05/04/2026: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the atmosphere was initially cold but then welcoming. The food selection included a traditional cooked appetizer and scallops. I expected something more given the restaurant's caliber. Everything was very fresh, and the cooking and boiling points were just right, except for the crostini, which, in my opinion, didn't live up to the standards of the creamed cheeses. The bread basket, however, needs revisiting: mine seemed unprepared, and the quality of the bread definitely needs improvement. The lemon licorice sorbet with a dusting of meringue was very good, but perhaps the table setting could be improved. Only white wine is served by the glass, and only one type for both still and sparkling wines. No rosé, no red. Perhaps I would expand this aspect to make it easier to enjoy the wine. The style, artwork, and decor make it a delightful restaurant. I'll be back to try the rest.

11/04/2026: A typical Italian trattoria tucked away in a small alley. Attentive and friendly service, and the food was divine for seafood lovers. The sliced ​​beef was also very good, but the focus was clearly on seafood. And it wasn't your average tourist fare, but truly special, featuring local delicacies. The desserts were fantastic, and the espresso was exceptional. We'll be back!

25/02/2026: A lunch I stumbled upon by chance on a weekend in February. The quality of the dishes served was excellent, the ingredients high-quality, and the service truly attentive and formal. A place to recommend; the price is appropriate for the dishes and the service provided. The first courses were truly appreciated. Advance reservations are highly recommended.

12/04/2026: This restaurant overlooks the Vigo Bridge in Chioggia. A very nice location. My boyfriend and I went for dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day 2025. Unfortunately, there were only two waiters due to the number of people seated, and the service suffered. The wait in the kitchen was a bit long, but the food was good. Prices were a bit high.

20/06/2025: Oggi abbiamo visitato Chioggia e ci siamo trovati all’Osteria Penzo. Non avevamo prenotato ma i gestori sono riusciti a trovarci un posticino. Abbiamo mangiato i cicchetti come antipasto, gnocchetti buonissimi con vongole, radicchio e cipolla ed un’ottimo fritto.Buono il rapporto qualità prezzo, gestori molto cortesi.
19/06/2025: Ich hatte eine schöne Zeit in Chioggia und der Abend in dieser feinen Osteria bei Mario war das i- Tüpfelchen. Das Essen hervorragend! Der Service freundlich! Und obwohl man reservieren muss, bekommt man das Gefühl der einzige und beste Gast zu sein! Hier bekommt man gute Laune und verlässt das Lokal mit einem Lächeln. Vielen Dank, Mario!

05/04/2026: If dining were an exercise in style based on approximation, this place would certainly deserve praise. Unfortunately, for those seeking seafood cuisine that respects the raw ingredients and service that understands the fundamentals of hospitality, today's experience proved to be a regrettable dissonance. ​The Start and the "Laying Bare" of the Fish We began with the crudités. While the basic flavor wasn't unpleasant, the complete lack of attention to cleanliness made the meal an exercise in patience: constantly encountering unremoved scales transforms the pleasure of tasting into a tactile nuisance that could be avoided with simple technical skill. Added to this is the management of condiments that is, to say the least, peculiar: oil, salt, pepper, and lemon are not standard tableware items, but must be expressly requested, as if enhancing the dish were an optional extra at the customer's expense. The Chaos of Synchrony and the Enigma of the First Courses For the second half of the meal, we requested the first courses, the grilled meat, and the fried fish, be delivered simultaneously. While the grilled meat exhibited the same lack of cleanliness as the appetizer, the real crunch came with the first courses. Although the clam and shellfish sauce was delicious, the pasta—both the gnocchi and the calamarata—was so undercooked that it was indigestible. The consistency was that of a synthesis of raw starch that literally stuck to our teeth, making chewing unpleasant, so much so that we were forced to consume only the sauce and abandon the pasta on our plate. The Roulette of Service The service proceeded by trial and error: we witnessed a waltz of dishes intended for other tables and systematically rejected, a managerial disarray that probably explains why our mixed fried fish never reached its destination. Faced with such confusion, we preferred not to wait any longer, even forgoing coffee to avoid further risks. ​The epilogue at the checkout: between speculation and embarrassment The highlight of the experience, however, was not culinary, but relational. Heading to the checkout with the intention of settling the bill without demanding any discount—despite the obvious poor service—I thought it appropriate to offer constructive criticism to the lady in charge regarding the inedibility of the pasta. ​The reaction, rather than professional or attentive, was disorganized: the lady promptly headed to the kitchen to inspect the dishes, then returned with the arrogant pretense of contradicting our judgment because, in her opinion, the first courses had been consumed. The fact that we had eaten the fish out of hunger, leaving the pasta uncooked, seemed too complex to grasp. The height of the insult was reached with the insinuation that we had "cunningly" avoided paying for the fried food. A phrase bordering on defamation. Dear Madam, before writing such nasty accusations, I would suggest you consult your security camera footage and have the courage to accuse only after verifying that the dish never left the kitchen to reach our table. As for us, our "cunning" will manifest itself from now on in a very simple way: by choosing a destination where education and competence are at home.
25/03/2026: Terrible experience, bordering on mockery. Last night we had dinner at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences in recent memory. Two of us ordered the tuna tagliata: we received an embarrassing portion, looking like leftovers from a plate. It was served without a word, as if everything were normal. Only when I pointed this out to the waitress ("Is this the whole tagliata?") did she respond with, "Yeah, but I'll charge you half price." Absurd. If I hadn't said anything, they would have ignored it. The waitress tried to take the blame, but it's clear the problem stems from the kitchen: you don't serve a dish like that at that price (€23–€25) and hope the customer won't notice. As if that weren't enough, a pasta with clams with... 4 clams (photo in hand). Mediocre fish quality, ridiculous portions, and a completely off-the-charts quality-to-price ratio. Totally disrespectful customer experience. Never again.

07/04/2026: We went here for Easter lunch, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing: the staff was unfriendly and rather rude, and the wait was truly excessive. A real shame, because the outdoor setting is pleasant. The food quality was mediocre, and the dishes were poorly thought out. We felt almost like a nuisance, as if the customers' presence were unwanted. No one cares about providing good, enjoyable dining anymore, and the excuse of a holiday is no longer acceptable. Definitely not recommended.
06/04/2026: The place is 1980s-style, but overall nice! We were seated right away, but unfortunately, after an hour and a half, only an appetizer arrived, so we decided to leave! I have to say, we weren't even the first ones to leave... We definitely won't be back!

29/08/2025: Right in the middle of the main square, opposite the basilica, we had some delicious sweets. It's Dolce Vita for life. There's a wide selection, from macarons to tiramisu. The service was very friendly and attentive for the short time we were there. The price was also very reasonable.

04/09/2025: I've dined at this restaurant/pizzeria several times and have always had a great experience 👍. The pizzas are good 🍕 (they also offer takeout), but especially the fish dishes (I usually prefer the mixed grill 🐟🐙🦐). The staff is helpful and courteous. The quality/price ratio is definitely good too. They also accept meal vouchers 🎫, making this place an excellent option for those who have them. RECOMMENDED 👍. 26/04/2025: Locale curato (pare, perché si mangia in penombra !) piatti curati ma se avete fame, non è il posto per voi. La cortesia delle cameriere innegabile ma non altrettanto quella del proprietario che ha un atteggiamento quasi infastidito e spocchioso . Un sorriso costa poco e almeno quando pago QUEL conto, potrebbe rallegrarsi . Non ci tornerei .
22/04/2025: Ottimo ristorante di pesce nel centro di Chioggia. Il menu offre un’ampia scelta di piatti di pesce locale freschissimo. La cucina sa esaltare l’ottima materia prima. Buonissimi il gran bollito di Chioggia, il crudo di mare, la grigliata, come pure i dolci (consigliata la degustazione della piccola pasticceria). Il locale è elegante, i tavoli sono ben distanziati e il servizio è curato, professionale e gentile.
