09/08/2024: I was a guest of the Golden Eagle for just one night, personally I found in this place what I wanted most: the beauty of the lake and the tranquility to free the mind. First of all, all the staff are kind, thoughtful and attentive to the guest's needs. The hotel has 20 rooms so everything is on a human scale. I chose the lake view solution and it was a wonderful treat. Comfortable bed and two types of pillow. (At the moment there is carpet but some rooms have been modernised). The swimming pool is very well looked after with comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas where I spent pleasant moments. The highlight of the hotel is certainly the terrace where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner with the Sirmione skyline in front. In the evening everything becomes a nativity scene with the lights that line the view of the lake. The cuisine was excellent for both lunch and dinner... they told me that the chef is from Puglia and yes!! Really good! For breakfast you can choose anything!!! Eggs cooked in all ways, sweet and savory for all tastes: cooked fruit and vegetables, fresh yoghurt or frozen yoghurt, multi-grain bread to be sliced ​​fresh or bread to toast, organic juices, organic jams but also pistachio creams, chocolate and custard! Cakes, tarts and pancakes, in short, isn't breakfast the main meal? Finally, I appreciated the interiors of the hotel, everything recalls Klimt, his colours, the golden age and his kiss. Finally, the hotel has a large free car park which is not a small thing, and a lockable bike area. I will definitely be back!

23/08/2024: Cortesia e gentilezza a servizio di una cucina di ottima qualità. Pesce freschissimo e conto nella norma. Assolutamente consigliato . Ps: Dario è un “padrone di casa” eccezionale!

21/08/2024: Abbiamo iniziato con un piatto di ostriche rosse fantastiche e una bottiglia di champagne Abbiamo proseguito con antipasti cotti e crudi. Scampi e gamberi freschissimi. Nasello con Mayonese Seppia alla gallipolina Sgombro marinato Scampi alla gallipolina ( con pan grattato al forno) Primo piatto Paccheri con aragosta ( al sugo) Un primo così buono da non far mancare i complimenti allo staff della cucina ( soprattutto Daniela) Proprietari gentilissimi e molto professionali come tutto il resto dei collaboratori d altronde. Sicuramente tra i migliori ristoranti di pesce della città bella.

15/07/2024: Personale cortese e competente. Carta dei vini e delle birre limitata perché ci si affida a una cantina "mirata" (vini comunque buoni). Scelta delle pizze ampia. Unico appunto: se non vi piace la musica napoletana, girate alla larga.

31/08/2024: I've stayed in so many hotels through Italy, and this has to be the worst. As a solo traveller, I am used to paying the same cost as others sharing a room. Firstly, Hotel Silvo put me in the only disabled access room in the hotel - when I booked a double room with a balcony - not the disabled room. Secondly, the drain in the shower was blocked, which I discovered while showering. This resulted in standing in disgusting drain water that pooled in the shower floor. Thirdly, as the room is for disabled access, the shower had a very minimal lip. With the water pooling in the base, it leaked all over the bathroom and out to the bedroom. Fourthly, the only powerpoint with the plug that fits the adapters, was on the floor outside the bathroom. With the water running into to bedroom, all my electronics which were charging got wet. Fifthly, I tried to call the hotel from the phone next to the bed, inly to discover, the phone was not working. Sixthly, I reported to reception the next morning, who was very nice and helpful. However, she couldn't give me another room as the hotel was fully booked. I requested a refund, as this was not the room I paid for and all the drama with the room. Reception asked her manager to which the answer was no, they offered me a free pass to go to the 10 euro beach next door. And lastly, there are no hangers to hang towels, so had to use the shower rail. As the drain is a health and safety issue, as well as not the room I booked, a refund should be expected. Absolutely would never stay here again.

18/08/2024: Hotel Silvio is in a good location, walkable to the town of Bellagio within 20 minutes. Room was clean with great view to Lake Como at a great value. Breakfast was decent enough, it could have used better quality pastry and bread. Service was ok, except for one reception person who called me out on refilling a bottle out of the freezer water offered at reception, she said that was only a welcome drink that were supposed to drink that water only at arrival, which is kinda weird given it’s tap water jug with some lemon and mint. Bedding and bathroom could be upgraded a bit. Note that the restaurant doesn’t offer dinner, just some small menu items. overall, we enjoyed it.

10/08/2024: Run by Chinese but ONLY Italian food, very good, good service, generous doses and normal price, the owner is very friendly and helpful... booking is recommended because it is quite popular. I go there often with my husband and sometimes with friends. Advised!
