15/10/2025: Nice osteria in a beautiful cellar vault. Since we only had one night in Penne, we only ate there once—we would have certainly eaten there more often otherwise. Both starters, main courses, and dessert were really, really, really delicious. There was also a very good house wine and super friendly service. Absolutely fantastic value for money—I highly recommend this osteria. We wish we had a restaurant like this around the corner from home :)

07/11/2025: It takes luck to get a table, even on weekdays. Reservations are required. To find the place, it's best to know the area. The streets are typical of inland Abruzzo towns with beautiful scenery. Drivers should be careful not to be distracted, and it's recommended to drive slowly and carefully. The restaurant is simple, and the staff is very friendly and can offer recommendations. The food, with a limited menu, is excellent for those who love certain dishes. The drinks are good. The price isn't excessive. We tried for three years before we finally managed to book at least 10 days in advance. Anyone who loves the flavors of Abruzzo will certainly be pleased.

31/10/2025: The service was 5 star and the food was yummy and many gluten free options including pizza and pasta (especially important for those with celiac disease). The presentation of the food was very artistic, i felt like i was in a museum. the service very attentive. The venue is perfect for a wedding or large birthday.

07/09/2025: A typical restaurant in the heart of Vasto. We ate truly wonderfully. Simple dishes, yet rich in flavor and tradition. We had the cacio e ove (cheese and egg) meatballs and Vasto-style eggplant. Everything was delicious, but the tomato flavor was truly intense and full-bodied. Then the ravioli with ventricina and ravioli with burrata and zucchini pesto and chopped pistachios. These were also superb. If I really had to find a flaw, it was the above-average price of €64 for two appetizers, two first courses, and two bottles of water.

02/12/2025: A pizzeria that needs no praise; the quality of their dishes is well known. This time I tried the five-starred pizza with crusts stuffed to the pizza chef's specifications...they were all delicious. It wasn't easy to finish, but it was worth it. I recommend trying the fried carbonata and cacio e pepe appetizers; they're bursting with deliciousness.

02/12/2025: I ordered the Bella Spagnola pizza from Carpe Diem, convinced by the photo and the description: a crust filled with ricotta and Iberian chorizo ​​mousse, fiordilatte mozzarella, 36-month Riserva Iberian ham, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. The expected result—as shown on the menu—was a rich, well-topped, and visually refined pizza. What I received, however, was a different story: a pizza decidedly different from the picture, with far fewer ingredients and an almost "bare" appearance. The ham was present in small quantities, the basil barely hinted at, and, most importantly, the buffalo mozzarella mentioned in the description was completely absent. Even the crust filled with ricotta and Iberian chorizo, one of the dish's signature elements, didn't seem to have the promised richness. For a €17 pizza, I expected a significantly higher standard, both in terms of the quality of the preparation and in its faithfulness to the advertised product. The difference between the official photo and the actual product is too great to ignore. A real shame, because the recipe idea is excellent, but the execution in the take-out version was disappointing.

02/11/2025: Very fast service, helpful and dynamic staff, more than good food quality, honestly a bit steep bill (1 appetizer, 2 first courses, 1 beer and 1 glass of wine more than €70 in total).

12/10/2025: Everything was delicious! A fantastic family lunch. We enjoyed a varied selection of appetizers, first courses, and meat-based second courses, prepared with the highest-quality ingredients and meat from select regional farms. Each course stood out for its meticulous presentation and balanced flavors, highlighting the passion and expertise of the kitchen, accompanied by a wide selection of wines. The attention to detail and the exquisite courtesy of the staff, always helpful and professional, were particularly commendable. An excellent gastronomic experience that fully deserves to be recommended—sorry... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Special thanks to Chef Piero and Concezio for the service.

11/11/2025: Vegans take note! I had a beautiful dining experience at Civico 20. I was greeted like family during a very busy time when I did not have a reservation. I dined outside with a beautiful view of the castle and mountains. They have several delicious vegan options on the menu. Warm bread and fresh olive oil for dipping started the meal. I had the Peasant’s Soup for antipasto. It was a warm and delicious stew. I then had the Rintrocili pasta dish which was pasta and mushrooms cooked to perfection in a truffle cream sauce. I had no room for dessert but they even have vegan dessert options. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant (whether you’re vegan or not). It was the perfect ending to my castle visit. 03/11/2025: Terrible experience. Upon arrival, the waiter showed us our table without even showing us around. From the moment we ordered, we waited an hour and a half without even getting the requested entrees, and all this without the slightest apology from the staff. Another sore point: between each customer, the tables are cleaned with a duster and the tablecloths are not replaced. Following your response, I inform you that we called 40 minutes before arriving; when we arrived, many tables were still empty. Your precious olive oil had not been touched at all, and yes, we ate bread and drank water. We ordered three different entrees, not five, as you claimed. We didn't order appetizers. Is that mandatory? If you had informed us of the difficulties you were having, we wouldn't have ordered entrees, but rather something else. Furthermore, you were signaled to you several times, but you never approached our table. Before leaving, my husband came into the restaurant to pay for our order. There are no photos, but can you tell me what I should have photographed? I understand that a negative review is annoying, and your response, dear restaurateur, speaks for itself.

12/10/2025: I was in Villa Rosa, and I stumbled upon this chalet by chance. I was very pleased with the service, the price, and finally, the food, which was nothing short of extraordinary! The staff was super helpful and the location was top-notch!

01/09/2025: Last day of opening before the holidays: warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere. For my appetizer, I chose the arrosticini: very good flavor, but let down by the sloppy plating that made them almost resemble a can of dog food. The maltagliati, unfortunately, didn't impress: the seasoning was barely perceptible and the flavor was undefined. The lamb casserole also wasn't convincing, with flavors that were too delicate and lacking in punch. A real shame, because for a €44 dinner, I expected more satisfaction and a few more surprises.

19/08/2025: Excellent food and value. The dishes use top-quality ingredients. The wine list is good, though not particularly extensive, which isn't a problem at all, but makes choosing easier. The staff is very kind and friendly. The experience is worth repeating.

We were truly satisfied with the food, fresh pasta dishes made to order (four of us chose four different dishes, testing the chef's patience). Everything was delicious, and the welcome was truly top-notch. Thank you.

12/10/2025: A very nice atmosphere, even intimate. It's easy to imagine the size of the place, but it was packed. Good appetizers, excellent ingredients. The mushroom-based first courses also deserve a mention.

29/10/2025: This restaurant is a must-visit! The raw, hot, and cold dishes are simply phenomenal: the freshest ingredients, generous portions, and always well-balanced toppings. Even the first courses are a veritable explosion of flavors, rich in seafood and prepared with great care. Attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere complete an experience truly worth trying. Highly recommended for lovers of good seafood!

16/10/2025: We ate well-prepared, high-quality dishes made with genuine, minimally processed ingredients. Their "Vecchia Marina tagliolino" is a must-try. The staff was courteous and friendly, and Giovanni was an excellent host. The prices were fair. Parking was right in front of the restaurant (we came in October). We'll be back with great pleasure!

Chef Angelo, with his infinite patience and professionalism, guided us step by step, explaining every detail clearly and sharing with us tons of practical advice and little tricks of the trade that really make a difference. It's an experience I recommend to anyone who loves good food, to young chefs looking to develop, or simply to anyone looking to spend a few special hours. All the products used were of the highest quality, and at the end, we were able to enjoy the dishes together. A truly 360-degree experience. What's more, he recently received a second fork from Gambero Rosso... Hats off 🤩
