28/11/2025: Good place! There is also a menu card in Hungarian. Average prices. We tested pizzas and pasta. Huge portions! The pasta is brought out in a large pan, very plentiful! Comfortable booths, separate seating areas.

31/01/2026: Change of name and management. Al Portego is now the Opera. The website and web links need updating. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere, but I'd remove the music. The quality could be improved; around here you can find more variety and better quality fish. And the fish has to be caught. Salmon in a Venetian barbecue is probably not a good idea. It needs to be revisited.

25/12/2025: A business dinner brought several dishes, but almost all of them were subpar: cold mussels, fried food with lots of vegetables and little fish, the rest questionable. Paid €75 per person. I think fewer dishes but higher quality. The menu was chosen by the restaurant. The wine was on tap, and not much, since some of the guests didn't drink it, so I think the price was a bit high. 03/02/2026: I can only speak about the restaurant itself. The location is exceptionally beautiful, the food is good and expensive, and we always enjoyed coming here. That's why we made a reservation months in advance for my milestone birthday in the summer. We exchanged several emails confirming that a particularly lovely table would be set for us, right by the water. When we arrived, however, the staff was very unfriendly – ​​they claimed the restaurant was full and we hadn't made a reservation, nor had they arranged parking for us; it was our fault. Only after a snarky exchange and me showing them the emails did they finally get a table and, with gritted teeth, squeeze us in somewhere in the back among others. The service was also inattentive. They made us feel like we should pay quickly and leave. The food was mediocre; it used to be better. It completely ruined my birthday. It's certainly not a bad restaurant, but unfortunately, I won't be going back. Of course, forgetting things can happen, but to be treated like that as a paying customer is unacceptable.

15/09/2025: We visited the restaurant, which is beautifully situated and well-developed on the lagoon. Surprisingly, a reservation wasn't necessary, which we were very pleased about. Occasionally, a ferry docks at the pier right next door. There's a large paid parking lot. A beautiful sunset is a specialty here. Freshly caught fish is relatively expensive at €100 per kg. This also applies to starters and main courses, which are good but nothing exceptional. The service was very friendly but relatively clueless when it came to wine recommendations. Overall, it was good, but the value for money is better at many other restaurants nearby.

30/12/2025: Very nice, intimate, and welcoming place! The owner is truly friendly and generous with advice. The fish appetizer was delicious, followed by squid in ink on a bed of excellent white polenta. Well done, we'll definitely remember and return!

20/11/2025: An intimate atmosphere, almost a secret treat, with traditional cuisine but with a contemporary feel. Family-run. The atmosphere makes for a serene yet elegant yet unpretentious treat. Even the staff are part of this special place, a hidden gem.

15/10/2025: TL;DR: It's fine for a night or two. Very convenient location by the sea and parking available. The rooms are a bit dated, but for the price (50 a night for two), it's more than adequate. The only downside is the shower in front of the toilet, but for the price, you're happy with it. Also, the breakfast buffet (included) was plentiful and of much higher quality than we expected given the price per night.

17/09/2025: The hotel is dated but clean. The breakfast is plentiful, both sweet and savory. The staff is very attentive to your every need. The price is fair considering that parking and the beach are included. It is also located near the square, and there are plenty of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, and shops of all kinds to choose from.

01/02/2026: Four of us had lunch today at this lovely restaurant, quite small with about 30 seats. We immediately noticed that the service was a bit slow: from the time they brought us the menus to the time they took our orders, it was quite a long wait; the wait for the dishes proved to be long as well. We ordered two appetizers, four spaghetti with clams, and a bottle of extra dry Prosecco. They brought us a bottle of Brut, asking us to try it, as it was a very good Prosecco and not as dry as the Brut, but more like a dry one. Perplexed, I asked if the Extra Dry was out, but they told me it wasn't out, that we had to go get it elsewhere, and that they were simply offering us a different wine to save us any more time. The mussels with pepper sauce had a very salty sauce, while the spaghetti with clams lacked salt and pepper. The tiramisu had a delicious cream, but the ladyfingers hadn't been soaked in coffee. A lunch that could have been perfect, but unfortunately, it wasn't. Add to that the incredibly long service, and I honestly wouldn't return.

11/05/2025: Posticino un po imboscato in una stradina laterale del centro storico di Mestre. Locale abbastanza grande e ottimo servizio. Abbiamo mangiato dei buonissimi cicchetti veneziani e un piatto di bigoli interessante

06/05/2025: Se le aconsejó que buscara Trattoria para probar la comida local. Estábamos en la zona y encontramos este restaurante que estaba escondido lejos de la zona principal. Tenían menú en inglés con chef y recomendaciones más populares. El aperitivo del perro de mar y la mejilla de ternera guisada. El plato de la calle 1 era un plato de muestras que era muy bueno en términos de sabor y oportunidad de saborear una variedad de aperitivos locales. La mejilla de ternera estaba muy tierna. La salsa usada era un poco pesada para los tomates, pero supongo que así les gusta a los italianos.
