We had dinner at Zi Albina during our visit to Vasto. We wanted to try the famous Brodetto alla Vastese, a restaurant recommended to us by locals.
Mrs. Pina served us and advised us with extreme professionalism and kindness. The stuffed calamari appetizer while we waited for the main course was exquisite, and the brodetto, which takes about 40 minutes to prepare, was simply exceptional.

We had the stuffed mussels, the cod, a sea bream in broth, and the classic Vasto-style brodetto!
Excellent, everything was truly excellent.
A special thanks goes to Pina! I've been working in the food industry for years, and seeing someone who still cares for customers with a sincere smile and a joke is unfortunately rare.
We were fortunate enough to enjoy this rarity.
Two very small things: the smell of gas is a little scary :) and the stuffed mussels seemed a bit small in quantity!
But as I said, we had a wonderful evening, and that's rare these days.

This historic restaurant is located on a side street in Vasto's historic center. You can eat inside on the first floor (narrow steps, no elevator) or outside on the street closed to traffic.
We came to try the famous brodetto, an interesting experience. A portion for two costs €60, including spaghetti. It's served with crispy bread slices, not bruschetta.
Given the expected wait of about 50 minutes, we ordered two appetizers: a cold scapece (ice cream) and cod meatballs with caramelized onions (the breading seemed industrial).
Wine is available only by the bottle (starting at €22) or by the glass.
Overall, it's interesting, but I wouldn't return.

We came to this place to try the famous Brodetto. It didn't disappoint! Fresh fish, plenty of it, tasty sauce. Finally, they added pasta to the sauce. The cacio e ovo (cacio e egg) appetizer was also fantastic, a must-try. The fried fish was also very good.
Excellent service with Pina.
