07/12/2025: A very elegant restaurant, in the splendid setting of the Via Appia Antica. The staff were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and professional, and the dishes and desserts were excellent. After lunch, the owner helped us beyond our expectations by resolving issues with the taxi he had kindly booked for us to take us back to our hotel. Highly recommended in every way.

18/01/2026: I had dinner with my partner at Pascucci al Porticciolo last night. It's not easy to describe an experience like this. After just a few hours, I've already realized that you don't come here to eat well. There's no shortage of places to eat well these days. You go there to challenge your understanding of cuisine and flavors, you go there to step out of your comfort zone. I found a cuisine that demands attention, time, detail, and silence. A cuisine that speaks of the sea in every dish and in all its essence. We opted for the menu called "as deep as the sea is," which contains about ten courses. It's a progression of small touches, some delicate like the corn on the cob with passion fruit, others more rugged like the oyster with white chocolate granita. Certainly, nothing is there to please everyone. And that's precisely the point. Technically, we're at a very high level, but the technique is never a show-off; in fact, the dishes are sometimes extremely simple in their conception but complex in their serving and preparation. In the first course, "il mare in tavola" (sea on the table) with mixed pasta, I found a full, persistent flavor that contained every note of the sea. A round of applause for the delicate white grouper accompanied by burnt lime and green curry, escarole with béarnaise mayonnaise, and red mullet with foie gras and red berries. The Giarratana onion confit with mackerel is incredible. The green herb sorbet (I think basil and/or parsley) is incredible. Only the (sweet) soufflé didn't fully convince me. The service is remarkable, the staff is knowledgeable, always present but never invasive. The dining room has the same elegance as the kitchen: simple, concentrated, without frills, with classy paintings and sculptures that constantly recall the sea. The wine list is also impressive. Chef Pascucci and Mrs. Vanessa constantly accompany guests throughout the dining room during the presentation of the dishes and throughout the dinner. Superior to many other Michelin-starred restaurants of the same caliber (and even many with two stars), and above all, reasonably priced for the quality and technique on display. Here, you don't leave simply saying "how delicious." You leave thinking. And, for those who truly love cooking, it's worth much more.
29/12/2025: Recommended by a colleague who called the experience "unique." It's the second 1-star restaurant I've tried in Rome and the surrounding area. We weren't blown away by the overwhelming flavors, and compared to the other restaurant, we didn't comment as enthusiastically about the tastes and pairings as we did at the other restaurant. We found some pairings to be inconsistent and overpowering the primary ingredient. For example, the red mullet with red fruit powder. All in all, not a bad experience. But we expected an explosion of flavors that, subjectively, we didn't receive.

27/01/2026: Just for fun we asked Germini to recommend a restaurant in Monti for our last dinner in Rome and Tema came up. We gave it a go and was not disappointed. The menu had a lot of seafood dishes. We tried the octopus salad, grilled seafood, fried calamari and prawn, gnocchi and veal melanese. All the seafoods were very fresh and tender, the gnocchi was slightly chewy like it should be, the melanese was crispy but a little tough. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal.
13/01/2026: The restaurant is very good, delicious food at a fair price, great house wine and the desserts are incredible!!! I ate there 3 times during our visit to Rome, it was very good, we had to go back!! Special thanks to Francesco who was very kind and friendly with my children. He also made a special dish for my wife who was having stomach problems. He was very welcoming!!! I recommend it to everyone. My favorite: carbonara + beef fillet!!! Grazie Mille!!!

31/01/2026: Inspired by the excellent reviews, we decided to celebrate my husband's birthday at this restaurant. The only way to book was through the website, where they require advance payment (we opted for the €110 per person deal for six courses plus wine pairing), but we later understood why. Once we arrived, we realized the place was absolutely subpar, with a bad smell and inadequate bathrooms. But let's move on to the menu: bombastic, pretentious, and with unpleasant flavors, a "I'd like to but I can't" attitude, accompanied by subpar wines for each course (we looked up the labels online). Incredulous, we reached dessert, which we left untouched, and we left disappointed, realizing that most of the positive reviews are fake. One last point: the photos on the website are misleading and completely out of line with reality. Our only regret is that the waitress was helpful, however.
31/01/2026: The care put into both the food and the service really stood out. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, like it came straight from the farm. The staff treated us so warmly, it felt like we’d been coming there for years.

31/01/2026: Close to a Scam, Not Hospitality. Overpriced food and an unpleasant experience. The wait for main dishes feels intentionally long, clearly to push hungry guests into ordering expensive starters. It comes across as a sales trick rather than good service. Not worth it.

And by the way this is not a misunderstanding (like what they responded to other reviews) Though the food was great, we had a deeply uncomfortable experience here. To start off when we politely asked if the heating lamp could be lowered, the man looked us up and down with clear irritation, making us feel like a simple request was an imposition. It continued when my friend asked about vegan options. The waiter snapped “pasta and artichoke,” offering no explanation until asked further twice. He then incorrectly insisted she couldn’t eat pistachio, and when she clarified, he responded sharply with “I know what vegan is.” The tone throughout was dismissive and rude. The food may be fine, but the hospitality was the worst I’ve seen for a while. There are many restaurants that understand basic respect and customer service - this one unfortunately did not.

The food was one of our strong points: unique and refined dishes, meticulously crafted, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests. The location is stunning both day and night, with a breathtaking view and a simple, elegant decor. The service deserves a special mention: the staff was always present but never intrusive, attentive to timing, to the guests' requests, and especially to my needs. In the days leading up to the wedding, they patiently assisted me, answering every question and constantly reassuring me. On the day of the event, I felt truly supported, never "left alone," not even for a moment. I received so many compliments from friends and family. A sincere thank you to Diego for his availability, attention, and the passion with which he looked after us. A place I will always hold in my heart.

13/01/2026: After visiting Vatican City, we were hungry and searched on Yelp for a nearby place to eat — that’s how we found Piacere Molise. I’ll admit, when we first arrived, I almost didn’t want to go in. There are no outdoor tables, no servers calling people in, and nothing flashy trying to grab attention. But that’s exactly why this place is special. Once inside, we were so glad we stayed. The food was excellent — simple, well-made, and full of real flavor. What we loved most is that the dishes tasted incredibly good without being overly salty or heavy, which really shows the quality of the ingredients and the care in the cooking. It’s a true mom-and-pop shop, run with heart, not hype. This is the kind of place locals go to — honest food, no gimmicks, and a calm, authentic atmosphere. If you’re willing to look past first impressions, this spot is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates genuine Italian food done right. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
27/12/2025: Perfect! The food is excellent and you're welcomed like family. The handmade cannelloni with ragù are excellent... We're back during the Christmas season... what can I say about the gricia with artichokes? Nothing, because it's so delicious! One small downside compared to the second-to-last time: we noticed a smaller portion on each plate this time.
