11/03/2026: This was recommended by our hotel concierge as one of her favorite places in the area, and now it has become ours! We visited our first night in town and made it back again for our last. The owner is very friendly and makes it a personal experience. The food was delicious and beautifully plated. Great selection of local wines. We hope to return!

28/01/2026: Fina and Pino are wonderful, they make you feel at home! The dishes are delicious and healthy, the artichoke and shrimp combination is truly spectacular... Not to mention the dessert, figs from their trees with lavender and vanilla... The pomegranate sorbet... Everything was spectacular! We'll definitely be back, thank you for everything!

25/02/2026: ⛔️AVOID THIS RESTAURANT I ordered the Crudo Royal (€30 - Scampi, Fish Carpaccio, Red Prawn, Tuna, Oyster) tonight. Please take a look at the picture to see what I actually received, aside from the quality. Waiting time: 45 minutes (in an empty restaurant!?) Plate check: loads of tiny scampi, tuna, red prawns (without tongs to crack them open), and some kind of white stuff. NO FISH CARPACCIO!!! NO OYSTER!!! On top of that, everything, EVERYTHING, was frozen, thawed (hence the long wait), and then marinated in oil. The poor, pale seafood was cold and slimy. He said it was oil... it was thawed stuff! Incredibly disgusting. I could only wash it down with white wine. I should have sent the plate straight back to the kitchen; this is completely unacceptable!!! Before paying, I wanted to know where the oyster was. I only just noticed the missing fish capaccio. The chef made excuses... nothing was delivered this evening, but he compensated. Compensated with what?! I ordered the most expensive appetizer, and he didn't want me to change my mind, so he decided to simply alter the dish for me. I wasn't asked beforehand, nor was I informed. That's incredibly disrespectful and dishonest. Communication is everything. Regarding the slimy leftovers, he claimed they were marinated. It's a disgrace that such a person is a chef in a restaurant; shame on you!!! I paid the €40 without further discussion, but he more than deserves this bad review. The waitress was only physically present. She never came by to ask if everything was alright, if I wanted another glass of wine. Nothing. A completely bizarre experience. If your health is important to you, please spend your money elsewhere!

25/02/2026: We stopped here on a whim and had a very good meal (mussels, spaghetti carbonara, penne alla Norma). The dishes were not only perfectly prepared but also beautifully presented. We didn't have to wait long. A true professional with a passion for their work is at work here. The server was probably still in training, but very attentive and friendly. However, the clientele was quite small, consisting of only two couples.

20/10/2025: A perfect choice. Exquisite dinner, incredibly fresh fish, perfectly balanced flavors. Francesco entertained us by recommending several dishes. If you're planning to visit this wonderful island, you can't miss this chef's cuisine. Friendly service and reasonable prices. We'll be back!

27/01/2026: I had the pleasure of having lunch at the Macchinera restaurant last Sunday to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday, and it was a truly delightful experience. The restaurant, despite its simplicity, is very welcoming. The dishes are not only high-quality but also plentiful, and the first courses feature a truly rich seafood selection. The staff is also very friendly and always ready to accommodate guests' needs. I also really liked the table layout (there were just over 20 of us, and we were able to chat among ourselves; there were no other people in the dining room). Among the dishes, the prosciutto crudo as a first appetizer deserves a special mention, which I absolutely loved, even though I'm not a big fan of raw fish. Finally, I also found the price to be fair and appropriate for the amount consumed. We'll be back!

08/01/2026: We went for New Year's Eve dinner...and I have to say we were speechless. The menu was à la carte, but every fish dish was delicious! The quality of the fish was excellent, especially the raw fish and the pasta dishes. The best restaurant in Mazara! I recommend it to everyone.

06/10/2025: Gilberto's desserts are guaranteed to tempt you! The hospitality, food, and heavenly setting justify the distance from the port, which is also compensated by the 5-star shuttle service. Maria Tindara gets top marks!

28/09/2025: We just had a unique weekend! As soon as we arrived on Vulcano, we rented the legendary Mehari from Paolo and immediately headed to our peaceful oasis on Vulcano Piano! Maria Tindara is the most authentic place you can find on Vulcano! It's outside the port, true, but it's perfectly located halfway between Gelso and the port! The dinner was spectacular, an explosion of flavors! Save room for the desserts because they are incredible and definitely made with love! Gilberto was attentive to our every need, even recommending a truly unique spot with a breathtaking view of the islands and the crater rim to your left—a spot that rivals the climb up the crater the day before, and definitely less tiring! The rooms are simple and authentic, and in the evening you're only accompanied by the chirping of the cicadas! We'll always come back!

10/03/2026: A family-friendly restaurant with high-quality food and exceptional staff. The owners, a husband and wife team, are always courteous and welcoming. I've been coming here for 14 years now, and their consistent, good work is a testament to their professionalism. The icing on the cake are their homemade liqueurs, perfect for a delicious after-dinner treat. Highly recommended.

08/03/2026: Today, my wife and I had the pleasure of lunch at Trattoria Da Peppino. We ordered the half menu, consisting of appetizers and two first courses. What can I say? The place is well-kept and clean, the staff attentive and always available to answer any questions. The food was excellent. The cashier was an elderly lady, but with an enviable elegance. I'm sure we'll be back. Thank you for everything.

07/02/2026: I called ahead to ask if swordfish was available, and it turned out to be a truly exceptional discovery. The restaurant is located on a quiet street in the center, just outside the ZTL (limited traffic zone): a private and pleasant corner, with an elegant, welcoming atmosphere, meticulously maintained, where you immediately feel at ease. The cuisine was a constant confirmation: the swordfish caponata is simply superb, balanced and refined; the strozzapreti with swordfish is intense and perfectly balanced; the mixed cooked pasta is wow, of great quality and cooked with great care. The wine is also excellent, well-selected and ideal to accompany the dishes. The quality-price ratio is excellent, rare to find at this level. Special mention for the service: impeccable, attentive, and never intrusive. The young woman who welcomed us and looked after us throughout the evening was always smiling, professional, and capable of making the guest feel truly special. A complete experience, one of those that will stay with you forever. Absolutely recommended. Thank you!!! 🙂
