15/11/2025: Unacceptable Service and Poor Professionalism Our visit to Bar Nazionale this Saturday morning, for a family reunion, was marred by an instance of poor professionalism on the part of a waitress. A relative of mine, originally from Southern Italy, requested a simple coffee served in a glass and received a dismissive response: "What a strange request." Although the customer pointed out that the request was not unusual, the waitress insisted in an arrogant tone, suggesting that coffee in a glass was a custom limited to "her area," demonstrating a complete lack of courtesy. Regardless of who is technically correct, a fundamental principle of customer service is that staff should never argue or argue about a customer's legitimate request, but should instead try to accommodate them. For the record and to inform the staff: drinking coffee in a glass is not an oddity, but a common taste preference. Glass changes the visual experience, the consistency of the crema, and the temperature of the drink compared to ceramic. Glass allows you to admire the coffee, its thick, dense crema, and can promote a more "direct" and immediate tasting sensation. However, it cools faster, while the cup retains heat longer. In short: a very disappointing experience due to inadequate and contentious service.

19/10/2025: From the Modena Apennines, between September, October, and November 2025, we've been and will be in Arzignano. We arrived at Caffè Nazionale by pure chance, and immediately noticed a beautiful atmosphere with wonderful people, both at the outdoor tables and at the bar inside: extremely kind, courteous, polite, friendly, cordial, and extremely helpful; always smiling, which never hurts; in fact, it welcomes and captivates. Currently, we only visit the establishment during brunch hours, and I must say that the menu is well-prepared and appetizing; the items we've ordered have never disappointed. The price... for coffee and other drinks, it's in line with other establishments, while the brunch prices might seem medium-high, but I prefer to describe them as spot-on and in line with the quality of the food served and the service provided. I will continue to visit Caffè Nazionale whenever I'm in the area, hoping to be able to try the Bistro menu as well. Well done, everyone.

19/10/2025: We visited this quaint, family-run restaurant, renowned for its snails. We tried the snail sampling (with tomato sauce, black pepper, vinegar, and gratin) and the ntuppatieddi (a more refined type of snail). All were truly excellent! Also worthy of mention are the spaghetti alla Sebi (fennel and snails) and the trofei with pork sauce. Finally, a special mention goes to the deconstructed cannoli with artisanal sheep's milk ricotta, available only outside of the summer season and among the best we've ever had. We highly recommend it!

25/10/2025: Ok food, but overpriced. At least some items. 6 Euros for a small bowl of nothing but tomatoes? The chicken was really good though.

18/10/2025: We ordered a takeout pizza for Inter's Champions League final against PSG. The restaurant was packed, and there were a river of customers rushing back to watch the second half of the match on the giant screen outside. After seven minutes, we left with our hot pizzas in hand, just in time to not miss a single minute of the game. The pizza and ingredients were excellent, like few other times, and the service and organization I wish we had in the north. Congratulations!

28/09/2025: I don't usually write reviews, but this place really deserves it. We stumbled upon this truly beautiful and meticulously maintained restaurant on the harbor by chance. We ate really well. As a lover of raw fish, I can honestly say it was truly delicious, and the chef's combinations are truly excellent... even the exquisite desserts. The staff is truly kind, attentive, and always ready to offer excellent service and advice... we had the pleasure of being served by Antonio in particular... in short, you feel truly pampered. Highly recommended!

25/09/2025: A splendid venue nestled in a stunning setting. Dishes are carefully prepared, fresh, and presented with care. The service is courteous, attentive, and organized. Prices are absolutely reasonable (even with a substantial final discount) and coffee is included. They treated us to a wonderful evening!

18/07/2025: Nos encontramos con este restaurante que está en Ortigia, justo al lado de las calles principales pero con vistas al mar. Fue realmente excelente. No turístico. Genuinamente bien cocinado y comida local súper fresca. Me comí el especial de pez espada y mi marido tenía el especial de atún que dijo que era la mejor melodía que había comido. Sobresaliente. Personal encantador y bien informado. Buen Inglés hablado.

10/11/2025: A birthday lunch to forget. The only exception was the courtesy of the server at our table: without batting an eyelid, he recognized that the seafood platter that had arrived at our table was swimming in tomato-colored water and promptly took it back.

22/10/2025: I had dinner at this little restaurant with my mom; it was recommended to us by a very kind local man. We had a wonderful time (the best culinary experience we had in Sicily). Fresh fish, carefully prepared dishes, everything delicious!! Warm and welcoming restaurant. The owner, a young man, was extremely kind, warm, and very "family-like." He left us with wonderful memories. Trust these two restaurateurs... go and try it! 🙂 Hugs, Carolina and Silvia (from the north!!!)

11/10/2025: I went out for dinner in the evening and had the 8-course tasting menu – this review is based on a Michelin-oriented assessment, meaning it focuses on perfection in the cuisine, service, wine pairing, and overall experience. What was good: * The meal overall was very successful. Technically masterful, creative ideas, and a good selection of ingredients. * The "salute to molecular gastronomy" with the olive bursting in the mouth and releasing a very intense flavor was particularly impressive. A moment that added character to the evening. * The service was generally friendly and attentive. There were moments where details were spot on. What was less convincing: * The portions were rather small in places, even for gourmet cuisine. This meant that you didn't always have the opportunity to fully appreciate the flavor of a course in its entirety – which is a shame if you expect many small nuances. * The "hamburger" interpretation of Sicilian dishes: The idea is appealing, but the burger bun was so dominant that it overpowered the other flavors. The balance suffered as a result. Wine Pairing / Sommelier: * One of the bottles of wine in the pairing was almost empty, and only a very small amount was poured. It seemed to us that more should have been poured, but the sommelier never appeared again. Only after asking the waitress did we learn that the originally planned wine was no longer available. The restaurant manager finally intervened and had us served a very delicious replacement wine, which was a positive moment. Unfortunately, we had to explain ourselves three times, which was unnecessarily awkward for such an obvious matter. Overall, the amount of wine poured was relatively small—especially compared to the Duomo in Ragusa. The sommelier barely maintained eye contact, seemed distant, at times uninterested in her own presentation, and somewhat above the guests. Overall, rather unpleasant for a Michelin-starred restaurant—I would have preferred more passion for wine. Perhaps she was having a bad day, which I certainly grant everyone. Compared to Duomo (Ragusa-Ibla, Chef: Ciccio Sultano, a two-Michelin-starred restaurant), the service at Crossificcio falls somewhat short overall. That's not to say Crossificcio is bad—but compared to a restaurant like Duomo, there's still some room for improvement, especially in terms of service and wine pairing. Summary & Rating Crossificcio offers a good to very good tasting menu with some very strong moments, including the molecular greeting. The cuisine is creative and meticulous, but details make the difference at this level: portion size, wine service, personal attention.

03/10/2025: A charming place! We had a seafood tasting, what can I say...it was wonderful, every course was spectacular and surprising. The cod with leek foam has remained in my heart. It's truly a masterpiece of cuisine, compliments to the chef and all the staff. The wine cellar is very extensive, the service top-notch, and the ambience is meticulously designed.

17/09/2025: The menu was very limited, with few dishes to choose from; the marinara risotto also required advance reservations. The seafood spaghetti consisted only of mussels and clams. At 9:30 PM on a Saturday, when we asked for spaghetti with clams, we were told they only had a few and it was better to choose the marinara spaghetti I mentioned above. The mixed fried fish was all fish; they didn't have scampi, calamari, or even shrimp or prawns. The prices for the few dishes available were also quite high; spaghetti with (a few) clams was €22!! Maybe we were unlucky, but we're unlikely to return.

15/09/2025: Simple family-run place, the welcome is just as good as the food.

17/10/2025: It's very much a venue for parties (I.e. birthdays, special occasions etc.) and not a place for which individuals would be adequately looked after. In our experience, not our idea of relaxed dining (on our third visit within a week we were given a table in a corridor where party guests were walking in and out constantly, while (presumably) the lady owner/manager of this place was loudly bartering prices with local punters for future party bookings).

08/10/2025: Food? Fantastic! Staff? Friendly and courteous! You have to slow down your expectations of speed to really enjoy eating out in Sicily.
