11/08/2025: I don't usually write reviews, but this time I felt compelled to share my unfortunately negative experience at this Michelin-starred restaurant regarding their gluten-free options. When I ordered, I had chosen the meat menu, but was told it was "better" to opt for the fish menu, as it tasted better in a gluten-free version. I'm sure this wasn't the reason, but it was the most expensive. For dessert, I was initially offered a simple lemon sorbet, and in the end, I was the one who suggested the solution: just serve the ricotta from the cannoli, as they didn't have any gluten-free options. Bread in Michelin-starred restaurants is usually artisanal, homemade, or from quality bakeries. Here, however, I was served a Schaer multigrain loaf. The entrées I was served were also fewer than those my companion had. The pasta was supposed to be with anchovies, fennel, and breadcrumbs: mine arrived without the breadcrumbs. As a Sicilian, I know that this dish, without its crumbs, is completely meaningless. In other Michelin-starred restaurants I've been to, in these cases, they directly change the dish to maintain its overall quality, not simply eliminate the gluten-containing ingredient. I've been to several Michelin-starred restaurants and have never experienced such a lack of attention to gluten-free options. This isn't a polemic: the staff was very kind, but there's plenty of room for improvement when it comes to gluten-free options. The price isn't ridiculous, and for this very reason, I expect the same experience and attention to detail given to all customers.

08/06/2025: Typical Neapolitan cartwheel pizza, quality ingredients. Excellent! Traditional Messina Pidone delicious, flaky and crunchy, gourmet pistachio arancino!!!

08/06/2025: All good, in keeping with the tradition of Messina rotisserie. Excellent focaccia with anchovies and arancini. To complete the evening, delicious croissants of excellent artisanal workmanship (not frozen).

16/06/2025: I have been to this restaurant with some friends of mine and we waited to pay for about half an hour because at that time the owner is busy doing something else even though he was passing in front of us and totally ignoring us. Very good food for goodness sake but the service very poor

15/08/2025: We had a wonderful August 15th day in Cefalù, and to top it all off, we had lunch at IL COVO DEL PIRATA restaurant. The welcome was warm, the food excellent, and the prices reasonable... the setting, right on the sea, was also excellent! I highly recommend it, and we'll be back if we can!

17/05/2025: Entering the place at 7:45 pm we breathe a very familiar air: it is very rustic, from another time, but it gives a lot of sense of home. Then when Manuela, the owner, arrives to welcome you, it is like the icing on the cake: her smile, her kindness and her availability complete everything. Small aperitif offered by the house. Very good pizza, soft, very seasoned, light and tasty... I highly recommend the "rustica" it really deserves to be tasted. Also the price, honest. We will definitely be back, see you soon.

03/09/2025: I was there in August because I was invited to a wedding. Excellent service, friendly staff, lovely setting. Good appetizers, made with fresh fish, first and second courses could be improved a bit. Really good desserts!

12/07/2025: We went for dinner, accompanied by local friends. The location is enchanting, and the owners were truly welcoming and professional. The food was plentiful, excellent quality, and there was a children's menu. The place doesn't offer an à la carte menu; you eat what's prepared that day. It may seem restrictive, but in reality, this resulted in a very high level of food preparation, carefully selected and well-balanced across the appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert. Highly recommended, but always call ahead.

12/08/2025: Authentic Sicilian food, very good service

12/08/2025: I give one star because I don't know how much less I can give! We arrive around 10 pm, the lady says, "Table for two ready right away." Fifteen minutes pass and we ask how long we'll have to wait. The lady who kept calling me "love" says, "Don't worry, it'll be free now!" Yes, we definitely wanted to know how long we'll have to wait. Finally, after 30 minutes, a table is free. I immediately point it out to the lady, and she says, "Did you see?" Another 10 minutes pass and the staff continues to do other things, not setting our table. The lady invites us to sit, "We'll set the table right away." After five minutes, she brings the tablecloth, then stop. They continue to clear tables, setting tables where no one was sitting, ignoring us. After five, ten, and fifteen minutes, we get up and leave.

25/08/2025: The pizza was delicious, the staff could be a little more attentive to requests, but otherwise highly recommended!

04/09/2025: The pizza was very average, 6/10 is the maximum. It wasn't burnt, but the dough was dry. Eat it when you're hungry. Be warned, they add a 25% service charge, which no one informed you about. Dinner was €28, service was €8... I don't recommend it.

26/08/2025: I reiterate what I said a year ago: We've been several times and the pizzas are well-topped, very good, and the prices are average. The place is nice, and the staff is kind and attentive. Just one small point: if the menu says "water by the liter," you expect a liter bottle, not a 75cl one. Regardless, I recommend it because we had a good time.

28/08/2025: We stopped here and were extremely satisfied with the food. The couscous was very good, along with the arancini and panelle sandwiches, all delicious and reasonably priced. Considering the extreme difficulty of parking in San Vito lo Capo, it was a lifesaver for us. Highly recommended, and I hope to return. Kudos to the guys who run this place.

26/08/2025: We were here today and had a great time! 😊 The place is very clean and welcoming. We had couscous and a panelle sandwich, and everything was delicious. The beer was very cold (which is not a given). Special thanks to the two guys who served us: super helpful and polite. We'll definitely be back!

24/08/2025: A disappointing experience compared to the reviews of the establishment. A 45-minute wait for pasta and pizza while other (Italian) customers were served before us. On top of that, we waited in the blazing sun without being able to move. As for the food, the pizza was delicious; unfortunately, the carbonara pasta was undercooked with a fatty piece of ham on top... Disappointed.

23/08/2025: The pizza was good but a bit heavy. I was disappointed that they brought the appetizers, which were just sandwiches, just to skim off the price. In fact, the price was €20 for those alone, which seemed a lot to me. Otherwise, nothing exceptional.

16/08/2025: Typical food with handmade sourdough. The service was spectacular. They served us today, even though we arrived a little late.

10/08/2025: Typical Sicilian cuisine, macaroni alla norma with top-quality baked ricotta. Excellent swordfish and savoury lemon rolls.
