Even though we hadn't booked, they welcomed us with great kindness and managed to find us a table. Excellent dishes, an authentic atmosphere, and a truly unique welcome. An excellent experience in every way. We'll definitely be back!

22/08/2026: Baracca e Burattini is one of those osterias that immediately make you feel at home. The atmosphere is welcoming, refined without being pretentious, with a warmth reminiscent of old-fashioned kitchens. The dishes truly taste like grandma's sauce: simple, authentic recipes, carefully prepared with a homey touch that's rare these days. The service is friendly and approachable, the timing is perfect, and the relaxed atmosphere allows you to enjoy your lunch without rushing. Excellent value, generous portions, and a menu that showcases Trieste's traditions with authenticity. An osteria that wins you over with its sincerity: no frills, just good food and a family atmosphere.

20/08/2026: A lovely discovery for us who stop by occasionally: excellent food, impeccable service, friendly service, and a great selection of music. Prices are average. We ordered: stuffed zucchini flowers and burrata, basmati rice with calamari, and potato waffles with caponata and mozzarella. The walnut and fig cream cake is an amazing finale 😱

25/08/2026: We visited this restaurant for lunch and appreciated the quality of the food and the freshness of the fish. The service was prompt, even when there were many customers. The wait staff was courteous and helpful. Salvatore, in particular, was truly kind, friendly, and professional, and offered a dessert that we thoroughly enjoyed.

18/08/2026: We arrived early and were greeted with amazing hospitality and service from the team at Ristorante Tommaseo. The food was excellent and the surroundings were very luxurious. We had a very lovely evening and would highly recommend.

19/08/2026: A small trattoria, seating about 25, very charming and well-maintained. The service is truly exceptional, and one of the restaurant's strong points: they explained the entire menu to us with great expertise and passion, explaining the dishes, ingredients, seasonality, and catch freezes. Since we weren't familiar with mussoli, they even brought them to our table to show us and explain how they're cleaned and prepared. This is an uncommon level of customer service. The sardoni in savor and creamed cod were excellent, as were the linguine with scampi and the chicche with sea bream and zucchini. The portions were adequate and the flavors very balanced. We finished with a traditional dessert and were kindly offered two glasses of local passito. €80 for two, including wine, was absolutely fair. Excellent cuisine, but above all, the service truly deserves its 5-star rating.

12/08/2026: We chose to dine on traditional dishes and, "luckily," made a reservation at Osteria Marino. The service was fast, welcoming, and willing to listen and offer advice. We had Frico, bigoli, and caldarroste pasta for dinner. The atmosphere was quiet and well-organized. Excellent food. Recommended.

26/06/2026: I already knew I Maestri and had fond memories of it, which is why the episode left me even more perplexed. I was a guest with a reservation for two at 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, my train was delayed, so the restaurant was notified by phone: the understanding was that we would try to arrive by 9 PM, when the kitchen closed. When we couldn't, we ended up not showing up. An unpleasant mix-up, certainly. No one denies it. But the real highlight came later, when the owner decided to call to yell, accuse, and complain in an aggressive tone, turning a reservation cancelled due to a train delay into a dress rehearsal for a nervous breakdown. I would have understood the annoyance, a criticism, even a curt reprimand. I understand much less the need to launch into a frantic phone tirade, as if two missed table settings automatically authorized the suspension of good manners. A shame, because I fondly remembered the restaurant. Now I will remember it above all for the unexpected post-booking service: unwanted, shouted at, and definitely more indigestible than any bill.

25/06/2026: We finally managed to get a reservation at this small seafood restaurant in Trieste. The fish was incredibly fresh, and some dishes were original in their combinations. The owner is very kind and friendly; it was very hot, so she brought me a fan. A very positive experience, fair prices.

15/08/2026: Definitely not recommended. Overcooked plaice on greasy potatoes for 70 euros. The service was incompetent.

08/08/2026: A really lovely, small, somewhat tucked-away, upmarket fish and seafood restaurant, although starters and pasta dishes with vegetables as a main course are available for vegetarians on request. The food is truly delicious; the drinks menu focuses mainly on wines, although even the house white and red wines pair well with the food. The staff are attentive and the atmosphere is very pleasant, although some road noise from the nearby main road is a bit of a nuisance. Booking is advisable. Highly recommended for special evenings!

22/08/2026: Incredibly friendly waiters, a fantastic atmosphere in a side street away from the heat, and the food was absolutely amazing. The chef, I think his name is Michele, does incredible work. I've rarely had such good mussels as a starter, and the delicate pasta with lemon verbena and fresh, raw tuna cubes was pure culinary heaven ❤️👌

20/08/2026: Let me start by saying I'm just offering my experience. The pizza was good and the staff was very friendly. The tables were too small, the place a bit shabby, and most importantly, the tiramisu wasn't tiramisu at all. It wasn't creamy enough, and it wasn't made with traditional ladyfingers but with Oreo-style cookies. It was heavy at the end of the meal. It's possible, but when ordering, it should be made clear that it's not the classic recipe.

18/08/2026: Very quick service, medium-thick pizzas but very good. The staff is very friendly and ready to welcome the diverse clientele, including the "hit-and-run" tourists who disembark for a few hours from a charming cruise ship.

04/08/2026: This osteria is small but very welcoming! The mussels are fantastic, and the other dishes are simple but well-cooked and made with quality ingredients. The prices are reasonable for the location and the quality of the food. The staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

14/08/2026: Came at lunch when not too busy and was a very good experience. Waiter told us we were ordering too much and ultimately he was right as we were full even after paring it back. Food and service were both excellent, the pizza dough was exquisite and even the bread was better than most.

14/08/2026: The pizza here is excellent, without a doubt. We visited three times and tried quite a few different pizzas, and the quality of the dough was consistently outstanding — fresh, perfectly prepared, and always the same high standard. I would definitely recommend the Quattro Formaggi, the pizza with the local cheese, and the Margherita. However, I would not recommend the pork pizza that the waiter suggested to us. The flavor was too overpowering, and the combination of toppings, including the pickles, didn’t work well together. A few things were disappointing, though. One day we came with our child and were charged a coperto for him, which I really don’t understand, especially since nothing was even set up for him. On another visit, we ordered French fries for him, but they forgot to bring them. Service was also noticeably slower compared with last year, when everything worked like clockwork. Overall, great pizza and excellent dough, but the service and a few details could definitely be improved.
