12/07/2026: We had a great time at this historic trattoria, very close to Catania's fish market. We didn't hesitate even though the place was empty, and once seated, we ordered sardines al beccafico, caponata, grilled fish, and swordfish. The service is simple, without frills. As is the beautifully laid table. The dishes are simple, authentic, and delicious. The prices are fair. If we ever return to Catania, we'll definitely dine here again.

19/07/2026: If I order the catch, I expect to see the whole fish before being served, not the fish already cleaned and filleted and ready to be placed on the plate. Never happened in fifteen years in Sicily. Lost a customer. It's a shame because the location is amazing.

10/07/2026: One of the best restaurants we visited during our trip to Sicily. In my opinion, it’s underrated and absolutely deserves 5 stars. Not just for its atmosphere and view, but for the outstanding quality of its food as well.

My wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying the "C'era una Volta" menu at Ristorante Crocifisso – and it was an extraordinary experience from beginning to end. Even the opening course, with three lovingly prepared amuse-bouches, demonstrated the creativity, precision, and passion with which the chefs work. This was followed by five courses that were not only technically perfect but also delighted the palate. Each dish told its own story, combining regional products, refined techniques, and an impressive attention to detail. The service deserves special mention: attentive, warm, professional, and pleasantly unobtrusive. As a guest, you feel welcome and in excellent hands. The team truly understands how to make the evening a completely special experience. Each course was a highlight in itself, and together they created a culinary experience that will be remembered for a long time. Here, you can see in every detail why this restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star – and in our opinion, it's more than deserved. Anyone in Sicily looking for exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and an evening of pure enjoyment shouldn't miss a visit to Ristorante Crocifisso. 19/05/2026: Unfortunately disappointing! The first two courses were exciting and good, but then there was a 40-minute wait for the main course (lamb), which was only of typical hotel quality, and then the dessert, served two minutes after the main course, was a disappointing end to the meal. The fact that the chef (or the advertised mother) didn't appear in person and that the table was even wobbly (which was later fixed) left a rather flat feeling after the hefty bill.

24/04/2026: Everything is frozen, the fresh shrimp are cooked lightly, in short, it's good for tourists.

02/10/2025: A very beautiful place on the sea, with ample and convenient parking with access from the main road. The food and wines are quality, though the desserts, I'd say, are less so. We returned after three days.

24/09/2025: A charming place to visit, especially in summer to enjoy the view. The first courses, the desserts, are good, but the selection is limited, and the semifreddo and almond parfait are very icy. The selection of bitters is very limited (only two).

27/06/2026: I ordered the fish-based menu and I must say the quality of the products is excellent, in a pleasant atmosphere where both the owner and staff are very friendly and attentive to the customer's needs. I recommend it 👍

The owners and staff are very kind and make you feel at home. The food is traditional, carefully prepared and has that authentic homemade taste that you look for when visiting Italy. 23/10/2025: We stayed at the property for 3 nights: a super strategic location for exploring all of Favignana, being in the center of the island, just a few minutes from both the town center with its bars and restaurants and the coves. The studios were very cute and comfortable, with a small kitchen and a private outdoor area with a drying rack, table, and chairs. The room and bathroom were clean. Being located in a small forest, it was very quiet. *NB: They don't provide soap and sponges for the kitchen, but they do provide them for a fee in the lobby; they could be included in the price of the stay; it would be a shame to miss out on such a low price. Breakfast is not available; there are coffee and snack machines. The staff was a bit unhelpful, but the check-in and check-out instructions were clear.

13/10/2025: The property is located in a charming, quiet, and peaceful area, in the middle of a park, right on the seafront. It's an excellent location, a 10-minute walk from the city center and a 20-minute walk from the port. There's a restaurant on site, as well as bicycle, scooter, and car rentals. The cottages are clean and well-maintained, and equipped with air conditioning.

11/04/2026: The chicken is good, no doubt about it. But the miniatures you serve with it are truly hilarious, let me tell you. Tiny, squarish arancini, sad, and devoid of any toppings; tiny brioches with zucchini on top, ugh! Plus, they say they give you 6 miniatures and 6 arancini, but today I found 6 arancini and 3 miniatures (maybe my money was worth less?). I go to other chicken shops that are more generous and tastier!

31/12/2025: Order placed with Glovo (the restaurant uses its own drivers so Glovo only handles the orders): cold chicken, "gone" fried food (I would have called it potato chip spread) and an hour late compared to the scheduled time.

16/04/2026: Hotel Review – Location right in the heart of the Ballarò Market, Palermo *Good* - *Cleanliness*: Both rooms were impeccably clean. Full marks. - *Restaurant*: Outstanding, truly Michelin-star quality. Service, friendliness, team – everything was extremely courteous, charming, and service-oriented. Every dish we tried was flawless in both taste and presentation. The restaurant alone is worth a visit. - *Bed in Room 1*: Large and very comfortable. - *Room 1 Amenities*: Two bathrooms with toilets and showers, plus a freestanding bathtub in the bedroom, and two TVs. - *Service during room exchange and check-out*: Very friendly and competent staff member. Extremely helpful. - *Luggage storage*: Luggage storage was offered while waiting for the room to be ready. - *Size of Room 2*: Spacious. - *For my needs*: It was perfectly adequate for my needs. I'm very easygoing about this. *Bad* - *Location*: Right next to the Ballarò Market. Extremely loud and dirty. Construction sites everywhere, jackhammers all day long. No vacation atmosphere whatsoever. The views from the rooms are nothing but renovations and construction noise. - *Noise in Room 1*: Located directly in the courtyard. Restaurant patrons sit just 1 meter from the room door. A compressor behind the bed kept switching on all night – as loud as an air compressor next to your pillow. Sleep was impossible. - *Technology in Room 1*: Flickering lights, probably 20 different switches, transformer noises, until eventually nothing worked at all. - *Smell in Room 1*: It smelled musty. We had to empty the dehumidifier in the room three times in one night. - *Building Condition in Room 1*: Questionable. - *Room 2*: Extremely small bathroom, no bathtub. Dirty balcony. A less expensive room category below the suite would have even included a whirlpool, which we had actually expected with the suite. - *Check-in service*: The employee seemed arrogant, lacked charisma, no smile, and was neither charming nor service-oriented. No explanation was given about the room. The concierge did not offer the woman assistance with her luggage. There was also no greeting in the restaurant in the evening. - *Value for money*: €774.85 for 3 nights in a 4-star hotel. For that price, we had construction noise, technical problems, and a musty smell on the first night.

14/04/2026: A lovely and very quiet hotel right in the city center. We had a simply furnished room and the breakfast was adequate. The building itself is very nice and the staff was friendly. Great location.
