07/03/2026: Last night, after checking into the dreadful hotel, we were more than compensated here. For starters, we had four different antipasto caldi: tuna, baby octopus, a culinary magic dish (very tasty, though I didn't quite understand what it was), and mezze aubergine. Then we had one maltagliati al sugo di... and one arrosto misto, a mixed fish and roast platter. The staff provided excellent service, and the Swiss owner even stopped by. The view of the Adriatic Sea was rather disappointing due to the darkness.

04/03/2026: What can I say? A restaurant with a sea view, delicious and plentiful first courses, and second courses as pictured, exceptional in freshness and cooking, fast service, and extremely friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!

The service and friendliness improve with each season, without ever losing that family atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Last week, I took two friends there for a few days' vacation, and they raved about the delicious food: generous portions, consistently fresh ingredients, and the house wine is a must-try. A guarantee! Special thanks to Roberto and Domenico, who are always available, friendly, and attentive to every detail. You can tell they care about their customers. If you're looking for a place where you can eat well by the sea, with staff who welcome you with a smile and no frills, this is the place for you. Highly recommended!!!

07/11/2025: A monument built on the ruins of a large Roman villa, inhabited until late antiquity, which between the 6th and 7th centuries became a castrum for the Byzantines who had retained control of the nearby port of Aternum (Pescara), a key landing place and intermediate port between the Exarchate capital of Ravenna and Constantinople. They evidently built the first nucleus of the historic Torre Alex (named after Alessandro Valignano, one of the lords of the Valignano di Cepagatti family in the 17th century). The tower was consolidated in the Lombard era as a control point for a strategic road junction at the crossroads of the S.S. Picena Aprutina and the routes leading up to Forca di Penne and the Aquilano area. From the 11th and 12th centuries, it became the seat of the lords of the Norman, Swabian, and Angevin fiefdom of Cepagatti, before passing to the Valignano family in the 15th century and finally to the current owners. The first archaeological investigations by the Superintendency date back to the 1970s, and continued between 1998 and 2011 in Piazza San Rocco, bringing to light important Roman-era artefacts preserved in the City Council Chamber. The restoration of the Castle has returned to the public the so-called "Sala delle Cisterne," a rare and authentic Roman-era cistern measuring 22 meters long and 4 meters wide, as well as the 340-square-meter "Sala del Grano," located on the top floor of the monument, with a panoramic view of the Pescara Valley. The restoration of the Marcantonio Castle, begun in 2008, represents a "place in history," and the over 2,000 square meters spread over four levels offer the possibility of hosting particularly evocative events. Unfortunately, it is now in decline due to problems with the owners and is closed. What a shame... It is closed and abandoned. We hope the municipality of Cepagatti buys it back.

03/05/2026: 5 stars because 6 isn't possible. Quality and courtesy. Fried calamari and mixed fried fish were excellent, plentiful, dry, and crispy. Seafood salad marinated to perfection. Excellent value for money.

18/04/2026: When coming to Italy, most of us just want to skip the tourist spots and eat exactly how the locals do. This place nails it 100 out of 100. It’s a spotlessly clean fish shop with unbelievably fresh seafood. Honestly, the food they cook here is so much better than what you get in expensive restaurants — there is just no comparison. You eat here and feel like you belong.

28/03/2026: I can't recommend this family-run restaurant in the heart of Ortona, housed in a historic building. We loved the service, the hospitality (which even extended to our two four-legged "beasts"), and the excellent food, both for the quality of the ingredients and the original, impeccable execution: everything was delicious, from the appetizer to the amaro, strictly local and artisanal. Special mention for: smoked tuna prosciutto and winter melon with orange oil; octopus and arugula soppressata; gnocchi with white bluefish ragù and crusco peppers; seafood chitarra pasta; and fish soup (the likes of which are hard to find these days). The wine selection and typical local dry desserts were also excellent. A ♥️ place.

22/04/2026: We got married in September 2025 at the Convivium, and from the beginning, the choice wasn't easy: we were torn between the Sporting, directly overlooking the sea, and the Convivium. Both venues were managed by the fantastic Stefania, whom we will never thank enough for what she managed to achieve for us. The food was exquisite, the atmosphere magnificent, and the staff impeccable in their kindness and professionalism. Stefania, along with maître Nicola, coordinated every moment with extraordinary precision: nothing was left to chance. If you're thinking of entrusting your wedding to Stefania and her fantastic team, you won't regret it. We can't wait to see them again soon at the Sporting 💕

15/04/2026: We couldn't have imagined a better place to celebrate our wedding. The Sporting di Casalbordino has it all: elegance, beauty, views, good food, professionalism, and kindness. Our wedding was enchanting, even more beautiful than we could have dreamed. With the owners, Stefania and Rinaldo, we immediately felt at home and were looked after every detail. When we met, Stefania promised us that our wedding would be beautiful and that she would talk about us every moment. And that's exactly what happened. I would choose the Sporting di Casalbordino a thousand times over, because we had such a wonderful day there. Last but not least: the owners' humanity, with whom you don't feel like a customer but a lifelong friend. We're giving it 5 stars only because there aren't any more 😍

07/04/2026: 1:40 PM... I walk in with a small dog in my arms... lunchtime... the next day, Easter Monday... the place is packed... all the waiters are rightfully busy. I wait patiently at the entrance. As a waiter approaches, I ask if small dogs are allowed... not for lunch but just to quickly say hello to some friends who were in the dining room. I'm told... with a noticeable frown... that I could come in. IT'S A SHAME THAT THE WAITER IN QUESTION IMMEDIATELY CONTINUED HIS STATEMENT....SAYING....THESE....FUCKING DOGS...B.......o....BLASPHEMY INSERTED. OF COURSE I THANKED HIM AND LEFT!!!! BUT I WONDER....TO MY SIMPLE QUESTION...IF SMALL DOGS ARE ALLOWED AT AGE (especially for a greeting and not for lunch) it wasn't easier to answer... I'm sorry, dogs are not allowed?...I would have left thanking him and understanding...without batting an eyelid. Ad maiora always.

18/05/2026: We went for lunch last week. The food was of poor quality and poorly prepared. The staff was inexperienced and confused. I hope they improve, because Giulianova now has two or three valid alternatives that, at the same price, are far superior. ANSWER: I BELIEVE YOU'RE HUGELY WRONG, SINCE YOU'RE KEEPING YOUR PAST BUSINESS OPEN UNDER THE NEW NAME (NERO DI SEPPIA), CREATING CONFUSION AMONG CUSTOMERS.

His stories are always fascinating, as are his cultured and gracious quotes, a rarity these days. Emilia always amazes you with her flavorful yet delicate cuisine, using the freshest local produce. Dining on their trabocco is a joy not only for the palate but also for the mind and eyes. You couldn't ask for anything better. The beauty of their trabocco is unparalleled, and the view you can enjoy envelops and overwhelms you. 29/04/2026: We had dinner at this restaurant right in the center, where there were street musicians who thankfully stopped playing after a while, because it was impossible to even talk... I expected something more from such a typical restaurant... good but I'll leave it to others.

The first impression is human even before it's gastronomic: the staff is friendly, attentive, and instantly puts you at ease. Then comes the food, and from then on, the quality remains consistently high. The mussel sauté is one of those dishes that only seems simple on paper: fragrant, intense, perfectly balanced, the kind that invites you to leave not even a drop of residue. The first courses confirm the kitchen's confident hand: exquisite, well-executed, flawless. But the real "wow" moment comes with the seared tuna fillet. A dish that goes beyond words: impeccably cooked, excellent ingredients, clean and profound flavor. One of those bites that lingers in your memory and, alone, is worth the visit. The bill is as surprising as the dish itself: two appetizers, two main courses, and two side dishes, water only, for between 30 and 40 euros per person. Given the quality of the fish and the level of preparation, the value for money is more than fair; in fact, it's definitely spot on. The service deserves top marks: attentive, professional, and never intrusive. The atmosphere is pleasant and refined; the only small drawback is the lack of a direct sea view, as the restaurant is located slightly further inland. This detail affects the atmosphere, but not the dining experience in the slightest. A restaurant that works well, with integrity and respect for its customers. People come here to eat quality fish and leave with a distinct memory: that of a cuisine that knows how to be remembered.

25/04/2026: This is such a calm and nice place to go, we found this on the last day of our holiday here and it’s probably the coolest beach place we’ve found. Run by the loveliest locals, we only ordered a couple beers but they gave us free snacks/crisps to enjoy. They spoke perfect english even tho they didn’t need to! we didn’t feel rushed and they were very accommodating! cool surfboards too! Ciao!
