08/12/2024: We went to Il Giglio for lunch and had a great time, we ate the risotto with pumpkin, cabbage and chestnuts which was delicious, the place is original and the staff were very kind! We will be back soon.

08/12/2024: The fog rises from the ditches and slowly spreads across the moor, leaving its damp smell of freshly made sheets. The clear sky fills the space, leaving the traveler without sensory defenses to face new taste challenges. Near the place of worship, where culinary faith is corrupted by new frontiers of spirit, I enter a new cave. In front of you stands the property that reveals spaces where the unusual scenario of foreign mushrooms lost in the new language breaks down in front of the finely awaited local pasta. The curry reluctantly married on the table with the Lucca tradition meets the palates of the most unruly. The custard mounts its exuberance with the hint of lavender in the contained space of the terracotta, a natural border where the sugar is composed in a thin and fragile layer for the Portuguese conquest. The wine squeezed into glasses that are never too large to contain its alcoholic exuberance accompanies you throughout the evening, satisfying your mood... Well I discover myself in front of this spectacle, naked in my ancient and never banal memories, where novelty is at home . The experiential exit is facilitated by the local staff, the result of a new culture of hospitality that has its roots in nurturing the relationship with the bystander rather than with the traveller's wallet. With this wealth I am preparing to face new adventures while the moon has conquered its space and dominates victoriously in the newborn night. To be enjoyed.

01/12/2024: Bel locale frequentato da bella gente, elegante carino ed ottimo servizio. Tutto buono, cucina semplice, complimenti, non è quello che cerco ma se volete mangiare bene lo consiglio. Prezzi adeguati al servizio ed al locale. Tra tutto consiglio lo stracotto con il puré ed il tortino di cioccolato. Le altre cose che ho assaggiato non mi hanno fatto innamorare.

06/01/2025: I spent a wonderful evening with my mother to celebrate an event, I breathed in the passion of the chef who often came to the table to have a discussion, doing the same job, having met him gave me energy and I thank him now for this. I recommend this place to those who want to open up to trying a different experience from the usual restaurants.

24/12/2024: In the Funiculi pizzeria, a dream that progresses, Neapolitan pizza is a dance of hope. Golden crust, tomato and basil, every bite is joy, a fantastic flavor. Smiling staff, warmth and passion, welcomes with love, creates connection. In Lucca, a treasure, a festive corner, where pizza is art and taste does not remain.

22/12/2024: The Pizza here is Napolitana Pizza 🍕. It is one of the best that you can have in Lucca area. My favorites are Cortidina and Margareta Pizza.

29/12/2024: In a tourist city like Lucca, where the food and wine offer is vast and of the highest level, it is surprising to come across a place that manages to stand out with a cuisine with a strong personality and a kind and warm welcome. The cuisine is the first surprise: although it starts from traditional ingredients, it is not afraid to experiment, introducing fascinating contaminations, especially from the Asian world. This choice gives the venue a unique identity, in stark contrast to the prevalence of traditional proposals in the city. A notable example is the "Heart Tataki", which combines tradition and originality with ingredients that are uncommon today. The wine list is another strong point, with a careful selection of local and international labels, including natural wines and wines from the "Triple A" consortium. For lovers of spirits, a rich choice of whiskeys and bitters stands out, ideal for finishing the meal in style. Even though the kitchen was slightly late, the service was impeccable: efficient, attentive and extraordinarily courteous. The place is truly enchanting. The upper floor is of great charm, thanks to a window that offers a breathtaking view of Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. Booking that table is an experience not to be missed for those who want to enjoy a meal with a unique view in the world. A place that I recommend to everyone, but especially to those looking for an original and memorable culinary experience. 17/11/2024: Returned after several years and everything was as excellent as it was then. Fabulous bavette and spaghetti risotto. Wine list by the glass certainly not banal. Professional staff but capable of making you feel at ease.

04/12/2024: Approdati a Lucca per un evento, abbiamo colto l’occasione di fermarci a pranzo presso uno degli Chef italiani più di mio gradimento. Siamo stati accolti in maniera impeccabile, cameriere professionali ed accoglienti (direi anche un po’ alla mano). A partire dalla prima portata del menú siamo stati incantati dalle idee dello Chef Tomei, il quale con piatti direi quasi stravaganti porta in tavola piatti semplici ma dove si nota che dietro c’è molta attenzione e studio della materia prima. Una nota di merito alla crème brule di cervello e alla tartare! A mio parere dolci da migliorare. Abbiamo apprezzato particolarmente che lo Chef si sia fermato a parlare con Noi. Ci rivedremo presto.

02/12/2024: If you have never tried Chef Tomei's cuisine, you absolutely must do it! The chef combines tradition with technique and imagination. Explosions of flavor and feast for the eyes. An elegant but relaxing environment that allows you to enjoy the journey in the best possible way (and being a real journey it rewards customers with a taste map!!!).

01/01/2025: Fabulous lunch on the 1st of the year, trout and super bombs. Elegant but sober place, very kind staff, portions not abundant but not small either.

06/01/2025: Lovely, small and familiar atmosphere. We were able to try two first courses and two second courses and I can say that all the dishes were taken care of in detail, both visually and in terms of flavour. I highly recommend the tavern (book in advance as there are few tables).

02/01/2025: It's okay but the prices are high and it's not tasty. It wasn't worth it! Not good Our table seemed not to have been served and this dry ice thing is not only strange but also stinks. The waiters and the kitchen should rather cook and not make a bad impression! The price of the online menu absolutely does not correspond to the price, the cheap price is €22 and the price is around €77, the price is per portion

04/01/2025: I'll tell you about my experience. Let me start by saying that they found me a table at the last minute...which was practically impossible and so I thank you very much....BUT - Caciotta flan with "I sti cazzi arrotolati" lard and pink pepper ==> piece of cheese melted in a microwave bowl with 2 slices of lard on top (not so good) and a lot of pink pepper. The 3 slices of bread are good - Fillet with green pepper ==> good... too much pepper (really a lot, maybe too much) to the point that I couldn't taste the meat. Meat a little tough for my standards. ***I often make it at home and the meat, in addition to being very tender (to be cut with a plastic knife), is never covered by the flavor of pepper. - Puccini dessert (drowned in coffee) ==> bindi cake (or similar) served still frozen with hot coffee poured in. Really poor sweet result without flavor and consistency. Terrible to say the least. €7.00 thrown away. The only satisfaction: the wine. Very varied cellar. Recommended choice of wine ===> excellent wine Draw your own conclusions.

24/10/2024: We were at the source for a birthday and we ate really well... from the appetizers to the first courses to the second courses... all delicious and rigorously homemade, from the sublime mushroom carpaccio, to the macaroni with mushrooms and tortelli with meat sauce, all homemade , excellent quality meat and fried mushrooms made to perfection as they were once done...truly ad hoc quality/price ratio...excellent service, kind and attentive staff and top chef...simple and genuine cuisine ...highly recommended

04/10/2024: We ate well and will return, but the service needs to be improved, when I had already eaten a first course, the pizzas arrived for other people and the other three had not yet received the house starter which among other things is all cold so we don't understand this delay, then the latter always ate the pizzas when I had finished more than an hour ago, it would be nice to eat all together...
