25/05/2025: This was one of the best dinners we have ever had. My wife and I came here upon the recommendation of our rental host, and we are so glad we did. It was more than just a fine meal...it was an authentic Italian experience. Great atmosphere in a candlelit stone room, and great service from the family that owns the place. It is probably important to know that it won't be a typical restaurant experience...there is no menu (it is fixed price) and we didn't even know what would come out next. What came out was course after course of exceptional Italian food, and all for a very reasonable price. This was one of the most unique dining experiences I've ever had, and it was also one of the very best. I would highly, highly recommend coming up to the Ristorante Pepen.

So a very characteristic and intimate place suitable for romantic dinners Quiet and clean well furnished with clean toilets like few are seen Fast and informal service that puts you at ease Let's move on to the food: good wine list a series of appetizers two first courses two second courses and dessert Just the right portions that allow you to get to the end full The quality of the food is good. Let's move on to expectations; seeing the location one expects very imaginative dishes and innovative flavors instead the cuisine and the presentations are from a trattoria but not in a derogatory sense but in the good sense of the origins that is good and classic flavors that take you back to home cooking as it should be in trattorias. In conclusion if you are looking for a quiet and romantic place with good characteristic food ok but if you are looking for impressive dishes with innovative flavors look elsewhere

20/05/2025: The magnificence of the classic. Beautiful place, classic without nostalgic drifts. Owner in the dining room, star of the service that is super efficient and, thank God, silent and invisible when it needs to be. Everything is quality, from the minerals to the fine wines, to the napkins. Finally garlicky pesto, male, real, not the now widespread version, watered down to please everyone. Tasty, fresh, oven-fresh focaccias. Compact Umbrina, cooked with the utmost respect for the, very fine, raw material. More than honest bill, for me, even low.

Due to the known restrictions on alcohol, we limited ourselves to drinking water, but the place highlights a selection of top quality wines.

20/05/2025: The place is quite hidden, but once you get there, it's like you've found yourself in culinary heaven. Delicious seafood dishes. The service is very helpful and very nice. They will advise and help. The only thing missing was a menu in a language other than Italian. But since it's Italy, we had to manage somehow. Before we ordered, we were brought a piece of bread as an appetizer. I recommend you look for this place and see for yourself that this place is worth recommending.

15/05/2025: Wow, just wow. Anyone who enjoys authentic Italian cuisine with truly amazing seafood and fish will be in the best hands here. Super delicious, great ambiance, reasonable prices, and perfect service. Since everything is cooked fresh in-house, they can accommodate any requests, and everything we tried was simply delicious. For example, there wasn't a dessert on the menu that I liked. The chef said he had something else and brought out a wonderful cake. Insanely delicious and highly recommended.

19/05/2025: The pastificio serves delicious food at an excellent price-quality ratio. There are plenty of counters where you can sit and eat. It offers free Wi-Fi and power outlets to charge your phone, which was essential during the trip. There were a lot of local students eating lunch, which encouraged us even more to choose the restaurant.

01/06/2025: What can I say? We ate and drank very well at a price I would say more than fair for two first courses, two second courses and two desserts + water and wine. The atmosphere is adorable and intimate, very attentive and careful service, perhaps the only flaw was the heat that was felt in the room. The host is amazing and we happily stopped to chat… and let it not be said that the Genoese do not offer amaro (very good by the way) 😉

31/05/2025: Mixed experience at Osteria Rustichello I recently dined at Osteria Rustichello, a welcoming restaurant located in the heart of Genoa, a few steps from Brignole station.  Strengths: • The crunchy octopus with caramelized Tropea onions was the real star of the evening: perfectly golden on the outside, tender and tasty on the inside, accompanied by sweet onions that beautifully balanced the dish. • The lemon and basil sorbet ended the meal in a fresh and original way, leaving a pleasant memory. • The staff was kind and helpful, helping to create a friendly atmosphere.  Aspects to improve: • The first courses disappointed expectations. The scialatielli with clams, in particular, were excessively greasy and lacked the distinctive flavor of clams. • The waiting times between courses were quite long, making the experience less fluid than hoped. In summary, Osteria Rustichello offers some quality dishes and friendly service, but there is room for improvement, especially in the preparation of first courses and in the management of service times.

30/05/2025: After a superb cooking class at the Oliveto Castle, we proceeded to our next planned stop, the "Grand Hotel Savoia" situated along the Italian Riviera. We recommend this hotel for your stay in the Riviera. We reserved two Executive Triple Rooms. One room includes a private balcony overlooking the Italian Riviera harbor in Genova, while both rooms sport flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi access, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities. Sitting areas, walk-in showers and soaking tubs were among the amenities of our luxurious suites. The Grand Hotel stands as a historical landmark in Genoa, Italy. Dating back 120 years, the Grand Hotel Savoia stands as one of Italy’s oldest hotels, its historical grandeur now restored by means of a comprehensive refurbishment. Since 1897, their Guest Book has chronicled the signatures of eminent figures from the worlds of politics, art, performance, and music in Europe, a quintessential Belle Époque establishment. The hotel is situated in the historic center, 500 feet from the main city bus station and within 2 miles of the Aquarium on the pier, John F. Kennedy Pier, Magazzini del Cotone, and the Fiera di Genova. A refined breakfast buffet was served each morning on the terrace of the upscale Tralalero Trattoria Genovese hotel restaurant. We concluded each day with wine, cocktails, and appetizers in the upscale lobby bar. The customer service we received from the valet, front desk, restaurant and bar staff during our family vacation was outstanding. Our stay at the hotel in this picturesque historic Italian Riviera city was truly remarkable. Bravo! Bellissima!
