A Hidden Gem in Sicily – Our Best Dining Experience in Italy After traveling all around Italy, we ended our trip in Sicily, and without a doubt, our best dining experience happened at Spelonca. The truffle carpaccio was absolutely mouthwatering, the sea urchin pasta was incredible, and even the roasted potatoes were unbelievably delicious. Every dish was prepared with so much care and flavor. What made the experience even more special was the staff. My daughter wanted a turkey pizza, but it wasn't on the menu. One of the wonderful employees actually shared the turkey she had brought for her own lunch so the chef could make the pizza for her. That level of kindness and hospitality is something we'll never forget. It's easy to see why this place is so popular. If you're planning to visit, make sure to reserve your table well in advance. Thank you for making the perfect ending to our Italian vacation!

Our family reunion brought 35 of us from the USA to Giardini Naxos, and La Spelonca Restaurant could not have been a better choice for our welcome dinner. A very special thank you to Chef Cristian, who was incredible to work with throughout the planning process. Since we were traveling from the U.S., I wanted to offer our family a true taste of Sicily. Chef Cristian thoughtfully created a fixed-price menu featuring wonderful local specialties, then happily worked with me to customize it until it was exactly what we envisioned. Every course was outstanding. The food was fresh, authentic, beautifully prepared, and gave our group the opportunity to experience many traditional Sicilian dishes. Our servers were warm, patient, and incredibly accommodating, making such a large gathering feel effortless. They also arranged the perfect space for our celebration. If you’re planning a large group event, I highly recommend La Spelonca. Just organize it in advance, and you’re in excellent hands. The best part? A few days later, just the four of us returned for dinner, and the experience was every bit as exceptional. The food, service, and hospitality were just as memorable. Our favorites: caponata, eggplant cannolini, seafood salad, red shrimp ( first time having them) and a must try the Pistachio cream pasta!! For dessert, cassata, cannoli and tiramisu. Thank you to Chef Cristian, his wife Irena & Mario and the entire team for helping make the beginning of our Sicilian adventure so special. We can’t recommend La Spelonca highly enough. It is an absolute must-visit when you’re in Giardini Naxos or Taormina which is just a short taxi ride away! Grazie Mille Chef. Ti aspettiamo in Arizona!

Found this place when we were on holiday in Giardini Naxos June 2026, beautiful Italian menu, everything we ordered as delicious. Service was great, many meals we did not find in the other local restaurants. We liked it so much, we made a reservation for our final night to enjoy before we left Sicily. Great restaurant, well done to everyone who works there!

Ate here 2 nights during our holiday and had excellent food, service and drinks both nights. Our meals included pasta with seafood, pizzas and salads along with delicious desserts - all with quality, fresh ingredients. Good value wine too and very friendly, helpful, smiling staff. Highly recommended.

Everything was outstanding and perfect. The staff was friendly and provided a pleasent vibe. The meals were truly excellent and I cannot pin out anything negative. Truly an Italian experience which everybody should try out.

Excellent service, best pizza in Giardini. The location is also very quiet; even though the restaurant is on a street, the difference in elevation of the terrace (2 meters below street level) means you don't hear any noise.

Highly recommended! If you're in Giardini and want to eat some excellent seafood, this place is definitely worth a visit. The quality is excellent, the fish is incredibly fresh and carefully prepared, with truly exquisite dishes. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always attentive, making you feel immediately at ease. An experience that combines authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and impeccable service. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special lunch or dinner!
