For those who love mussels, you must try the mussels from this city; they're famous all over the world for their distinctive flavor. Don't miss the antipasti—there are plenty. You can also trust the waiter, because, as I said, the food is always fresh. Book your table because the anti-COVID procedures are followed. For me, Trattoria Al Piccolo Porticciolo isn't just a trattoria: it's a must-visit every time I return to Taranto. It was when I lived in London, when I lived in northern Italy, and it still is today, now that I live in Lecce. It's one of those places where the sea is intertwined with family memories. We enjoyed a menu priced at €45 per person, which included a selection of raw and cooked seafood appetizers, followed by risotto and a first course with seafood mezze maniche. To finish, sea bream fillet with potatoes. To round it all off, lemon sorbet...house dessert...coffee and amaro. Overall, a satisfying dinner.

The menu featured practically all frozen products, with each dish always having two asterisks—absurd for a seaside seafood restaurant. And the dishes themselves confirmed the mediocrity of the place. The very high review scores raise many doubts... Absolutely not recommended.

Demand is certainly high, and therefore there's a lot of customers because the quality is excellent, but it would be nice if there were a quieter atmosphere.
