24/02/2026: I've been to Marinato's in Trieste and had a great time. Excellent pizza and carefully prepared dishes. The portions are generous and the flavors are balanced, without being overbearing. I highly recommend their pistachio tiramisu! The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is friendly. Prices are in line with the quality offered. I'd gladly return.

18/01/2026: The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, but I honestly like it. Everything else is great! The welcome, the food, and the staff are exceptional. We've been there many times now, and the selection of appetizers is always superb—from raw to cold, cooked, fried, and au gratin—it's a menu we enjoy. The house wine is also good. I've brought friends, work colleagues, sports colleagues, even my employees, and we've all been satisfied. Of course, you have to book well in advance, but it's worth it. Last but not least... the price is absolutely affordable for everything you eat. I think we'll definitely be back.

27/01/2026: It was a wonderful day with 10 young friends... Organized specifically to meet at the restaurant on Sunday for lunch, where we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. We found exactly what we were looking for. Kudos to the owners, Signora Teodora's cuisine is a must-try... simple and traditional dishes, but full of passion and flavor. Signor Ferdinando is an experience not to be missed; he is the soul of the place, a sincere and kind person who makes you feel at home. It's fair to say that the place isn't for everyone... it certainly leaves no room for hypocrisy, but tells and brings to life a piece of history that has left its mark. Congratulations again and always onward!

04/01/2026: I can't comment on the food because, despite having booked for the evening on Saturday morning, January 3, 2025, I found the restaurant closed. There wasn't even a sign apologizing, and obviously they didn't let me know. I don't think this is Triestine hospitality. However, people like this make an entire community look bad.

We chose local seafood dishes, and the quality of the ingredients was evident: incredibly fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. The attention to detail and choice of ingredients, respecting flavor and the local area, was evident. The dishes were well-crafted, balanced, and truly delicious from start to finish. A special mention for the local eel, which was truly spectacular: it's hard to find it this well-prepared, and here it was impeccably prepared, showcasing its flavor to the fullest. The staff was also friendly and helpful, making us feel welcomed and comfortable. We'd happily recommend this place to anyone looking for good seafood, simple but well-prepared. We'll definitely be back!

19/01/2026: I had some Cape Lunghe as an appetizer, which were out of this world. The first courses were definitely good (though I wasn't thrilled, hence the 4 stars), but they made up for it with a Mixed Fried Fish dish that was exceptional in terms of flavor, variety, quality, and abundance. The desserts were also top-notch. Good wine. Impeccable service, a rarity nowadays, with staff listing the entire menu from memory and suggesting things with a certain charm, and short wait times despite the dining room being packed with diners. The price was definitely in line with the amount eaten and the quality, and certainly even slightly lower than comparable restaurants.

30/12/2025: Excellent restaurant, you pay little and you eat a lot, friendly, smiling and attentive staff... I recommend taking 1 dish to share between 2 people because the portions are generous.

13/12/2025: How much can go wrong if you stay in business for decades? The portions are for two, so they're a bit more expensive plus the cover charge, but still quite affordable for two people. It's certainly not a high-end restaurant, but it's pretty solid/good.

The waiters were excellent, always kind and with just the right amount of humor to put you at ease. They recommended dishes impeccably, and every suggestion was spot on. The restaurant is also beautiful, with a refined and elegant interior. A truly excellent experience, I'll definitely be back!

01/03/2026: After years, I've had to order from a place with no menu or wine list. I don't even joke with the waiter, telling him I'm having a hard time and would like to know the cost of my order, and he tells me to "don't worry." We paid €155, which would have been €110-120 in much cooler places in Trieste. The service was also too homely for a seafood place, and considering the price, it's not worth mentioning. Overall, it was significantly below expectations.
