31/03/2025: We stumbled upon this hidden gem in a quaint, slightly abandoned village. On a Sunday evening, the place was eerily quiet, but the food was absolutely delectable. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, with the Caponata being a standout. The waiter was not only polite but also very engaging, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

30/03/2025: I ate here several times during my trip during the off-season. The atmosphere is cozy. I absolutely loved all the staff who were so friendly, welcoming, and attentive. I tried several pasta dishes as well as the pizza. All the food was delicious. But I especially enjoyed the pasta alla Norma and the Sicilian cassata for dessert. I highly recommend this restaurant!

07/04/2025: Menù variegato ovviamente con il,pesce a farla da padrone. Crudi ottimi, primi eccellenti e con porzioni corrette se non addirittura abbondanti. Unico consiglio, se mi posso permettere, servirei gli antipasti caldi separati dai crudi. Si rischia che i caldi si freddino. Farei un giro di servizio in più al tavolo, ma li servirei a distanza di qualche minuto. Notevole la carta dei vini con prezzi adeguato. Ottimo il consiglio che ci è stato dato, il vino consigliato era veramente azzeccato. Prezzo…….leggermente al di sopra della media, ma adeguato alla qualità dei prodotti e al,servizio offerto.

30/10/2024: You sit a little apart in a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant is run with passion and the food is worth the price! We have rarely eaten so well. Don't be afraid to come here with children, the chef is also ready to prepare pasta with tomato sauce for the little ones 😊 Absolutely recommended in all respects!

05/04/2025: We were quite unsure to go there because of the very different reviews. But we thought we’ll give it a try. Well… this was quite a trap. To start: the waitress was very friendly and we felt very much welcomed. Everything came very quickly, actually a bit too quick. They say they have a very nice view on Etna, which is not really true but that’s fine. About the food: unfortunately the food really wasn’t tasty at all. They tell you that’s it’s all homemade, Lasagne from the grandmother who helps them in the kitchen every day. I do have the feeling that this is a scam and actually not true. The Bruschetta is made in a mixer, more mashed than actual tomatoes and the bread is burned. The olives were quite old and soggy. The Lasagne was really bad I have to say. The meat inside was also more a mash, it felt like you eat a puree of meat. And there were peas inside, which I personally don’t like. The Spaghetti Carbonara tasted like plastic and old. The pizza was actually the best with the homemade bread. That actually tasted well! The tiramisu was very soggy. In the end they told us three times to give them a nice review and again told us about the grandmother. I have the feeling this is why they have such good reviews. You actually leave with a remorse leaving a bad review. But I really can’t recommend going there.

10/03/2025: Ancient Messina trattoria located at the end of Viale Europa and excellently managed by the owner. The environment is simple and familiar accompanied by joking notes from the dining room staff. Ancient dishes with an authentic flavour. Highly recommended are the fish bellies, a traditional endangered dish that the owner is preserving and offering to his customers. The swordfish chops are sublime as is the greedy stockfish. Prices are modest and aligned with the proposed offer. Suggestions: I would change the pasta to ghiotta in which there is no trace of fish! (too bad I would have given 5 stars) Possibility to have dinner because it is only open for lunch… I recommend the taste experience

12/04/2025: The staff was friendly, which I appreciated. However, the food was okay — too salty for my taste (notably the lemon fish). The value for money is poor; it's expensive for the quantity and the taste. I had a plate of anchovy pasta (€14) and a lemon fish dish (€20). I thought the grilled vegetables served with the fish were included, but they were charged separately (€6). We had a misunderstanding, the staff kindly gaves me explanation. I was also charged €4 for tap water and €2.50 for a basket of bread. I guess that how it works in Italy but it all adds up quickly.

22/12/2024: Popped in for a quick lunch and ordered the same old boring margarita pizza and spaghetti pomodoro. Wow. Their sauce was among the best we had on our whole trip! Super convenient, across the street form a few hotels. Definitely going back.
