I'd been there several times in 2023 and was amazed by the selection, quality, and presentation of the food. I returned three years later, and what I had then is now only visible in the menu photos. I was especially disappointed by the raw seafood, although the food is good and reasonably priced. I'll definitely return, but with lower expectations.

We visited this restaurant with my family, and I have to say the food is truly delicious, everything fresh and well-made. You absolutely must try the raw fish, the calamarata with grouper, the fried mixed seafood, and the delicious walnut ice cream, which my kids absolutely loved! The service was fast and impeccable, with truly efficient and knowledgeable waiters. However, food and service aside, the place is truly neglected, not because of the cleanliness, but because there's rust everywhere, from the door and the outside tables to the changing table. The paint is chipped off in many areas of the wall, and my son wanted to watch the game, but it was impossible due to a non-working TV with dangling wires and another with a signal that kept coming and going. We were disappointed by these things because, as I repeat, it's an excellent place, but it also needs an overhaul; otherwise, I would have happily given it five stars. We'll definitely be back next year, hoping not to encounter even more neglect!

We're on vacation in Capo Rizzuto, just steps from the restaurant. We initially snubbed it, but then we decided to try it given the excellent reviews. A dream!!! It's a shame we didn't try it sooner. Everything was truly excellent: we ordered their seafood appetizer, a seafood calamarata, and mouth-watering gnocco del marinaio, and to top it all off, a delicious fried fish dish. For the child, a scallop that melted in the mouth. Everything was truly excellent. Super generous portions at great prices! Excellent value; in fact, I expected to spend much more! If we don't have to leave, we'd happily return. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly!

In all my years of reviewing, I've been to many places, and I've read some that aren't true. But don't tell me or write that the food here at Ancora isn't good. Or that the fish is frozen. Or that it's expensive. Lunch with two Ricci starters. The taste buds were in for a treat; the pasta with urchins requires skill, as it's a seafood. Delicate, thanks to Pino, who's been there for years and is now his signature dish. The peppered mussels and mixed fried fish. The little fish melted in your mouth, not frozen. It takes a lot from someone who writes frozen. I'm a Caporizzuto here, and I want fish. I thank and compliment the staff, Matteo and Luigi, two guys who are quick, professional, and always smiling. I haven't been to this restaurant for a good 10 years. My favorite dish here is sea urchins cooked like Pino's. They're second to none. Thank you for the welcome and impeccable service. For me, at 77 years of age, today was a day to remember: seafood on the table overlooking the sea. Thanks to the kind and professional waiters.
