The service, however, was modest, verging on poor, which was in stark contrast to the type of place: it's pointless to have flowers, a lit pool, a lake view, and other thoughtful details if you're treated worse than at the village festival... From the moment I called to make a reservation, a young man answered, "Tell me," "Bye-bye?" Once we arrived, he pointed to a table from a distance, pointing, not a word. During dinner, two young "waiters" inappropriately interrupted our table, "Is your car double-parked?!" As if we were at a market. Only halfway through the evening did a curly-haired girl pass by and finally, in a kind tone, pay attention to what was next...

If you order a €14 or €15 first course and are asked if you prefer fresh pasta, that means you'll be charged €20 when you pay. Add a €3 cover charge, and you'll conclude, like me, that it would have been better to choose a restaurant rather than a trattoria.

07/10/2025: I'm giving it one star because it's impossible not to. This place is highly recommended. The chef is Neapolitan, but he's forgotten how to eat in the South. The dishes we ate were truly inedible. The chili pepper was added regardless, without checking with anyone who didn't like chili peppers, and the tagliata was overcooked, and the portion was very small—it definitely wasn't even 200g of meat.

15/10/2025: i think it’s the best spot in sirmione and a unique opportunity to try truly delicious, authentic italian food made by an italian family. the atmosphere is amazing and everything is incredibly tasty — especially the pasta with langoustine, the octopus with mashed potatoes, and the seasonal dish with porcini mushrooms, potatoes, and shrimp. the staff is very warm and friendly. places like this are rare — with real people, their mood, character, and authenticity.

12/08/2025: Pizzeria San Martino, a few steps from my house and somewhat hidden, is nevertheless well-known in the area. In the first two or three years after opening, it stood out for its attention to every detail: a tidy place, impeccable service, and consistently excellent pizza. After a few years, the quality of the pizza has remained extremely high—truly among the best—as has the service and the welcoming, pleasant atmosphere inside. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the outdoor area. During nights and on days when it's closed, the terrace becomes a place of passage and rest for people who leave it in a shabby condition, significantly degrading its overall image. This unfortunately takes away from the place's charm, to the point that, even when it reopens at the end of the summer, those who pass by during these weeks are unlikely to have a good impression. My advice is to consider permanently removing the terrace and replacing it with a well-kept and striking entrance: two tall, elegant candles, or two slender, well-kept flowerpots, perhaps with a nice rug at the entrance. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, but the current exterior risks putting off customers. It would be a shame not to take action, given the excellent quality of the cuisine.

12/09/2025: We stayed there for a week. Balcony room with a lake view. The room was very nice and clean. A bit lacking storage space in the bathroom, but otherwise excellent. Breakfast was okay, but we didn't like the scrambled eggs. You could have breakfast on the terrace right on Lake Garda, which was great. Location was fantastic. The pool was small and narrow, but comfortable. Very friendly service. Highly recommended

09/09/2025: Fabulous location. Great room on same floor as pool. Bonus! Only quibble being a twin was requested and we had a double. Didnt ask for a change, just put up with sharing with my mate. Not first time. No lift, though wasn't an issue for me. Lakeside so wonderful views. Didn't use restaurant but breakfast was great, changed it up daily to keep it interesting. Options of fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, bacon, eggs, hams, cheeses etc etc. Ferry stop right outside which is convenient but also causes huge queues. I would stay again in a heart beat.
