12/01/2025: Absolutely fantastic dinner. Everything was very tasty, bruschettas, salad, branzino fish, tuna, desserts. Capellacci stuffed with squash were insanely tasty. Great service, good recommendations. Absolutely nothing to fault. Book ahead as the place is small and gets busy even on a Sunday night.

25/11/2024: I work in the restaurant industry and I find the numerous reviews funny that point to the staff as "rude", a description that is absolutely at odds with our experience. The owner and the waiter were kind, I ate excellent Istrian drumsticks with duck. As a Sardinian, it was impressive to also find some Guttiau in the bread basket, in honor of the many years spent in Sardinia by the owner. Obviously for many it means nothing, but as an islander who comes to the far north of Italy it is a much appreciated peculiarity and which I am sure cannot be found in any other local restaurant. I would like to conclude with a reflection: it is true that the prices are not among the most affordable, however this is a restaurant that mainly serves fish-based dishes and also of good quality... I remember that the fish cannot be beaten down from the trees , therefore it has its cost.

18/01/2025: Davvero buonissimo,personale disponibile e educati, un ambiente caloroso, semplice ma intimo, personalmente lo consiglio a parenti e amici, in quanto, ottimo per cenare bene,e a livello qualità prezzo e davvero onesto. 14/01/2025: Gita a Trieste in una giornata fredda e soleggiata, per godere finalmente di un po’ di tranquillità, dopo esserci lasciati alle spalle le frenetiche feste natalizie e di fine/inizio anno. Navigando, il ristorante che abbiamo scelto per il pranzo, è situato quasi di fronte alla stazione marittima, con vista sulle “rive”, sul mare del golfo di Trieste, e sulle montagne sullo sfondo, visibili grazie ad una giornata estremamente tersa. Il locale ci è apparso subito vivace e accattivante, grazie all’ambiente accogliente ed informale; all’esterno, in un’area delimitata subito prima dell’ingresso, un dehor con diversi tavoli, che sicuramente offre un’ottima ospitalità nella bella stagione, o comunque in giornate dalle temperature più miti e gradevoli. Varcata la soglia, e saliti alcuni scalini sulla destra, ci ha accolti la sala da pranzo soppalcata, con i suoi tavoli ben disposti (ho valutato una trentina di coperti), allestiti in maniera semplice ma gradevole. Molto accogliente e gentile il personale, che si è rivelato nel corso del pranzo molto attento alle nostre esigenze, propositivo ed estremamente professionale. Il protagonista del menù è il mare, con varie declinazioni di ricette classiche, ma anche di guizzi di fantasia e creatività; denominatore comune la materia prima freschissima, che viene preparata al meglio ed offerta in porzioni generose, seguendo una filosofia di “cucina pop” di cui il locale va a buon titolo fiero. Qualche proposta è comunque dedicata anche agli irriducibili mancati sostenitori del pesce, con qualche antipasto e primo piatto a loro dedicato, alcuni piatti di carne, ed una scelta limitata di pizze. Tra le tante appetitose proposte noi abbiamo iniziato con dei tris di antipasti, con i quali abbiamo gustato il “Cremoso baccalà mantecato e carasau all’origano”, il “Savor” di gamberi (con gamberi, cipolla caramellata, alloro, pinoli e pepe), il Sautè di cozze alla triestina (particolarmente apprezzato da mia moglie, con cozze saltate con pomodorino fresco, limone, vino e prezzemolo), la Caldaia di mare (calamaretti e gamberi cotti a vapore, su un letto di patate, taccole verdi e insalatina), e la Tartare di tonno. Siamo poi passati ai primi piatti, rispettivamente lo “Scoglio ai frutti di mare” (spaghetti quadrati artigianali di pasta fresca con cozze, vongole, scampo e calamari), e la Calamarata al ragù rosso di mare (preparato col pescato del giorno). A seguire, un solo secondo piatto, il “Fritto Triestino Royale, con salsa Navigando”. Concessaci una breve pausa, abbiamo concluso in dolcezza, con Crema Catalana ai fiori d’arancio, ed un Sorbetto al limone. Abbiamo bevuto una bottiglia di ottima Vitovska, acqua minerale, e caffè Illy conclusivo. Ritengo di poter riassumere così la nostra prima, ottima esperienza gastronomica: piatti eccellenti e pieni di gusto, tempi di attesa davvero minimi, nonostante la notevole frequentazione, servizio cordiale, attento ed estremamente cortese, ambiente caldo ed accogliente; conto in linea con la qualità ed a mio avviso assolutamente equilibrato, per un alto rapporto qualità/prezzo.

06/01/2025: I booked Christmas lunch for two people, already upon arrival we had to wait to be seated even though ours was the last free table. Throughout the lunch the lack of presence of the staff made the experience absolutely negative. The environment is very welcoming but we immediately had to wait to receive a menu before ordering, empty plates left on the table. There were at least four waiters but they were all in the other, inner room. Good but extremely small mullet appetizer, 10x5 cm tile in the photo for the price (€18), decent spaghetti with clams, a bit of liveliness was missing. Even there I had to wait to get some pepper to grind and had to stand with my head turned and my arms raised to try to catch the attention of one of the waiters who was going from the counter to the other room. Good dessert, revisited rigojanci. A mini pre-dessert was appreciated. For the choice of wine, instead of verbally indicating the labels available for a glass, the waiter brought to the table four bottles that were in the ice, placing them on the table, wet the tablecloth, unprofessional. I would have appreciated a little more attention from the waiters. When asking for the bill, I wasn't even asked if we would like to have a coffee or a bitter. In conclusion, the food was good, the price was a little too high for what is offered, and the service was very poor. It's nice how a basket of bread with various qualities is served, all homemade, which partly justifies the €5 cover charge. I will try to give them another chance on another occasion.

02/01/2025: Locale di alto livello, non tipico locale, anche se la base è la cucina triestina. Rielaborazioni piuttosto sofisticate ed ardite , con risultati eccellenti. Carta dei vini importante, con la presenza di etichette straniere (anche insolite, come un vino libanese). Prezzo ovviamente congruente alla qualità, servizio impeccabile ma colloquiale, ci si sente ben accolti e con simpatia: nonostante il locale fosse completo sino riusciti a trovare uno spazio anche per noi.

01/01/2025: Delicious busara fettuccine. The scampi on the plate were very fresh and the portion was generous. The restaurateur recommended an excellent Friulian wine (Petrucco) which was appreciated by all the guests and was perfect with the pasta. Great experience!

15/12/2024: I'm very sorry, but 17 euros a liter of draft wine is beyond exaggeration. For the rest, a beautiful and classic place in Trieste, prices that are absolutely out of the norm even though they are specified in the menu.
