20/04/2026: Homely atmosphere, fresh fish and you can taste it

29/03/2026: The atmosphere is a bit dated, but overall it was welcoming, thanks to the owner and the young woman who served us. We had a series of appetizers with excellent quality fish and some samples of first courses. However, I found the clams tasteless; I must say that I've had tastier elsewhere, as was the creamed cod. The tiramisu was excellent, as were the house wines by the glass. Ultimately, however, I have to say that even though I ate well, there are many other places that satisfy me and where you don't have to wait three months for a reservation.

23/04/2026: I've been going to Al Cardinale for many years, and for me it remains the absolute best restaurant in the area. The food is truly excellent—every dish is a delight! A special thanks to Pasquale: his service is impeccable, attentive, and very friendly. He makes you feel welcome right away and always in good hands. For me, it's clearly the number one. Highly recommended!

07/04/2026: A trattoria with a high rating, but ultimately nothing exceptional. There are many restaurants that offer much better and more carefully prepared dishes.

07/04/2026: Very poor experience with customer service. Annoyed waiter didnt even bother to check table. I had to ask 3x for table, was willing to wait and they just kicked us out. And there were 3-4 empty tables “reserved”, in April weekday. But food looked ok, if we had a chance to try.

07/04/2026: The food was quite good, but it's incomprehensible why, upon ordering, the menu price suddenly no longer applies and an additional €6 is charged with the explanation that "the fish is fresh." It's probably a tourist tax.

19/04/2026: While strolling around Trieste, we weren't sure where to stop for lunch. We were drawn to this trattoria, and we were truly in luck. Truly delicious food, impeccable service. The menu is seafood-based. Very friendly service and fair prices. Recommended.

13/04/2026: Had dinner here with friends, being close to the fairgrounds. An old-school place in need of a makeover. In our opinion, the restaurant's approach could be changed (better: fewer dishes, quality ingredients including the bread, and a few homemade desserts). The menu is very varied, with fish and pizza. Of the dishes we tried, I can recommend the Tuscan ravioli with speck (good), tagliatelle with shrimp and zucchini (nicely presented), and spaghetti with clams (good); I don't recommend the penne all'amatriciana... and the desserts weren't inspiring. The dishes arrived very quickly (too quickly) and the portions are generous, especially the cold Adriatic mixed appetizer; we would prefer higher quality and smaller portions. Service is good, staff are friendly.

31/03/2026: I visited this restaurant recently, and unfortunately, the experience wasn't the best, although I think there's room for improvement. We ordered a liter of water, but since it wasn't available, we were brought two half-liter bottles without any particular explanation. Furthermore, the drinks (two waters and a small beer) arrived only after the dishes, and only after we requested them: an aspect that definitely needs improvement in the service. Another detail concerns the napkins: they were the standard bar ones, not very absorbent and not suitable for dishes like pasta or sandwiches. It would be better to provide something more appropriate for the type of cuisine offered. Regarding the food, we ordered a first course with duck ragù and a cold cuts sandwich. The first course was decent, but the cold cuts in the sandwich didn't seem particularly fresh and had an unpleasant flavor. Finally, I should point out that the restaurant was very sparsely crowded, making some lapses in service even more evident. I hope this review will be taken as a starting point for improvement, because with a few tweaks the experience could be decidedly more positive.

05/04/2026: We celebrated Easter lunch here along with our wedding, and it was simply perfect. The service was worthy of a top-notch restaurant: attentive, elegant, and always present without being intrusive. Every dish was meticulously crafted and of the highest quality, and from start to finish, everything was truly exceptional. The atmosphere made the moment even more special, and the entire organization was impeccable. A wonderful day that we will cherish forever. Heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Ristorante Marin for making this moment so special.

07/04/2026: Our last evening in Muggia was supposed to be unforgettable thanks to dinner at Mr. Renzo's recommended restaurant. Unfortunately, it won't be a positive memory. Mr. Renzo is domineering about what to eat, and if you disagree with him, you shouldn't be a guest at his restaurant. The food is mediocre and lackluster. The host's humor isn't for everyone. And refusing to give the bill and keeping guests waiting in the vestibule to pay is beyond criticism. A complete disappointment, despite the pleasant decor.

15/12/2025: Believe me, the pizza at this place is extraordinary, sublime, superb. You can tell a good pizza just by looking at it... Number One's cooking method makes it the best pizza I've had in a while!!! Fresh ingredients, not too few, not too many. The perfect pizza. And not only that, but also the eggplant, the fried calamari... Enza the chef works magic with her hands, and Lina makes the restaurant a welcoming and family-friendly place. The sausage and broccoli rabe are just too much!

06/12/2025: Fabulous pizzeria! Among the delicious pizzas, I recommend the panuozzo. Try it and believe it. The owner, Mr. Ciccio, is great.

04/05/2026: Good food, good portions, family atmosphere but slow service, too slow!

17/04/2026: Seafood restaurant. I was told they had spider crab (or granzievola as they say in Tergeste), although it cost me a fortune. The rest is basic but good. There are only a few tables, so reservations are recommended.

11/04/2026: I called in the morning to reserve a table for 8 people and they told me they weren't accepting reservations for 8:30 pm, but everyone who arrived had already booked. When we arrived, there were 12 people in line, and obviously, with my 85-year-old mother, we didn't wait! I don't think this is appropriate or correct behavior for a restaurant!

08/04/2026: Their pizza is delicious, with thin crust, making it easy to digest. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are friendly!
