20/04/2025: Stumbled upon it by chance because we wanted to have a drink. Received delicious wine and also saw the food on offer. Then reserved for dinner. We weren't disappointed. The starter plate is a poem, as are the spaghetti with artichokes and the polpette. Very friendly service, uncomplicated when it came to my companion's special request, nice ambience and excellent wines. Price-performance ratio is very good. We were completely satisfied and would come back at any time! Thanks for the lovely evening!

12/04/2025: Pretty mediocre antipasto, some of it still cold in the middle after a trip from the freezer to the deep fryer. Crudo also had ups and downs - anchovies and prawns quite nice, sea bass definitely not the freshest.

04/05/2025: Nice experience, very kind waiters, quality food... Delicious pasta with sardines, also the grilled fish... all fresh and plentiful!! Average prices... Worth a visit if you are in the area!!

26/04/2025: Advised!!!! We stopped by chance, and luckily I might add. A delicious lunch, delicious grouper ravioli, well balanced. My husband had spaghetti with sea urchins, they were sublime. The second time we ordered swordfish skewers, I would have gladly ordered an encore. Soft, the filling felt great. To conclude, the desserts remained faithful to the goodness of the rest of the dishes. Kind and friendly service. Value for money: HONEST.

25/04/2025: Finally in Ortigia we managed to find the right restaurant where we look more at content than form and fresh fish reigns supreme. Very good fish starter, two first courses linguine with clams and linguine with sea urchins, very good. If we return to Ortigia we will return to you Marco and Sabrina

23/04/2025: We wanted a good first course before leaving Ortigia, and we went to the restaurant closest to the Talete car park. We didn't have high expectations and instead we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent linguine with seafood and excellent fettuccine with scampi and cherry tomatoes. Unique dishes, which leave you more than satisfied and invite you to the final dish. Much appreciated and recommended!

22/04/2025: The most expensive store calamari I have ever eaten in my life. 1kg 29 euros. + 150 g of prawn salad for 12 euros. That's 41 euros. In the squid, during cooking, I discovered an unpleasant bonus: sand. These are scammers. They see a tourist and cheat all the way. Don't go to them. Buy better in store. Without sand and 4 times cheaper.

09/04/2025: If it comes out fresh you want to eat from a fountain you have to go, freshness and superior quality attentive and friendly staff in one word fabulous

28/04/2025: Huge disappointment, poor starters with octopus not fresh. Inedible pasta, overcooked and poorly made because in my opinion the cold burrata didn't ruin the dish. Dessert was poorly made, a measly slice I received, coffee was undrinkable Terrible service it seems like the waiters were sleeping soundly.

19/04/2025: We were recommended Macalle by our hotel concierge for a Thursday night dinner. The place was empty at 8p which should have been a sign to back out but we figured we’d give it a shot. The second red flag came when we saw the price tag however we assumed the quality of food and experience would match. Sorry to say we were utterly disappointed. The portions were most alarming. Ortigia was our last stop in our Sicily vacation so we’ve had dozens of wonderful Sicilian meals up to that point and much to compare it to. The dishes were so scant that we could not even offer to share a bite. Some dishes were overly salted while others bland and unimaginative. It was not the meal we wanted to end our trip on but hoping this review will spare others the underwhelming experience.

04/05/2025: Maravilloso restaurante con personal amable. Tanto mi marido como yo pedimos filete y estaba delicioso. Pedí filete con pimientos y el sabor era maravilloso. El bistec estaba tierno. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

01/05/2025: Do NOT come here! It’s a scam for tourists basically. Panini very bad. Orange juice 4 euro when elsewhere is 1-3 and also very bad service. Seat fee also for breakfast and there were smokers inside…and we spent 40 euro in total and card payment is not allowed. Only cash…tbh all other restaurants cafe food booths I visited in Sicily were not like this. This is the only case. The owner said it’s a wrong place but the menu wrote “Arrusti & Mangia” and it seems to be there on the maps. Pls tell me if it’s really the wrong restaurant…we don’t want to give false information.

27/04/2025: Pizza menu with some new things... In contrast to other reviews, my pizza was raw near the edge and unfortunately you could also taste the lack of cooking... maybe a bad evening, I don't know, but it wasn't a very crowded evening. Since I was invited I couldn't do much to highlight what happened.... So I don't recommend it. Very kind staff.
