16/08/2024: Chronicle of an evening full of misfortune and heat My girlfriend and I had dinner at the Venissa Restaurant a few evenings ago. It was a voucher that I had given her some time before. The bad luck starts a few hours before sitting down at the table, I must have eaten something in a cicchetteria for lunch that made me sick and I start to feel stomach cramps. I remain optimistic, I take a buscopan and decide to try the starry experience anyway also because for various reasons we would have struggled to arrange another date. The atmosphere is elegant but not suffocating, many smiles that put you at ease, making the context comfortable like few others. But alas, after the third course the pangs in my stomach return and I manage to hold on just for the next dish, the superstar: the blue crab. Luckily because it helps me understand the philosophy of Venissa: using a despised, detested, infesting product and transforming it into a prince of the table, protagonist of one of the best dishes I've ever tasted in my life. For me, dinner ends here, I explain the situation and ask that no more dishes come out of the kitchen for me. And, it seems incredible, my experience at Venissa still manages to improve: I am promptly offered a herbal tea and in rotation all the dining room staff come to check on my condition. I don't have time to feel embarrassed because I see a deep empathy in their eyes and I have the opportunity to taste the most important ingredient of Venissa last: human warmth. I have been able to try other starred restaurants but there is a philosophy behind this restaurant that is impressive: the care for raw materials, the attention to using waste, the use of creativity. But the thing that is priceless is the human warmth of the whole team that can be felt in the room and which, inevitably, translates into the dishes. Furthermore, the positive thing is that I have an excuse to return and that the voucher was so appreciated by my girlfriend that I have bonuses for the months to come. Thanks Venissa!

15/08/2024: Absolute level experience. At Osteria Contemporanea we chose the 4-course tasting option with a wine subscription. From the starter to the main course it was an explosive crescendo and the dessert represented an excellent conclusion. Original and well paired wines. The place is magnificent, the vegetable garden in front is a real feast for the eyes. Particular note of merit for the service, very attentive and able to easily put us at ease. Thank you, we will definitely be back

03/09/2024: Very good friendly staff in 30 years it has only improved I recommend booking in advance because it is always full. For little ones the schnitzel is very good and there is a place for the stroller. The only flaw if we really want to be picky in 5 not all the pizzas arrived together we are talking about a few minutes nothing dramatic. Fair price €80 5 pizzas, drinks, water and coffee I've been coming back to it every year for 30 years 😋

22/07/2024: The ambiance was wonderful. If it was just ambiance, we would give it a 5. The service for us was average. Other tables were definitely checked on and tended to more often than we were, but other than needing more to drink, it did not terribly impact our experience. The food was not what we had hoped for. That said, my wife really wanted the seafood risotto, so we both had to get it per the menu requirement. It was not great, and I would not recommend it. Other items I saw being served to patrons looked much better. Go for the ambiance ... expect fair service ... and order wisely.

21/07/2024: Beautiful restaurant with a rare and large garden seating area out back. The food and service were great, and they were very able to accommodate a gluten allergy.

31/08/2024: Come Venezia: un luogo speciale ma ormai invaso dai turisti. Nonostante ciò, resta un ottimo locale: mangia bene e propone tanti piatti tipici. Da non perdere tartare di tonno e branzini al forno . Anche gli spaghetti sono ben fatti e abbondanti. Ci sono anche delle buone alternative vegetariane. Hanno anche tante scelte di vino a calice . Nonostante il tantissimo lavoro, il servizio è abbastanza scorrevole, il personale è alla buona e pronto alla battuta, ma anche a consigliare.

30/08/2024: L'endroit est plutôt décevant. Vu la chaleur, nous avons préféré manger à l'intérieur. L'accueil a été plutôt rustre et moyen. Nous avons eu l'impression de venir les déranger. Nous avions réservé et ce n'était pas utile. Nous avons rapidement reçu la carte et avons dû rapidement faire notre choix vu l'insistance des serveurs. Nos plats sont arrivés en à peine 5 minutes, dont un plat chaud! Nous avions choisi le vitello tonnato à 20€ - moyen - et la lasagne de poissons à 16€....avec très peu de poisson! Le couvert est à 3€ par personne. En résumé, si vous passez par cette place agréable et avez envie d'y manger, pourquoi pas? Mais ne vous attendez pas à de la grande cuisine. Il y a des restaurants autour qui ont l'air d'en valoir plus la peine.

06/08/2024: Food great. Just enormous pressure to clear the table for new guests as quickly as possible. This is because they have to convert 500 people every day. This makes the meal not pleasant but rushed. Had to finish main course and dessert within an hour.

08/08/2024: Lovely, traditional osteria with nice "cicchetti" and a great selection of wines.

06/08/2024: Came hungry!!!! Gone hungry, !!!!! In between there were almost 70 euros for two. Don't be fooled. I'm relatively small and light and can't fit that much into my stomach, but I've rarely experienced something like that. Zero points, !!!! When I go out to eat, I want to eat and not leave hungry. I only give one point everywhere so that this restaurant doesn't look too good, because it doesn't serve its purpose. I don't understand the good reviews because the taste was "just normal". Total disappointment. For a hollow tooth

21/08/2024: The gluten free margarita pizza is great and the carbonara pasta was also very delicious. The regular pizza is also something I like. Very good experience overall. Thank you for the staff and for the kitchen. We came back 3 times and the quality was always the same.

27/07/2024: Che dire, Ottimo in tutto. Piatti della tradizione veneta e non con un elevato grado di raffinatezza. Ottima accoglienza e disponibilità di tutto il personale. Ambientazione da tradizione, ci si sente a casa. Ho provato la torta Smetannik a sfoglia (chiedo scusa, spero sia il nome corretto)........interessante. Vorrei proporre di servirla con un bicchierino di vino liquoroso, sarebbe l'ideale, secondo me.

13/08/2024: These were some of the best noodles I had ever eaten. The Tagliolini con Gorgonzola e Spinaci are recommended. It was relatively quick and the service was very friendly and attentive.

11/08/2024: Very small portions, rather modest service, and quiteexpensive, I don't understand where these positive reviews come from. We were also forced to sit at a table in the back, not on the street, where there was little air, being very hot. We are definitely not coming back.

01/09/2024: My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit to this welcoming restaurant. We enjoyed truly excellent raw shrimp and a lovely burrata with tomatoes to start. We then enjoyed a very generous mixed seafood grill for two. Finally, an outstanding tiramisu and espresso finished our dinner. We experienced excellent service from Antonio as well as other staff members. Excellent wine list.
