14/03/2026: Horrible… We ordered pizzas for delivery, an hour's wait plus a 20-minute delay, but that's fine for a busy evening. The problem was the quality of the pizzas: they were undercooked and lacking in flavor. The only thing my palate could taste was the raw dough, even though they were hot upon arrival. Definitely the first and last time I'll get pizza from this place ;)

14/12/2025: Traditional Rifugio with fine dining and a fireplace but with a star wine list; mostly French, and elevated cuisine. Always check or call ahead to ensure reservations, but it’s absolutely worth the trip just for the view. One of the few gastronomic gems in Lecco, and unique in character and quality. We always finish with gelato for two, freshly spun after ordered.

06/12/2025: I've been going to the Giumelli family for 20 years, not as often as I'd like, and their kindness and ability to make us feel at home. The food is so good there's a real risk of overdoing the portions. Plus, they're close to some very beautiful places, both on and off the lake. Highly recommended.

26/10/2025: We were able to take advantage of the catering service, and it was a wonderful surprise. Tasty local dishes Polenta with mushrooms, venison sauce, and salami. Pleasant, spacious location, with outdoor tables under the portico. The smile and professionalism. Absolutely fair prices. Indoor parking

01/03/2026: I've been frequenting this delightful restaurant, once run by a very kind gentleman who made his little haven pleasant and welcoming, for over ten years. I'm sorry to report the terrible experience I had yesterday with the current, overbearing owner. I'd booked the day before for two people with a dog and was told to arrive at 12:15 because they had reservations starting at 1:30. I replied that it was no problem because we'd already be out by then. We arrived at 12:13, and there was an extra person with me, my niece, who had arrived last. When I asked if it was possible to add a seat, the "lady" yelled at me, saying it wasn't possible to add a chair to the table she'd reserved for us. Luckily, two kind ladies sitting at the table next to mine told me to use their table because they'd finished their drinks and were leaving. In the same rude tone with which I was greeted, the "lady" yells that we have to leave at 1:15 because the tables are booked for that time. I decide to stay with my fellow travelers despite the terrible welcome, and we sit down to order something to eat and drink. While I wait, feeling very thirsty, I open my backpack and drink tea from my thermos, politely offering some to my companions as well. I finally manage to order a draft beer, and after a quarter of an hour, we manage to order something to eat as well. The beer arrives, a poor quality, with no head and almost no carbon, probably oxidized and poorly stored, which I drink anyway, given my thirst. The food arrives, delicious and piping hot, and we devour it with gusto. We ordered a delicious yogurt dessert and at 1:15 PM we headed to the register to pay the bill: €56 for two plates of polenta (one with sausage and one with venison and Taleggio ragù), one plate of bresaola with mushrooms, one dessert, and one medium draft beer. I asked to split the bill between two and pay by card. I was brusquely told that if I wanted to split the bill, I had to pay in cash, otherwise I'd have to pay by card. Naturally, I preferred to pay by card (at least I could get a receipt, which the lady probably wanted to avoid). At this point, from behind the counter, just to make our brief stay at Barettino del Decio unforgettable, the lady told me that, out of "fairness," I shouldn't have allowed myself to consume any liquids at the table other than those offered on the menu at "her" establishment. I looked at her in astonishment and disbelief. I told her I'd consumed and ordered both food and drinks, and that I didn't think it was improper to drink my tea while waiting for someone to bring me something to drink, something I thought was a given at a mountain refuge, and something I'd done before. She told me I'd taken the liberty of offering my tea to my tablemates, and that they hadn't ordered anything to drink; in fact, one of them had drank water from a bottle she'd brought in her backpack! And last but not least, hers isn't a mountain refuge, but a restaurant, and she makes the rules, so I should have asked her permission to drink tea from my thermos! At this point, I simply replied that I didn't agree and that she could have avoided saying these things to me, and I left, disgusted by this way of managing a place that should welcome everyone with kindness, but which has become a money-making facility. I won't be setting foot in Barettino del Decio again, and I warn anyone reading this review that the food is still good, but don't expect any special atmosphere or welcome while this grumpy woman runs what's left of Barettino del Decio. The menu is classic mountain hut fare, and they also do sandwiches. It's a shame, because I had some wonderful times in this wooden cabin.

21/02/2026: When we go up to Pian delle Betulle - Alpe Paglio, we always go there for lunch! Excellent and very friendly service, they make you feel at ease right away, and above all, the food is exceptional! Highly recommended!!!

23/12/2025: We had two first courses, pizzoccheri and tagliolini. The order was a bit confusing, but overall it was acceptable. The house wine and the atmosphere were homey. It's a great place to be.

27/08/2025: I've had the pleasure of ordering pizza at this pizzeria several times, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. But let's talk about the highlight: the pizza. The dough is nothing short of perfect: light, digestible, and crispy. I tried the Margherita, a timeless classic, and the quality of the ingredients was evident: fresh tomatoes, delicious mozzarella. The sausage pizza was also fantastic and incredibly filling. The service was impeccable, quick but unhurried, and the prices are absolutely fair for the quality offered. In conclusion, if you're looking for authentic and tasty pizza, prepared with passion and served in a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. I'll definitely be back!

16/03/2026: In fairness, we were late getting back into Lecco and didn’t have very many dining options, but looked at the menu and staff encouraged us to give it a try. The menu was interesting. There weren’t many patrons very few people still out and the restaurant only had a couple of tables occupied. Wait staff was very cordial and attentive. I tried a risotto dish that had blueberries in it and my wife tried a spaghetti dish seasoned with squid ink. Not the most impressive presentations; the risotto was very plain but the spaghetti was interesting. The risotto dish was very good, with a mild blueberry flavor. The spaghetti definitely had a more fishy flavor than I was expecting and neither of us really enjoyed it that much. Again, it was late and our options were limited and it was probably very close to closing for them. Again, staff were very cordial and attentive. There were other options we probably would have tried other than Hemmingway’s had they been open, but it was a Monday when several were not open anyway and others had already closed. I probably would opt for other options if in Lecco again in the future.

26/06/2025: A beautiful and charming location, with lots of greenery and a quiet area. We celebrated my son's first communion in May and had a great time. The food was good, cooked to perfection. None of our guests complained. The risotto was truly delicious, we even asked for seconds, and the roast suckling pig was more than worthy. Above all, the service was impeccable, attentive to all our needs: we requested customized menus, gluten-free, lactose-free, and pork-free, and they were satisfied. And at no extra charge! After lunch, we were able to relax in the garden, sitting on the sofas with some kindly offered liqueurs. In short... a successful first communion!! Thank you so much to all the staff!!
