03/07/2024: An evergreen a few kilometers from Mantua offers traditional dishes with balanced and tasty flavours. Excellent first courses with a mention for tagliatelle with duck sauce. Second courses include rabbit with polenta and veal with tuna sauce. Courteous and fast service. Worth the trip

31/05/2024: A trattoria, true, sincere, pleasant in its being a 'trattoria' as it once was. Very good service with staff well present on the spot. They offer rustic and typical but also refined food, much above average. Obviously, you must like the typical local cuisine, honest prices. I would go back a thousand times

16/08/2024: Last night (mid-August) I went with a friend to have a drink. At 10.15pm we asked for a pizza, and they told us that they were no longer doing anything and that the kitchen was closed, and in the meantime we could see pizzas arriving at the tables I wish you a lot of luck, because you don't have any professionalism.

29/08/2024: I give one star because you can't give 0. Terrible experience. We ate on plastic plates with plastic cutlery and glasses without the table having been set. Then the dishes arrive on earthenware plates... and I think... so why plastic plates???useless waste We took some tuna, according to them fresh , a potato and mussel rice, a tuna sandwich and a spaghetti with clams. Terrible experience. We were sick all night with severe stomach cramps and bouts of diarrhea. If you want to eat well, stay away, it's for your health

02/07/2024: You enter and after a pleasant welcome, from the counter you see and choose your menu from the daily proposals. Stuffed fresh pasta, homemade, all exceptional. Then second courses and side dishes from the amazing Roman artichokes with caramelised Tropea onions. Prices too much, too honest. Absolutely not to be missed.

31/08/2024: Il Caravatti vale una visita a Mantova. Un locale storico che fa apprezzare l’eccellenza italiana. Doveroso degustare il loro storico aperitivo bianco o rosso, ma è anche un locale che si affaccia su piazza delle Erbe che offre molto altro. Squisite le tartine in accompagnamento all’aperitivo (ho apprezzato molto tzatziki e sarda con erba cipollina) . Camerieri giovani, sorridenti, educati, veloci. Gestore gradevolissimo. Sarà che sono genovese e non sono abituata ad un simile servizio…ma torno nella mia città con il Caravatti nel cuore. ♥️

25/04/2024: Quality food, plentiful and at the right price. Friendly and genuine staff. If I come back to those parts I'll stop by, just two small notes, a little more polenta with braised meat and bread instead of the knee.

24/08/2024: My wife and I had dinner at Da Gigi, she had a pizza (the Tyrolean) and I had a radicchio and gorgonzola gnocco. Judgment : - the pizza was very good - the pasta was excellent and the toppings were very good and plentiful; - the gnocchi are very good; - fast and courteous service; - low price. I recommend it

24/08/2024: Con mia moglie abbiamo cenato Da Gigi, lei ha preso una pizza (la tirolese) io uno gnocco radicchio e gorgonzola. Giudizio : - molto buona la pizza - ottima la pasta e condimenti molto buoni ed abbondanti; - molto buoni gli gnocchi; - servizio veloce e cortese; - prezzo contenuto. Lo consiglio.

14/08/2024: A treat!! Everything is perfect - the flavors, the very friendly service, the setting... We spent a very good evening with family discovering specialties from Mantua - the tortelli alla zucca are a delight!!

08/06/2024: Excellent evening in this intimate little restaurant! The pasta, fish & risotto alla pilota were delicious, & our waiter Federico was charming & gave us a great recommendation for one of the local wines. Well priced for such a class act too. We also came away with jars of their superb homemade apple mostarda. I look forward to going back

24/06/2024: The cook who must also be the owner is a great chef. Now finally assisted by good people both in the kitchen and in the dining room!

06/05/2024: Went for a business lunch with two colleagues, terrible service (friendliness made people), the food seemed practically frozen heated in the microwave. At least the prices were honest, I had a carbonara that couldn't be defined as such and really bad roast beef. Never again.

07/05/2024: Literally mouth-watering gastronomy. Exquisite ready meals as if it were Sunday every day. Savory pies, stuffed focaccias, lasagne etc.. it is perfect for the lunch break, but I also recommend it for aperitifs with appetizers or starters. Trained and friendly staff. It is on the corner of a small square used for parking. Excellent coffee shop products and service too. From under the arch of Porta Giulia you can access the pedestrian and cycle path around one of the city's lakes...
