I went on Sunday evening with two friends. The owner was very friendly and accommodating, accommodating our request to eat right away as we had a short train ride home. He was very helpful, even letting us in 10 minutes before opening and having our trofie al pesto ready in no time. The location was top-notch, the food was delicious, and the owner was great. I absolutely recommend it to everyone, and if I ever return to Genoa, I'll gladly come back again!! I'd like to use this review to thank the owner again and congratulate him on the delicious trofie and his helpfulness (which is not a given).

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were greeted very warmly by the owner, who seated us even though we hadn't booked. We opted for fish, which was very fresh and excellent. Great location, fresh food, and friendly service.

"Discovered" thanks to my partner, I was pleasantly satisfied, pet friendly place for 2 small dogs, top fried anchovies and if the fish is not good you can taste the octopus too, excellent stockfish accommodated not to mention Edo's ice cream which incites crime :), perfect service.

Excellent place to eat in Genoa in the evening. The brazato se Manzo (pork loin cooked in wine for a long time) is very good, and the wine list and menu are excellent. The ambiance and excellent background music deserve special mention. The service is commensurate with the quality of the place. Excellent value for money.

When a restaurant surprises me, I prefer to return several times before writing a review. I want to explore the menu, try different dishes, make sure that first impression wasn't a fluke. At Osteria Rustichello, every visit has confirmed the same thing: this place is special. There are dishes here that literally transport you to another planet. The gnocchi have that perfect texture you only find when someone really knows what they're doing. The braised beef is one of those dishes that makes you close your eyes at the first bite. And the desserts...all exquisite. But if you ask me what to order, the answer is simple: the canestrelli with vin santo. Exceptional. One of those endings to a meal you remember long after you've paid the bill. But it's not just the food. The communication between the waiters and the kitchen is impeccable, a synchronicity that is noticeable and appreciated. And then there's the owner, always attentive to every detail from his post at the counter. I've only seen that level of care and attention in three-Michelin-star restaurants. Surprise after surprise. Osteria Rustichello delivers exactly what its name promises: authentic, rustic Italian cuisine, made with love. And with a professionalism few can match.

A very warm welcome. The dishes were delicious, as were the desserts; the vanilla ice cream with julienned orange, orange syrup, and pepper and salt was a superb combination. The service was impeccable and the bill very reasonable.

01/06/2026: Everything was good, and I will DEFINITELY find a way to return. The cold cuts were average, the cheese with hazelnuts was exquisite, the pansoti with a fantastic homemade filling were fantastic, the gnocchi and pesto were both high-quality, and the mixed Italian-style fritto misto was a bit lacking in variety (ham and cheese sticks, vegetables, apples, sweet milk, and a very thin cutlet), but well-made. The birthday cake was also homemade (not from a bakery), but beautiful and delicious (perhaps it could have been soaked a little more, but I've had much worse!!). But why ONLY 3 stars? (I gave 4, I know, but I didn't want to be graphically harsh.) I'll let the numbers do the talking. 23 people for a hundredth birthday. We sat down at 12:45, got up at 5:15. With a pre-arranged menu, you CANNOT have such endless downtime between courses! There was a 100-year-old woman at the table. Both the pansoti and the gnocchi cooked in a flash and, like the sauces, could have been made ahead of time. Everything, even the fried food, arrived on trays, so there was no need to plate it. I can't comment on the portions, nor on the price... It all becomes a bit marginal with such a long wait! More than an hour for the pansoti! Besides the 23 of us, there were only 3 other tables of 4 people maximum. ..

31/05/2026: We go there often when possible because we live near Masone. The food and selection are exceptional, with great service. It's a shame about the opening hours, as they don't open in the evenings, but only at noon. However, everything was very good, and the service was kind and attentive.
