23/02/2025: We found ourselves by chance, wandering around the alleys of Matera, 3 couples of friends, food of excellent quality and quantity, we shared appetizers, had a super abundant first course that left no room for anything else, very attentive staff, I highly recommend it!

20/02/2025: Cute little restaurant near the Sassi area of ​​Matera. I found myself on a Monday evening where all the other restaurants in the area were closed so I chose it almost by chance. Externally it is a restaurant that recalls the old restaurants of the past, but inside the room is very nice and the service was a little slow because there was only one waiter. Forethought I don't feel like failing or extolling either. The standard starters, the first courses, did not satisfy me at all, especially the Carbonara Lucana. I thought I would find much better but in reality it did not satisfy me at all because it does not at all resemble the real carbonara to my taste, the real flaw. 10/02/2025: Siamo entrati in questo locale e ci siamo accorti sin da subito che l’unica cosa che mancava era il mare cristallino della Grecia . L’atmosfera , i sapori , i profumi la ricordano completamente . Proprietari deliziosi che mettono tanto amore e passione per il lavoro che fanno e i risultati seguono . Piatti eccellenti ed abbondanti . Abbiamo preso una carrellata di antipasti ( la moussakà deliziosa ) e bevuto buon vino , il tutto accompagnato da musica tradizionale . Prezzi onesti . Bravi !

14/01/2025: Mi spiace scrivere della mia esperienza deludente ma purtroppo nulla è andato bene. Il ristorante è bellissimo, cucina a vista arredo in grande stile, tavola senza tovagliato come ormai è solito nel locali alla moda. Fino a qui tutto bene Personale gentile, nulla da dire. Veniamo al cibo. 1 se opti per una cucina a vista devi poterla gestire. Non possono esserci dei bambini in cucina che si prendono da mangiare o si versano acqua, che vanno avanti e indietro lasciando zaini nel corridoio che porta ai bagni. E lo dico da mamma, per farvi capire che a me i bambini piacciono ma ci sono contesti in cui non vanno bene. La proprietaria che entra a metà pranzo con la busta della coop per portare qualcosa in cucina. Gente che entra ed esce...2 se hanno imposto le cuffiette per i capelli per cucinare, un motivo c'è e se non la si usa il rischio di trovare qualcosa di indesiderato nel piatto è alto. A noi è successo due volte nello stesso pranzo. Aprire la lasagna chiusa e trovare un capello, non è molto piacevole. Siete un bello staff e vale la pena migliorarsi perché il locale lo merita. I miei vogliono essere consigli, spero utili per raggiungere la qualità degna del locale

The seafood cuisine is of excellent quality, with well-prepared dishes and fresh ingredients. All accompanied by a suggestive atmosphere thanks to the position on the port. A restaurant that I recommend to those looking for good food and a pleasant setting in Maratea.

15/02/2025: My dining experience at Ristorante 1999 was truly exceptional. From the moment we entered, the welcoming atmosphere and the very attentive, friendly and cheerful staff. My boyfriend and I took the carefully chosen menu of the day for Valentine's Day, which offered a delicious range of dishes from starters to desserts, all expertly made with simple, fresh, high-quality ingredients and exemplary combinations, every bite was a delight! We can't wait to return to explore more of their delicious creations. Highly recommended!!!

05/01/2025: Not really a place to recommend for various reasons, of lack of communication between the kitchen and the dining room first and foremost, unprofessional waiters, raw meat sent back to the kitchen for the same reason, beer finished at 8pm on Saturday evening both in bottles and on tap, bill of Randomly made pizzas average according to the waiter. So not to be recommended.

Scenography and furnishings that go well with the room created from an old water collection tank. A stop not to be missed when visiting Matera.

As soon as you enter, you can feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks also to the kind and always smiling staff. The offer of dishes ranges from those typical of Matera cuisine to innovative fine dining ones with the only constant being refined and excellent quality ingredients. I recommend the pignata, a dish with a convivial and overwhelming flavour....

03/02/2025: A fantastic restaurant a stone's throw from the Sassi. A very relaxing atmosphere and the food is really delicious. Definitely the best place we stayed in Matera. With The Fork we then took advantage of a pretty good discount. Very highly recommended!
