16/04/2025: L'intérieur est d'un décoration soignée avec quelques objets anciens. Je n'ai pas à me plaindre de l'accueil, ces dames sont charmantes. Par contre au niveau culinaire, ce jour la, j'ai pris du Lapin façon Ligurie : Quelle déception !! Pas de goût, viande ferme, quasi pas d'accompagnement. Dans ce genre de plat, le lapin doit être plus doré. Plat que j'ai délicieusement apprécié dans d'autres restaurants de Ligurie mais ici ça n'était vraiment pas le cas . Pour le reste ma femme a pris des raviolis qui me semble être avec sauce basilique. Elle a aimé mais un peu plus aurait été mieux. Il y a des restaurant qui vous donne un petit quelque chose à grignoter ou boire en arrivant , ici non. Et rien aussi en partant. Rapport qualité prix pas bon .

11/04/2025: El ambiente y la música hicieron un buen escenario. Personal muy agradable. Reserva una mesa a través de WhatsApp. Número en la ventana. Cerrado un jueves. No estoy seguro de por qué Trip Advisor dice cerrado temporalmente. Está abierto. Desafortunadamente la comida no es genial. La sopa de garbanzos era más o menos garbanzos en un tazón, y queso a la parrilla, un charco de queso derretido en una pizarra. Estofado de conejo básicamente un tazón de huesos con unas cuantas aceitunas. Quizás pedimos mal o simplemente no a nuestro gusto. El vino tinto de la casa era muy bueno. ¡Desearía haber pedido pasta! Trató de ordenar local, pero en esta ocasión, no fue la decisión correcta.

19/04/2025: Incredible hosts! I don't write reviews unless something is beyond exceptional and I felt The Grand Hotel Portovenere was one of my best hotel experiences (and I have stayed at over 200 hotels) and deserved to be acknowledged! My friend booked the hotel for three nights and we shared a room. The price of the hotel was more than I would usually pay and even though the room was not very big, it was simple, elegant and comfortable. However, The service from ALL staff was beyond anything I have every experienced (even at the Four Seasons hotels). From the front desk staff to the restaurant manager and severs, house keeping and maintenance, and general manager, EVERY SINGLE one of them went out of their way to create a magical experience where we felt taken care of. It was more than people doing their job and "trying" to be good hosts. It was the very nature of the individuals, so kind and genuinely excited to be of service. Small examples: At dinner, the waiter suggested wine and when we hesitated, he brought out 4 different bottles for us to taste before deciding and was delighted to do it. We had a small issue with noise from a storm our first night (not the hotel's fault) but the restaurant manager must have been informed because we were treated to a drink and dessert. That night the wind was still insane and the hotel manager worried we would have another sleepless night offered us another room just to sleep in (away from the rattling wind)! He said he knew what a hassle it would be to pack up to change rooms mid stay and so we just took our phones and slept soundly. We didn't ask, he just offered truly wanting the best for our stay. The breakfast (included in the price of the room) was absolutely of the highest quality but again, the staff was remarkable and would remember our order from the day before and ask if we wanted it again and before we realized we needed something, they would just be there, making sure we had everything and more. I have never seen anything like it. Smiles and joy and great energy from every staff we encountered. This hotel should be up for a service award in the industry. Things often go wrong when you travel (bad weather, catching a cold, injury) but when you have a team that wants the best for you it makes everything better! P.S We used the spa and gym and had a massage, again a fantastic experience and facilities.

16/02/2025: The hotel's location is perfect, you can reach the center of Porto Venere with a 10-minute walk. Room facing the sea with a large panoramic window and a balcony with chairs and a table. Unfortunately, however, the curtains on the windows were thin and at dawn we woke up with the sun inside the room, impossible to continue resting. They put earplugs among the gadgets in the room but not the mask... a questionable choice given that the curtains are almost useless. Then in the room there was an unpleasant smell that came up from the toilet and drains. Let's get to breakfast: abundant but not adequate for a 4-star hotel, but really annoying, we started at 9.30, the time when breakfast was served was by 10, at 10.05 they started to take away the buffet while we were still eating... I'll start by saying that, being February, we were 2 couples in the whole room, so not exactly a crowd. After having removed everything, probably having noticed our disappointment, the waiter came to the table to tell us that, since breakfast time had ended a good 5 minutes before and they had to clear the table, after having actually already taken away the entire buffet, he asked us "do you still want something before I take it away?"... It seemed like a joke. Too bad because the night before they had been kind enough to serve us a glass of wine at the bar even though we had arrived shortly after the official closing time.

27/02/2025: Il locale è in un punto di passaggio, ma rimane un pochino nascosto la sera perché poco evidenziato da insegne luminose. I parcheggi sono pubblici, ma facilmente reperibili. Il locale è informale, pulito, diviso in due sezioni. Il personale è gentile e disponibile e veloce. Ieri sera è stata la prima volta che sono andata, insieme alla famiglia, e devo dire che i prezzi sono molto più che onesti e assolutamente ottimi in rapporto qualità prezzo. I salumi e i formaggi molli freschi e di qualità apprezzabile. Io ho assaggiato il menù di primo + secondo + contorno + dolce a €15,00 e l'ho trovato molto di mio gradimento. Consigliato.

14/02/2025: Ottimi panigacci sia con gli affettati che con le verdure, personale gentilissimo. Consiglio di prenotare con ampio anticipo per il fine settimana, nessun problema per i giorni infrasettimanali.

31/05/2025: We were there for dinner, as soon as we arrived the staff was arguing among themselves, once we sat down at the table they set the table by "throwing" the cutlery on the table. Leaving aside the comments on the order I made, the dishes were good, and also leaving aside the fact that the second courses arrived before the table was cleared of the first courses, but the thing that shocked me the most is that when I pointed out to the waitress that the side dish was dirty, she answered me accompanied by a giggle that she knew it.

31/05/2025: I confirm 100% the biblical waiting times. We were the first customers, no other tables occupied, but it took 35 minutes to bring a pizza and an appetizer!!! Let's not even talk about the quality of the pizza, really bad, horrendous. First time that it happens to me that the base of the pizza separates completely from the filling, there are only two possibilities either it was frozen or pre-cooked, in any case it's disgusting (the problem is that I read reviews where they praise the pizza, objectively you can't like this stuff, but what kind of rubbish do these people usually eat????)

26/05/2025: Very authentic food and friendly staff. They adjusted to all our "wishes", very relaxing. During the construction of the square, we believe the outside is even more nice. ... differenciates from the main ones there.

08/02/2025: Pranzo domenicale in famiglia allo zena. Locale pulito, staff gentile. Abbiamo preso: antipasto misto e anche gamberi di Mazzara, di primo pasta allo Zena (molto buona), pasta allo scoglio e pasta con bagna verde (porzioni abbondanti) quindi saltiamo il secondo e passiamo al dolce con una buonissima cialda + crema pasticcera più frutta e caffè per terminare. Da ripetere.

04/05/2025: Simple but well-kept structure immersed in wonderful nature. A place where you can relax as much as possible away from the crowds even on long weekends which are therefore generally very crowded. Splendid seaside location, excellent starting point for sea excursions and trekking routes, super quiet and welcoming. Andrea and his wife are very helpful, a special round of applause for the chef. Excellent raw materials but the chef's skill makes them superlative. I highly recommend it to regenerate body and mind.

11/05/2025: At around 5pm I parked without realizing it in what was the parking lot of the pizzeria in question, when in reality I just had to participate in the cutting of a communion cake in the adjacent restaurant. Once the cake is finished, I am preparing to leave with my 3 children (6pm perhaps) in the parking lot, my car next to the wall and another stuck to mine and placed sideways. A few minutes pass and the "owner" of this pizzeria appears shouting "problems??" I reply "yes I should go out but this car is blocked, I can't even get the kids in, do you know whose car it is by any chance?" He replies by saying that the car is his, I ask again if he could move it, he shouts NO, he had "people" at the club (no one) he turns and goes back to his pizzeria. A few moments later he comes back out barking something (in all of this I am shocked and my 3 children, including the 10 year old who was trying to defend me from this gratuitous and senseless aggression). He shouts that the car park is private and that because of me some of the customers were unable to stop (I repeat, empty car park, mine and his car), I apologize by saying that I hadn't actually seen that sign stamp that said private car park at the pizzeria (I specify that the car park as positioned would appear to belong to the restaurant where I was a guest), he goes back into his place still barking something and comes back with the keys; with a maneuver that to say the least represented all his repressed anger, regardless of the fact that we were on the side of the road and that there were 3 small children present, he nervously moves his car and, still screaming, retreats into his activity. I will be very careful to represent you and your place as much as possible in the worst possible way, since they are truthful. Given that BEFORE being evaluated on a gastronomic level, catering MUST have the ability and skills to DEAL WITH THE PUBLIC. FROM HOSPITALIZATION!!!

21/04/2025: Excellent management, especially the kitchen. The foiades were already excellent but the rabbit was fabulous: beyond the quality of the meat, the cooking was perfect. The meat melted in your mouth and fell off the bones with no problem. If I write it's because they deserve it. With sweet wine, coffee and grappa I spent 70 euros for two!

04/05/2025: Bel posticino in centro Camogli, vista mare con dehor esterno ombra/sole. Prezzi nella norma o appena più bassi di altri ristoranti della via. Ci fermiamo perchè il menu ci ispira e c'è un tavolo al sole. Ordinate le lasagne alle vongole e i ravioli di pesce. Non male ma decisamente deludenti, nulla di speciale o particolarmente gustoso. Il mio compagno ha preso il caffè e non è riuscito a berlo, era molto pastoso, ma magari è sfortuna. Vino ottimo e servizio cordiale. Non ne posso parlare male ma non ci tornerei.

17/10/2024: Tuvimos una experiencia increíble de principio a fin. El ambiente, el servicio y el sentido del humor eran los mejores, junto con la comida que era excepcional. Una experiencia obligada!

10/06/2025: Terrible service, one hour for 2 pizzas of which 1 was wrong: asked with little mozzarella, arrived after 1 hour completely white. Ordered pizza margherita with chips they made us pay the cost of pizza margherita plus 4 euros which was the cost of a plate of chips. Terrible management of the room, they continue to take covers and they don't even know how to manage 10!!!

10/06/2025: Historic place in the center of town. You can sit both inside and in the large outdoor terrace on the square. I highly recommend booking and a little patience for the assignment of the table, there are some peak moments where given the many people waiting and booked you need to wait anyway. The dishes are genuine and many local ingredients are used, such as fish, very fresh and tasty. The cuisine is mainly express with a few ready-made preparations and this is certainly a strong point, with high digestibility of the dishes. The pizza is special with a crunchy dough topped a little minimally (some slices remain only sauce). The strong dish is definitely the seafood pasta, very very good. Average portions, pretty good service with always patience however in waiting for the menus and then for the order to be taken, but once you have ordered the kitchen flies (the pizzeria is a little slower). Overall good, worth trying.
