Hemingway Lecco In Lecco

In fairness, we were late getting back into Lecco and didn’t have very many dining options, but looked at the menu and staff encouraged us to give it a try. The menu was interesting. There weren’t many patrons very few people still out and the restaurant only had a couple of tables occupied. Wait staff was very cordial and attentive. I tried a risotto dish that had blueberries in it and my wife tried a spaghetti dish seasoned with squid ink. Not the most impressive presentations; the risotto was very plain but the spaghetti was interesting. The risotto dish was very good, with a mild blueberry flavor. The spaghetti definitely had a more fishy flavor than I was expecting and neither of us really enjoyed it that much. Again, it was late and our options were limited and it was probably very close to closing for them. Again, staff were very cordial and attentive. There were other options we probably would have tried other than Hemmingway’s had they been open, but it was a Monday when several were not open anyway and others had already closed. I probably would opt for other options if in Lecco again in the future.

Popped in for a draft beer, fabulous friendly staff. Quiet, snacks from 6 pm til 7. Kept hunger at bay. Beautiful little place.

We went for the free buffet, but it turns out that it's what they have left over, they place it on a small table and from there you serve it. Cold food. For the price of €15, you get a drink (cocktail and "the buffet") Nos tocó gambas, salmon (nada bueno), frozen albondingas and terrible vegetables. The service was always very good, the boy at the bar and the guy upstairs very friendly. We opted for the all-you-can-eat buffet, but apparently that's simply what's advanced; they put it on a table and we serve ourselves. The food was cold. Quiet and well-kept atmosphere, we had lunch for 2, very good dishes typical of the local cuisine, generous portions.

Aperitif with a variety of sophisticated cocktails, a consistently refreshed buffet, and excellent meatballs, abundant smoked salmon, and much more. The well-maintained and attractive venue on the first floor offers friendly service.

Since I discovered this place, it's become my go-to place for evening drinks. I think it's the only place in Lecco that's truly worth it. The cocktails are truly good and balanced, and don't overwhelm (even the Negroni, and no, they're not watered down!) David, the bartender, is truly knowledgeable and super kind! The atmosphere is very elegant and refined, intimate thanks to the exclusive room upstairs (also accessible by elevator!) The place is very clean and romantic. What can I say? It's my favorite place! I highly recommend it; the prices are balanced with the service, the expertise, and the quality of the place.
