20/03/2026: A great experience. A casual lunch on a Friday, well before season, and this place is packed with locals. I strongly recommend a reservation, even for lunch. In fact, the place is so popular with locals that there are two seatings: 12.00-13.15 and 13.15-14.30. Of the three people that were working the lunch today, all had good English, so don't be afraid to call and book your reservation. I began with the insalatino di Speck and a glass of the house Friulano, followed by a glass of the house Refosco, and the pasta prepared with Refosco wine, ground sausage and smoked ricotta - both were totally brilliant and served at perfect temperatures. Worth every penny and then some. I will definitely return the next time I pass through Trieste. Highly recommended.

11/03/2026: It's a bit noisy, but the food is great and it attracts people. As a huge plus, I would point out that I made a reservation outside of working hours and it was confirmed. There is a modest level of service, and they definitely deserve more.

14/03/2026: It's not worth it; there are better coffees in Trieste, and the service is terrible. Poor service, inattentive staff, and more expensive than any other café. The views are the only redeeming feature.

01/03/2026: Best restaurant I visited on this trip to Trieste. A simple, family-run trattoria with excellent service and fantastic food. The atmosphere is simple and small, with tables inside and some on the sidewalk. Impeccable, friendly, and very efficient service. They adapted one of the dishes to be vegetarian. The menu features great local options: start with the buttered cod and then order the house specialty pasta, with a sauce cooked for hours, and seafood. Good selection of house wines. Well worth a visit!

08/02/2026: A historic restaurant, very unique, but also a bit anachronistic, like all of Trieste. The fish dishes are classic and truly excellent, not particularly sophisticated, but the price is, in my opinion, unjustifiably high, especially considering the standard service (€3.50 cover charge!) I would recommend it anyway.

07/03/2026: Seafood restaurant located on Via Luigi Cadorna in the city of Trieste in a small, informal, clean and very welcoming place where you can enjoy excellent fresh fish appetizers, delicious and tasty first courses and tasty second courses, recommended mixed fried fish, good desserts and sorbet, all accompanied by an excellent selection of wines with kind, attentive and friendly service.

07/02/2026: A charming and welcoming atmosphere in a strategic location, close to the city center but slightly out of the way. We chose this well-reviewed little place and had a great time. The appetizers were excellent, and the main courses were also good. A bit disappointing with the millefeuille dessert, which was a shame. The wines were reasonably priced. The prices for the dishes were perhaps a little on the high side, but fish has its price. It cost about €70 per person for three courses.

16/02/2026: A trattoria where you can immerse yourself in the traditional flavors of Trieste, surrounded by a cozy atmosphere. We started dinner with frico and a cheese platter: the frico was good, although we've tried better, but the variety of cheeses and the homemade apple and pepper compote were excellent. The variety of bread served is noteworthy, especially the onion one (it's a shame there was only one left, because it was truly delicious!). The real highlight of the evening, however, was the strucoli in straza: a fresh pasta dish with ricotta and a savory and flavorful cabbage cream. A first course I highly recommend! Super friendly staff.

I don't like taking pictures of food, but today I made an exception... ...we've been back and will be back again. This time I'm sharing the before and after of two dishes....superb!!! Thank you

11/10/2025: Recommended trattoria, with tasty and beautifully presented seafood dishes. Friendly owners. We opted for mussels with chili pepper instead of pepper, and instead of the mussels with pepper, we opted for mussels with impeperoncina (a type of mussels with pepper), followed by fish gratin and sardines in saor (sautéed sardines). The house wine by the glass is good, both still and sparkling. Prices are reasonable. Free street parking is available near the restaurant. Worth a stop for some food and wine.
