24/12/2024: Dinner with friends, 3 seats. We order 2 mixed appetizers (the usual cold cuts and cheeses), we get 1 platter with mortadella, ham and salami, two slices of cheese with a few pieces of omelette, parmigiana and cheese and pepper meatballs. We paid €38 for it, which seemed rather excessive to us. For the second course we order a Chianina, they come to show us the raw steak informing us of the weight (1100g), a correct gesture, a pity that we receive around 400g of already cut meat from which we get around 2 pieces each and for €90 this also seemed to us a little expensive. We ask for a portion of baked potatoes, a plate of baked potatoes arrives, they charge us for 2. We ask for the house wine, and they bring us a bottle of red for €15. We booked with TheFork with the 20% discount and it was not applied to us. Overall we ate well, the wait was quite long but it didn't bother us in this context. The room was well heated and welcoming. Too bad we spent more than we should have and filled ourselves with bread.

12/11/2024: A trip out of town on Sunday and I put Osteria La Portella directly as a destination on Google maps because I was very intrigued by the proposals on the menu and the location. We found ourselves in the historic center of Sonnino, a fantastic mountain village in Lazio, surrounded by endless olive groves and without reservation Mr. welcomed us in the Osteria. Ignazio and his daughter to have lunch. It's been a long time since we felt such warmth and kindness, the exquisite food and the search for strictly local raw materials and portions. The own-produced extra virgin olive oil was present on every course. Thanks Ignazio we will come back to visit you to eat again with your family. Philip

15/08/2024: La cena è stata molto buona. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale. C’era un panino in particolare, il “ruspante” che era davvero ottimo e consiglio di provare. Gli altri, molto semplici ma buoni. Non ho messo 5 stelle perché il posto all’interno è molto piccolo e invivibile in estate. Ma ha un’ottima alternativa, ovvero dei tavolini alti all’esterno con degli sgabelli.

01/12/2024: Vivo all'estero e quando torno in Italia non posso non venire in questo ristorante, i camini rendono tutto ancora più accogliente. Ieri sera ho mangiato come antipasto pancetta di Bassiano alla brace, patanegra e dei formaggi, come primo una bella porzioni di ravioli e mio marito una tagliata con contorno di cicoria. Per chiudere biscotti e le castagne che tanto volevo! Era tutto buonissimo come sempre ed il personale gentile, professionale ed attentom. Ovviamente lo straconsiglio.
