21/07/2025: A Timeless Treasure in Torrice – Tradition, Heart, and Incredible Food If you’re looking for an authentic Italian dining experience steeped in tradition and heart, Trattoria da Sestilio in Torrice is it. This family-run restaurant has been around for decades and continues to uphold the same incredibly high standards of quality and care that date back to when the owner’s mother used to cook in the kitchen. When you imagine a true Italian trattoria—where everything is handmade, from the prosciutto and pasta to the sauces and desserts—this is exactly what comes to mind. There’s no cutting corners here. Every bite reflects a legacy of passion and tradition that’s increasingly rare to find. This restaurant also holds a deeply personal meaning for our family. My Nono used to walk over an hour from his house just to eat here, swearing they made the best tripe he’d ever had. This summer, we returned to Torrice for a family reunion and decided to honour his memory by making a reservation for 13 of us—grandparents, siblings, and grandkids included. It turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of our entire trip. The food was off-the-charts spectacular. From the handmade pasta to the generous antipasti, everything was bursting with flavour and clearly made with care. The wine flowed, the service was warm and attentive, and the desserts capped things off perfectly. We ordered so much food and loved it so much that we ended up staying far longer than planned—just so we could enjoy every last bite. The tripe was, of course, a standout. My parents both ordered it in tribute to Nono, and after just one taste, they completely understood why he used to walk so far to get it. They were so impressed, they each ordered seconds—not because they were still hungry, but because it was simply too good to pass up. Trattoria da Sestilio isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a living piece of culinary history, full of warmth, tradition, and soul. Whether you have roots in the area or are just passing through, this is one of those special places that leaves a lasting impression. We can’t wait to return.

20/07/2025: I went today with friends, and we had a great time! The place is a traditional trattoria, with fresh handmade pasta. The Sunday cannelloni were delicious! The sour cherry tart was out of this world. They offer—and be warned, offer—bruschetta as an appetizer and sweet treats at the end. The owner welcomed us into his home (literally, back in the day, it's a great story, ask him!), and the staff were kind and friendly, and the service was fast. The price was fair and reasonable (generous portions!) I had a starter, a main course, red and white wine, dessert, coffee, liqueur, water, and cover charge—all for €30. In Rome, I would have paid €50 and eaten less. We'll gladly return!

21/07/2025: When you book a meal from 15,900 km away, you hope that when the date and time arrives, the meal lives up to expectation. Moma more than delivered on all fronts. From the amuse-bouche and chef's snacks, the entrees, mains, pre-dessert, dessert, wines and petite fours on top of the ambience and excellent service, this was a very memorable and special meal in Rome. There was attention to detail, flair, exceptional flavours and beautiful presentation at every turn. Accompanied by Bresolin Asolo Prosecco DOCG to start, a 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Signore del Greppo Vannutelli and a 2021 Marco de Bartoli 'Bukkuram' Passito di Pantelleria with dessert, the wine selection and choices were perfect. Between us we had the sweetbreads diavola with plum ketchup, garlic and basic, the tortellini peach and basil, and the warm spaghettino with olive oil, onion reduction and goat's cheese. Each was well proportioned and tasty. Mains were BBQ pigeon with suprema sauce and dukka, the sheep loin in crepinette parmigiana with cream and miso mayonnaise, and the grilled octopus, tomato variations, with Mexican tarragon. Desserts were delicious, too, and the dishes named lemon vanilla and licorice and caramel popcorn don't really give a full impression of their complexity. So many mouthfuls of all the dishes were shared before adding in in the extras like pecorino ice cream between wafers and foie gras and other assorted goodies - another six tastes to share - and the flavours kept on coming. I thoroughly recommend Moma. It may not be in one of the trendier locations, but it doesn't need to be when the quality speaks for itself! Thank you Moma, for the exquisite and memorable dining experience.

29/07/2025: I went to this place because it’s walking distance from my hotel, it had good reviews and was a fish place, so a good alternative to the usual Roman restaurant. Service was impeccable, food was really nice (being honest, I gave a 4/5 because I am of the mindset that one can always improve but everything I tasted was very nice) and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The pistachio parfait was amazing! I could not ask for more. I will definitely come back!

26/07/2025: Absolutely fantastic experience at Ristorante di Pesce Chiaroscuro. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Every dish was a standout. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the attention to detail in each plate was clear. The risotto was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, but the real star was the tagliolini con calamaretti e lamelle di bottarga di muggine di Cabras. The fritto was light and crisp, not greasy at all, and both desserts, the cheesecake and tiramisù, were a pleasant surprise. Very very happy and satisfied. Will definitely be back.

11/09/2025: I highly recommend Ristorante Pizzeria Andrea. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We discovered the restaurant and loved it. For this reason, we went back for dinner the next day. The staff recognized us immediately. The lasagna and pizza are delicious. The bruschetta is also very good. The dessert is also a dream. A really nice idea: the tiramisu is served with a small espresso maker. At Ristorante Pizzeria Andrea, you can sit outside or inside. The ambiance is lovely. There are beautiful pictures of famous Rome sights hanging inside. A definite recommendation. If I lived in Rome, this would be my regular restaurant. :-)

19/08/2025: Unfortunately, in terms of value for money, this was the worst dining experience we had in Rome! The food was okay; we had two empanadas and one arepa. The empanadas were a bit bland, but the arepa was good. However, for two empanadas, one arepa, and two drinks, we came to around €35, which was simply too much for us in terms of value for money! It's more like street food than a restaurant.

10/08/2025: An excellent gourmet restaurant in a select and designer setting. Every detail is taken care of...amuse-bouches, bread, petit trou normand, mignardises... We returned during our stay to enjoy their 5 and 7-course tasting menus. The squab was particularly delicious, as was the ice cream for dessert. Very friendly staff. Very good value for money.

Polite and knowledgeable staff, thanks go to the waitress Loredana, very good at recommending and explaining the dish in detail (and that's not for everyone), I will definitely return, a wonderful dinner.

19/08/2025: Warm atmosphere with pleasant and friendly staff. The fresh tuna pasta was a little strong for me but it was still good. The melt-in-the-mouth fondant with the ice cream was to die for, you get the taste of chocolate without it being too sweet. One of the best fondants I've ever eaten in my life. I recommend you go there whether you're with friends, a partner, or family.

The food was absolutely delicious, we tried a variety of dishes and each one was full of flavour and well presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, helping with any questions we had. A true gem, definitely recommended!

04/08/2025: Dining available indoors or al fresco under a tent with hanging vines, etc -- very romantic. They specialize in huge, fresh white mushrooms as well as black truffles. We had the mushrooms, which are absolutely not to be missed. Pastas and fish completed the meal. Service was excellent and the wait staff swift, efficient and extremely gracious. The sommelier provided an excellent suggestion for wine pairing. All in all, a superb experience on a warm mid-summer night at sundown. We will be back! Just be aware, however, there are extra charges for bread, butter, still water (bottled) and a cover charge for the "tablecloth."
