03/08/2025: This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of the ingredients and dishes. The staff is extremely friendly and managed to find us a table even without a reservation. The portions are generous, and a special mention goes to the signature dish: paella, served with fresh, flavorful seafood. Highly recommended.

31/07/2025: I recommend booking to ensure a seat. The portion sizes are definitely the highlight; we ordered a plate of pasta to share, and it was absolutely enough. The sauce was very good, but several of the shellfish were very difficult to clean; the shells were very thin and quite a chore to remove. Otherwise, everything was delicious and not at all heavy.

29/07/2025: Super homemade pasta, large portions, top-notch taste, and perfectly reasonable prices. But you have to make a reservation, and the staff could be more competent and service-oriented. You're not offered any alternatives, and you have to request appointments several times yourself, instead of saying, for example, "Too bad we're full today and tomorrow, should we open the evening after tomorrow..." But that's just a minor issue. Otherwise, it's top-notch.

27/07/2025: We had a fantastic dinner at Ristorante Pizzeria Mediterraneo during our stay in San Remo. The food was the absolute highlight of our visit. Our group ordered several different pizzas, and each one was genuinely recommendable. The dough was perfectly cooked—crisp yet chewy—and they were very generous with the toppings, using high-quality, flavourful ingredients. It felt like authentic Italian pizza at its best. Furthermore, the prices were very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and quantity of food we received. When we arrived, we had hoped to sit outside to enjoy the evening air. Unfortunately, due to how busy the restaurant was, there wasn't an available table for our party of six. However, the staff's response was immediate and accommodating. They quickly arranged a solution for us inside, moving and joining tables to ensure we could all sit together comfortably. The service, for the most part, was very friendly and welcoming. The only slight letdown was the waiter responsible for our drinks. He seemed quite disengaged and bored with his work. This was most evident in his repeated clumsiness when pouring water; he consistently spilled it on the tablecloth, soaking parts of it around our glasses. It was a small but noticeable detail. Despite this minor issue, our overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. The delicious food and the helpfulness of the other staff members made it a memorable meal. We would certainly return for the pizza.

14/08/2025: This place has a magical atmosphere that hasn't changed over the years. Truly one of the most beautiful pubs in Italy, housed in an old mill and run by Italian-English owners. Good selection of Irish draft beers: Guinness, Kilkenny, and even the classic lager, Harp! They also have cider on tap. Excellent cuisine, especially the grilled meat dishes: rump steak (as pictured) is truly excellent, as are the lamb chops and rostelle. The focaccias are also good (I've never tried their pizzas... I've always preferred to play it safe with meat). Some people complain about having to order at the counter, but it's obvious they've never been to an Irish or UK pub, where this type of service is quite common, and in my opinion it further enhances the atmosphere. In any case, the food is then brought to your table by the staff, while everyone must carry their own beers to their seats (with a tray if necessary). My only criticism (hopefully constructive), which didn't affect my rating, is that on my last visit, I saw a friendly young waitress pouring Guinness all at once, without letting it settle before refilling. Knowing that the owners know how to pour excellent Guinness (with the appropriate amount of time), I'd expect them to train their staff so they can consistently serve top-notch stouts, in true Irish style.

22/07/2025: I was at Locanda Marinai a few nights ago and I was amazed. It is one of those places that stays in your heart. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Alessandra, the dining room manager, super kind, smiling and always present. She gave us passionate advice, as if we were guests in her home. I started with mussels alla marinara.. delicious! Then I moved on to spaghetti with clams and then finished with a panna cotta that left me speechless. But beyond the food, what makes this place special is the atmosphere, Bordighera Alta in the evening is a dream.

28/07/2025: We were looking for a place to eat and we read their menu. We sat down and were greeted by very kind and helpful staff. We read other things about their menu, all very inviting, including the salads, which had different ingredients than many others, from tuna tartare to walnuts, to pears, with very unusual but pleasant combinations. The food was very good, the pasta (pici) with clams and bottarga (which gives it that extra flavor and kick, very good), then the fried dishes, snails, dessert, coffee, and amaro, all excellent. The crema catalana and strudel were very good and tasty. A welcoming and well-kept place with small details that make the difference. Well done, congratulations on everything.

04/08/2025: We discovered this restaurant almost by chance and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pizzas: thin crust, perfectly cooked, generous toppings—a real treat! All at an excellent value for money, which is increasingly rare. The service was fast and efficient, despite a busy dining room. The staff is professional, without being intrusive, which makes for a great time. The only downside: the background music was way too loud. A softer ambiance, with traditional Italian or jazzy music, would have been more than enough to create a more pleasant atmosphere. In summary: an excellent place to eat a good pizza at a reasonable price. We'll happily return—perhaps with earplugs if the playlist stays the same 😉

06/07/2025: Good morning, I do not agree with some reviews read even very negative, the pizza Excellent as the service and the friendliness ... it is true that the place is located below street level but it is welcoming and very pleasant even if a little narrow ... I do not agree with those who wrote that there is no air circulation, the place is air conditioned and we were fine. Last note: after 8.00 pm last night there was a queue in the street to get in 😏 ... I recommend !!!

29/06/2025: Burnt focaccia..and that's already bad!!!! It's useless to give the 3 euro discount, it's terrible, in fact the little bit of not burnt that I ate was not well leavened dough! I make pizzas..and believe me that 24 hours of leavening make the difference!

19/07/2025: Very nice restaurant. Excellent service and good advice. The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten intolerance and was able to recommend gluten-free dishes. The menu features many regional specialties, such as snails and rabbit. The mashed potatoes were superbly seasoned (with pesto?), and I'll order it again next time. The beef was very tender and delicious.
