08/10/2025: The chef is a loud but warm-hearted man who conjures up delicious dishes. His specialty is freshly prepared fish. The service is very friendly and attentive to even the smallest details. The ambiance is simple but authentic. We'd happily return!

08/10/2025: We had a great meal here. The spaghetti with seafood was a delight. Overall, it was quaint, cozy, authentic, and delicious. We felt at home and left happy and full.

14/07/2025: Well-equipped bungalow, pool in excellent condition, and almost never crowded. Lack of keys for single rooms. Remarkably far from the city center and no transportation or shuttle to/from the bungalows. Friendly and calm staff.

06/10/2025: We went to the Bistro del Bastione in La Spezia as a group (four adults and four children) and were unfortunately very disappointed. We only ordered pizza and spaghetti and had to wait over an hour for the food. When we asked, we were always told simply that it was "currently being prepared," but without any further information. There was no apology for the long wait. In addition, the dishes were served at staggered times, so some were almost ready while others had nothing on their tables. The service overall also left a lot to be desired: No one asked if the food was tasty or if we wanted anything else (e.g., drinks). We consistently felt like no one was really paying attention to us. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us either. The spaghetti carbonara was cooked much too hot, which made it taste more like scrambled eggs with pasta than a creamy carbonara. Overall, it lacked flavor and quality. We therefore unfortunately cannot recommend the bistro – neither for families with children nor for guests who are short on time. For us, it was a very time-consuming and, unfortunately, disappointing experience.

23/09/2025: There’s not much difference to the other restaurants here. But… The housewine is so much better than at other locations. The service is super friendly, even when it’s full. I only had a slice of pizza, which was delicious but I can’t say more about the food.

02/09/2025: We visited this restaurant in August at the recommendation of a friend, a regular. The experience was extremely disappointing. The food was poor; when we asked about the type of fish available, the owner replied that we should have made a reservation or communicated our desire to eat fish (perhaps forgetting we were at the seaside). The only positive note: the chef was very friendly, unlike the owner, who I suggest undergoing "sympathy therapy."

17/08/2025: Very disappointing, odious service, and the old woman serving us allowed herself to talk over us, thinking we didn't understand just because we dared to ask for tomato pasta for our daughter! Afterward, their credit card didn't work when it came time to pay, and we were asked why we left without cash... The food was also nothing exceptional, and the quantities were very small compared to the price. There are much better options nearby, I can assure you. In short, a bad experience; I really don't recommend it!

26/07/2025: Ristorante pizzeria in una via un po fuori dal centro di monterosso con un menù a base di pesce e qualche altro piatto ed è pure pizzeria. Ho mangiato una insalata di polipo eccezionale gustosa e abbondante accompagnata da una vellutata di patate buonissima. Poi trofie con pesto e patate veramente buone. Peccato per le cozze ripiene da cui mi aspettavo di più in quanto si sentiva solo il ripieno molto abbondante e le cozze così sono sparite. Peccato perché avrei dato volentieri il punteggio più alto Servizio puntuale e cordiale. Prezzi nella media per queste località

17/10/2025: Ok people. I’m pretty sure this is my first ever Google review. My family and I were only staying in Cinque Terre for two days, and trust me we had a lot of restaurants to choose from. We chose this restaurant because of the atmosphere, proximity to the water, and their expansive menu that included some non fish options for the weirdos in my family who won’t eat fish even though we are in a coastal town. The service was beyond amazing. I was able to try to practice my Italian with the waiter being very patient, accommodating, and helpful. We ordered wine once and our glasses were never empty. He could tell I wasn’t the happiest with my soup (I could have sworn I ordered clam soup and not vegetable soup, vongole vs verdura so decently similar) so he took it even though I said not to worry about it, told me to wait a minute, and brought me out a full plate of spaghetti with clams. It was amazing and he showed me the best way to eat it (no cheese, with a spoon to spin the spaghetti). He continued joking with us and taking care of us the rest of the night. We were also surprised by the bill being as low of a price as it was - the soup was not on the bill. The most magical part though, I asked if they were selling the sweatshirts the staff was all wearing because I loved the logo, and while they weren’t, this man gave me the sweatshirt OFF OF HIS BACK to have. We tried to pay for it, insisted he keep it, and he refused. This was the best Italian hospitality I ever experienced. It felt like home, very familiar to me because of how was raised in an Italian American family, and I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits.

08/09/2025: I don’t understand the negative reviews about this place. Four of us have been coming here twice a day for the last four days and have never had bad service. The coffee is fabulous. Raymonda and her mother are just lovely and so pleasant and friendly. The Foccacia is great and Raymonda also makes fabulous Apperol spritz too! She brought us lovely little snacks to have with Aperrols - so thoughtful. We Highly recommend this place and the location is perfect.

27/05/2025: Rip-off – Two coffees for €7.50. When paying, the (albeit polite) waitress asked the owner how much it would cost – and he told her €7.50. The receipt is opaque and only shows "€7.50" with no detailed prices. I wonder how arbitrary the prices of other drinks or dishes are. A real shame, because the atmosphere is actually pleasant – but we recommend avoiding this place.

25/10/2025: 9 euros for two croissants and two lattes because he brought them to the dirty table outside. SHAMEFUL.

24/08/2025: Friendly, family-friendly atmosphere. Kind and attentive staff. Helpful managers. Comfortable rooms. Fresh, varied cuisine. Excellent location. It's true, as I've read in other reviews, that the hotel is spartan, but I really appreciate the fact that the managers eat in the same room, with the guests, and, above all, the same food. For me, this is a sign of authenticity and simplicity. So: a comfortable, delicious vacation with a priceless sea view!!!

17/03/2025: Hands down the best focaccia in Sestri! Very good! Plus, it's well stocked with pizzas, various sizes and toppings, focaccias, savory pies, sandwiches and more! Everything is so good! Ah, for those who complain about the prices: they are displayed very clearly, if you think it's expensive you don't buy, period, and not that you complain....

24/10/2025: What a great place! It was our 44th wedding anniversary and we will never forget this place. We were welcomed like friends. The interior is magnificent, warm, very Italian. The aquariums are super nice. Our chihuahua loved watching the fish. We enjoyed our delicious dishes. Very fresh and tasty fish and seafood. The prosecco by the pitcher was excellent. A truly beautiful place. The waitress is also very pleasant and delightful. The owner is friendly and attentive. In short, the best. We recommend booking, perfect restaurants are rare and therefore very sought after. Thank you for this delicious moment in your adorable restaurant, we will return as soon as possible. Les Ciotadens

19/10/2025: The girls' pasta was very good. The lasagna didn't have meat, just pasta. The tartar... nothing special. Very expensive value for money.
