Ristorante La Prua In Avola

We had the restaurant recommended to us so we gave it a try. It was disappointing on many fronts. The appetizer that was a sampling of items was poor in many respects, the most import of which was that it just was not the quality and the flavors that we’ve had from other similar dishes at other restaurants in the area. After the appetizer, my husband had a pasta with mixed shellfish, and I had a risotto dish with shrimp. That course was fine, but nothing remarkable. The staff was attentive, they spoke some English, however, were dressed like they came from a casual outing with friends. It was acceptable for our quick casual dinner, but not a place we would return to.

I'd been wanting to try it for a while. I'd heard good things about it, but I have to say I didn't find anything particularly memorable. The menu seems stuck in '90s weddings: shrimp cocktail, octopus salad, swordfish caponata, seafood risotto, smoked salmon... dishes that arrive exactly as you'd expect. The food isn't bad at all, on the contrary. But it lacks that spark, that step towards 2026: something original that makes you choose that dish and makes you want to return because you can't find it anywhere else. It's probably a corporate choice: focusing on reassuring cuisine that guarantees a loyal customer base, accustomed to these flavors, the same ones you can easily find at your local osteria. I'd rather not go into the details of a small incident involving the bill: nothing particularly significant, but I simply hope it will be handled with greater care in the future.

We had an all-fish lunch. The starters, first courses, and desserts were excellent. The grill was delicious. We'll definitely be back to try other menus. Compliments to the staff.

We had a truly excellent evening. The fish was incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. The service was impeccable: all the staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for a quiet dinner, allowing for conversation without noise or confusion. An experience worth repeating.

Superlative dinner that exceeded our every expectation! The restaurant is uniquely elegant, the ambiance and decor are meticulously crafted. The dishes are generous and incredibly delicious! I highly recommend trying the raw fish, indescribably delicious...beautiful looking fish with a unique flavor. It was our first time here, and we'll be back with great pleasure. From the photos, you can see the meticulous attention to detail behind every course and imagine the flavor. The girls who served us were excellent and very professional. Top!!! ❤️

Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff attentive and knowledgeable. The seafood dishes were excellent. The quality/price ratio was good. I highly recommend it.

Excellent food, professional staff, and fast service. They even welcomed our dog. The atmosphere is simple and elegant, though our dining room was a bit cramped. Highly recommended.
