17/04/2026: L'Ostricaio in Livorno is one of those places that lingers, especially for its atmosphere. It's a small "shack" on the sea, with a cozy dining room but a truly spectacular view: the real highlight is the panorama. The menu is simple but focused on seafood. I remember the delicious tagliolini with sea urchin, although not always available. The fried fish is excellent, and the raw fish is also good; oysters, in particular, are one of the house specialties. The wine selection is also good. In high season, it can get quite hot, especially during the hours of full sun, but it's still worth it. It's one of those places you have to go at least once: almost a must for anyone in the area.

12/04/2026: I booked a specific table two months ago with a recommendation and a request that they reserve it for me. I asked for confirmation three weeks ago. It was supposed to be a surprise/gift for our wedding anniversary. I arrive at the restaurant They ask me if I had booked. I obviously say yes. Everyone tells me they're happy they reserved the table for me. It wasn't that one. Moreover, in a completely different part of the restaurant. I point this out... No point. The table I chose was already occupied by other people. They tell me I can always wait for it to become available... You understand... Waiting for a reserved table 🤣🤣🤣.... Moreover, they had just arrived. Total disappointment. Incompetent. They ruined my anniversary. If I had known, I wouldn't have booked months in advance.... Gnocchi with lupini beans and sand. Half of them remain on the plate. They clear the table without asking for explanations... Hmm. We pay and they're careful not to ask, "Is everything okay?" They charge me for a dessert I'd canceled. Now paid for. That's why one star for each category. Unfortunately, it's the lowest I can get. But they'll never see us again, and I'll strongly advise against it to anyone I have the chance to talk to about it.

30/08/2025: A pleasant restaurant, with well-prepared dishes, although the portions are, in my opinion, modest. The service staff was helpful and friendly. The prices, however, are above average, and in my opinion not justified by either the location or the dishes.

03/11/2025: The restaurant is very nice, but unfortunately the service didn't really understand us. Neither English nor German. The courses were mixed up, and one of our main courses was forgotten; the server had to ask again. Overall, the food was good. We had the feeling they were overwhelmed with 10 people. The value for money wasn't great either, considering what we received.

29/09/2025: We asked for a table for three. They didn't listen to us and reserved one for two. When we arrived, we asked for a table inside because it was cold and were told there weren't any. We told them we'd seen them, and they moved us to one inside. The entire meal was brought to us cold, and it was the worst entrecote I've ever eaten. We won't be back.

22/09/2025: Great pizza! The takeout was ready in 10 minutes, a record! There's just too much white light inside; perhaps it would be better to replace it with off-white yellow lights for the sphere...

28/09/2025: The service is exceptional, and the restaurant has a very atmospheric décor and a view of the harbor. The tuna steak in sesame breading is delicious, and the salads and other dishes are also very tasty. If you're craving Mediterranean cuisine, it's worth a visit.

26/09/2025: Beautiful restaurant in the winding streets of Capoliveri. Great interior, it's almost like sitting in grandma's kitchen. Dining here is definitely a feast for the eyes. The delicious dishes are prepared and served with love. They also serve excellent wines. In our opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Capoliveri. Reservations recommended.

06/02/2026: Personnel arrogant, other prestations médiocres, dommage, the endroit is beautiful quoique trop couru en period de vacances 2025: unfortunately still unfriendly, mediocre and overpriced. No wonder, since the incompetent operators were only able to get in there through their connections... 2025: purtroppo ancora poco amichevole, mediocre e troppo costoso. Not that it's stupid, you see that the incompetent operators are just entering the world into contact...

12/12/2025: A young man who's worked hard (as we Tuscans say) and has turned his passion into a landmark restaurant. Ask him to explain the dishes and you'll be thrilled with his preparation; you can tell he really cares. For those who complain about the high prices, I'll give you an example: "In Marina di Vecchiano, two take-out beers are 12 euros." Are you on Elba in a fantastic seaside location and want to spend a fortune? Wouldn't it be better to stay home? Service, location, staff, food quality, and amenities all come at a price. Whether it's lunch, an aperitif, a snack, or dinner, you're in the right place; try it and believe it. Well done, Thomas (and all the staff, of course), keep it up.

04/11/2025: Superb service, delicious food, and breathtaking sea views. We were here in the summer and often enjoyed a light lunch with a stunning sea view. The Insalata Ponente was our favorite. The service was first-class. The coffee afterwards was delicious. We also had coffee to go a few times right on the beach. You can only get that here. For us, THE best spot on Elba. The prices are fair and the quality is good. It's worth taking a look at the menu. Just try everything! ;-)

17/09/2025: Excellent location on the seafront. A quiet setting where you can enjoy lunch or dinner by the sea, very professional and courteous service, and very unique and elaborate dishes, but in my opinion, they don't capture the typical Elban flavors of the area.

08/03/2026: Dishes cooked with care and passion. We had a delicious hot seafood appetizer, very fresh and delicious tagliatelle with cicadas, and an excellent grilled fish. I highly recommend this place; we'll definitely be back.

18/03/2026: THEY'LL NEVER SEE US AGAIN!!! The owner was kind and very polite, and the pizza was good. These are the two reasons I wanted to go there to celebrate my 60th birthday. However, we found a waitress who was rude, arrogant, hasty, and quarrelsome.....like, "move, you're bothering me." The service started badly and ended even worse....to call it scandalous is an understatement!!!! The owner apologized for the rude and arrogant waitress's behavior, adding that she had been drinking! If that were the case, he should have permanently removed her from his establishment! Because someone like that shouldn't be waiting tables or being in close contact with customers, but hiding in the kitchen washing dishes. When you go to spend a couple of carefree hours, finding a waitress like that, who should be doing something else in life, scares customers away and never makes them return, and it's terrible publicity for the establishment. In any case, the owner is also responsible, because he shouldn't have allowed someone like that to be in the workforce. There were 18 of us and most of them were coming to this pizzeria for the first time.

18/03/2026: "Food isn't enough if the service is poor. We were served by an extremely impatient and rude person, who ruined the atmosphere of the evening. A real shame." The waitress was rude, both verbally and physically. It was a situation bordering on absurd, all of this for no reason.

30/07/2025: A terrible evening (unfortunately, in almost every way). Three friends and I booked dinner at this restaurant in Cecina, known for its renowned pinsa al metro. Before moving on to the many negatives, I can confirm that the product is high-quality, digestible, and very good. However... the "buts" are too many, too serious, and they'll make me never return. First, when booking, I made sure to ask if there was air conditioning, and to my great disappointment, I found the place rather stuffy (light air conditioning, almost nonexistent). That said, they seat us, and the waitress shows up to take our order only 15 minutes later (imagine 15 minutes in 35°C weather without even a glass of water). We order a total of 3.5 meters of pinsa, of which 1 meter is reserved exclusively for one of the lactose-intolerant diners. I make sure to ask that he arrive at the same time (or before) the first pizzas, as otherwise he wouldn't have been able to "taste" a slice of ours. Of course, his pizza arrives, not only 45 minutes after the others, but one side of it has mozzarella. That should be enough, right? And instead, the beer (14 euros for Menabrea) is presented in a very sad carafe and clearly and heavily watered down: undrinkable. Finally, when it was time for coffee, the waitress decided to bring not 4 (as requested), but only 1. The other 3 arrived only after another 10 minutes. Overall result: 2 hours of dinner in unbearably hot weather 1 diner hungry, or almost 30 euros per person, without even the courtesy of removing the portion of pizza the lactose-intolerant customer hadn't touched. Never, never, never again (despite the pinsa, alas, excellent).

13/07/2025: Serata terribile (purtroppo, sotto tutti i punti di vista o quasi) Io ed altri tre amici prenotiamo per cena in questo locale di Cecina noto per la sua rinomata pinsa al metro. Prima di passare alle molteplici note dolenti, confermo che il prodotto sia di alta qualità, digeribile e molto buono. Però... i però sono troppi, troppo gravi e mi spingono a non tornarvi più. In primo luogo, al momento della prenotazione mi sono premurato di chiedere se vi fosse l'aria condizionata e, con mia somma delusione, ho trovato un locale piuttosto afoso (aria condizionata leggera quasi inesistente). Ciò detto, ci fanno accomodare e la cameriera si presenta a prendere l'ordine solo dopo 15' (immaginate 15' con 35° senza nemmeno un bicchiere d'acqua) Ordiniamo, complessivamente 3 mt e mezzo di pinsa, di cui 1 destinato esclusivamente ad uno solo dei commensali intollerante al lattosio, alché mi premuro di chiedere che quest'ultimo giunga contemporaneamente (ovvero antecedentemente) alle prime pizze in uscita, in quanto, in difetto, egli non avrebbe potuto 'assaggiare' una fetta delle nostre. Ovviamente, la sua pizza giunge, non solo dopo 45' dall'arrivo delle altre, ma una parte della stessa presenta della mozzarella. Basterebbe questo, no? E, invece, la birra (14 euro di menabrea) viene presentata in una tristissima caraffa e palesemente e pesantemente annacquata: imbevibile. Infine, al momento del caffè, la cameriera decide apoditticamente di portarne non già 4 (come richiesto), bensì solo 1. Gli altri 3 arriveranno solo dopo ulteriori 10'. Risultato complessivo: 2 ore di cena con un'afa insopportabile 1 commensale digiuno o quasi 30 euro a persona senza nemmeno la cortesia di espungere la parte di pizza nemmeno toccata dal cliente intollerante al lattosio. Mai, mai, mai più (nonostante la pinsa, ahimè, eccellente)

25/03/2026: I recommend In Caciaia for its traditional menu. The stuffed mussels and fried fish are excellent. The service is adequate. I can't wait to return, perhaps to eat outside on the beautiful terrace.
