salmon with puntarelle, excellent! We also enjoyed the dessert: hazelnut semifreddo, which with bits of brittle was truly delicious. (The "narrated" dessert list, being a bit descriptive, gets lost at the end of the story. Perhaps it's worth printing it so the waitress doesn't have to repeat it over and over again :-) An excellent restaurant. The 4 stars are for the ambiance simply because it's not to my taste, but it's modern and well-kept. I must say everything is excellent! Excellent value. We'll definitely be back.

14/04/2026: Came by for takeaway for our last night in Sicily. The owner, Dario, helped us and we had to wonderfully delicious works of art in a short time. It was delightful conversing with Dario, albeit through Google Translate, but the wait time melted away like a forgotten memory and it was time to eat. He even recommended a wine shop, where we were able to secure an excellent local wine for dinner. Thanks again for our memorable last dinner in Sicily!

06/04/2026: Last night, returning from two days in Umbria over the Easter weekend, the four of us found ourselves enjoying one of those experiences that came about completely by chance... but are hard to forget. After a beautiful bike ride along the Spoleto-Norcia stretch, during our sandwich stop, we realized something rather obvious: finding a restaurant open for Easter dinner without a reservation would be a feat. In fact, after calling at least 15 restaurants—all open only for lunch—we had one last option: La Primula. We didn't look at reviews, we had no expectations. I called. On the other end, a shrill voice said, "Sure, I have room for four, I'll see you this evening!" And so, almost on a bet, we decided to go. We arrived in front of the restaurant and, I have to be honest, our impressions were mixed: from the outside, it didn't even look like a restaurant. But as soon as we stepped inside, we found ourselves in a timeless, authentic, almost suspended environment. Carlo welcomed us. He leads us to the table, and we look around: few people, a quiet atmosphere. Then the menu arrives, written in pen on a sheet of straw paper... and then something changes. Because then Carlo arrives, and magic happens. An incredible character, one of those who seem to have stepped out of a novel. One of those you have to choose to believe in to be transported by his stories: the life of a shepherd, the life in the inns, experiences, stories, pieces of life that intertwine with what arrives on the plate. And in the dishes, there's all this. Behind the stove is his partner, a woman you wouldn't expect at first glance, but who actually has expert hands, like those of true old-fashioned cooking. A mastery reminiscent of that of grandmothers, made of confident gestures, experience, and a love for what she prepares. Authentic cuisine, without frills, direct. Portions like you don't see anymore. Real flavors, which Carlo describes with such passion that they become even more delicious. A place frozen in a different time, far from the frenzy of everyday life. We'll definitely be back. Because more than a dinner, it was an experience. And because a little bit of Carlo... stays with you.

06/04/2026: The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Carlo takes you inside and explains everything about every product he serves (all of his own production). A family-run business that makes you feel at home. We were offered a homemade amaro (also homemade) and a complimentary bottle of water. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to eat well and feel at home.

The homemade breads are among the best we've ever tasted, as are the fried meatballs, simple yet perfect. The artichoke puree and crispy crumble, enriched with a high-quality olive oil, are also excellent. The sagne torte with free-range rooster ragù deserves a special mention: handmade pasta and authentic flavors. The beef tartare is fresh and well-balanced. The absolute highlight is the steak: over 1200 grams, presented and prepared in front of the guests, cooked to perfection and accompanied by a selection of salts that further enhance the meat. Impeccable service and an extremely kind and helpful owner. Highly recommended for those seeking Salento tradition with an innovative twist.

07/04/2026: We dined here on Easter Monday. We only realized afterwards that many families would be eating in the restaurant on Easter Monday, rather than in the evening. We had reserved in advance for the evening. Despite the fact that Antonio and his team had been busy all afternoon, they still took the trouble to welcome us. We were the only guests and were spoiled culinarily with homemade bread, focaccia, and a delicious amuse-bouche featuring very tasty aubergine with a lovely, firm texture. The spaghetti al noci was top-notch, as were the osso buco and the lamb shanks, all enjoyed with a glass of red wine from Manduria. We declined dessert. We almost didn't get them because of the long queue, but don't worry: the service is incredibly fast, and you can even watch the staff preparing the pizzas right there. The crust is very light, and the ingredients are simple but high quality. Definitely an excellent takeaway option in Verona.
