12/04/2026: I've been going to the Ariston for several years, first as a pizzeria, now as a restaurant, and it's always a fantastic experience. The quality of the food is top-notch, beautifully presented, and the service is excellent and fast. The owner, Fabrizio, and his wife are always very kind and smiling, and it's a real pleasure to eat there. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with tasteful mountain-style furnishings. My favorite dish is the sea bass fillet in a crispy bread crust: it's delicate, yet flavorful and delicious, highly recommended! Excellent food, and the wait for your order was just right, even though the restaurant was busy. The option to book via computer or smartphone on the dedicated website is convenient. 21/12/2025: We went to this restaurant yesterday for dinner, which was recommended to us. The staff were very friendly and helpful as soon as we walked in. They immediately asked us if we had any food intolerances (which isn't a given, quite the opposite, in fact). We had delicious pucce with octopus carpaccio, made with excellent ingredients. The ability to accommodate those with dietary restrictions is a plus. Definitely worth a try!

16/05/2026: We visited this place remembering the takeout we'd ordered one evening while staying nearby. And the dishes confirmed our memories: very good and flavorful. The place is welcoming, with cloth tablecloths and napkins with paper-cloth covers. Decent wine by the glass. The prices are all right, except perhaps for the water. The staff is courteous but a little "strained." There's nothing to complain about in terms of professionalism, politeness, or helpfulness, of course, but compared to the hearty laughs among the regulars, the difference with the out-of-towners was noticeable. I think I'll gladly return anyway.

05/05/2026: Everything was very good!! Quiet place and good food!!!

03/03/2026: We were at the campervan rest area and, after a nice snowshoe hike, we decided to go to a restaurant for lunch. On the maps, we saw the "Baita Piste Nera" (Black Piste Chalet) and decided to go there. The atmosphere was truly mountain hut-like, the waitresses were lovely and friendly, and above all, the food was delicious! All of this, in our opinion, was reasonably priced. Recommended. Four stars because to get there, you have to walk a short distance down the piste (hence the name) or climb a short icy slope.

03/05/2026: What can I say...Always number 1! You can't go wrong...the menu never changes but you always come back! Quality and...quantity! A point of reference for the Zoldo Valley for over 50 years! Highly recommended!

29/04/2026: I'm sorry, I booked in advance thinking of eating in a rustic mountain setting, instead under a tent with workers I ate the same menu and paid 35 euros with a menu decided by them, I asked to eat something different and I was told 'you haven't eaten, that's enough', both the owner and the waitress were very rude, not recommended

25/04/2026: What can I say!? It was a real discovery, coming from the Aosta Valley and finding this restaurant was a stroke of luck. We ate wonderfully, and the fillet steak with morels (which I thought were only available in our area, but fortunately not) and the homemade puree were divine. The surprise was finding a sample of cheese with honey, not packaged, but rather freshly harvested from the beekeeper with wax (it couldn't be fresher, it brought back memories of my childhood when my dad made honey). Thank you for everything, and also for the professionalism and kindness of the waitresses. We'll definitely be back.

08/04/2026: The Bar Alla Bregaglia has finally reopened, in one of the most beautiful places in the Belluno Valley. Lunch outside with a lake view is priceless. The young and friendly owners offer traditional local dishes, including sandwiches and burgers. The fried trout was sublime. Well done, we'll definitely see you again.

11/05/2026: If you’re looking for a taste of the Venetian Empire served with a side of Alpine altitude, Locanda Ai Dogi is the place to be. The interior practically hugs you with that dark, wooden "Walliserstube" energy, making you feel like a weary traveler who just successfully dodged a mountain goat. It’s the kind of atmosphere where you expect a medieval ruler to walk in, but instead, you’re greeted by a winged lion mascot that looks like it’s ready to fly your dinner directly to your table. Just be prepared for a potential "lost in translation" moment with the bar staff; asking for a dark, malty brew might result in a golden "Hell" lager showing up, which is basically the beer equivalent of ordering a leather jacket and being handed a silk scarf. The most baffling part of the evening isn't the beer mix-up, but the fact that this place is absolutely slammed on a Monday night in mid-May. We are deep in the "interlude" season, that awkward meteorological limbo where it’s too late to ski and too early to hike without hitting a snowbank, yet apparently, the entire population of the Dolomites got the same memo to congregate here. You’d think a Monday in May would be a ghost town, but the local vibe is more "end of the world" party. It’s as if the townspeople decided that if the Birra Dolomiti Rossa isn't coming out, they might as well pack the house to keep the disappointment company. ​The star of the show is the Pork Tomahawk, a bone-in monolith draped in prosciutto and drizzled with a creamy cheese sauce that brings a sophisticated, air-cured funk to the party. It is exactly the kind of caloric payload you need when you have a date with Tre Cime tomorrow: a brutal 20 km trek with over 1,200 m of elevation gain that will make your hamstrings scream in languages you haven't learned yet. As I’m hauling myself up those jagged limestone slopes tomorrow, gasping for air and questioning my life choices, I will be blissfully hallucinating about this mountain of salty, fatty breaded pork and the speck-infused tegolini. I might be suffering on the trail, but I’ll be doing it with a stomach full of Doge-level indulgence and a heart full of gratitude for a Monday night feast that was worth every grueling vertical meter to come.

08/05/2026: Excellent inn. We had dinner on a Friday evening in May. Bread gnocchi, just like the ones I remembered as a child. And then a reinterpretation of carbonara "alla cadorina" that I must say was truly excellent. Fresh pasta and egg and parmesan cream flavored with porcini mushrooms. Speck replaced the guanciale. So much! Carbonara is one of the typical dishes offered in various versions. For dessert, a trilogy of spoon desserts. Recommended!

02/04/2026: Here in Alleghe, there are few places to eat lunch and dinner, which is understandable since it's a small town. I highly recommend this place; among the few options, the food was excellent and very traditional. I had a delicious lasagna with spinach and radicchio, and I tried for the first time something very typical called canederli (it's bread with spinach, cheese, etc.). They're exquisite and perfect with sauces. In short, I liked this place and I recommend it.

29/03/2026: Truly wonderful place, it is a very old house from the times of the First World War, kept very well by Matteo. Chef very good at creating an exquisite and always different menu, with products grown and raised by him. A farm really worth trying. It's the second time I've gone there and I've already booked for the third, also because you have to book if you want to eat otherwise you won't find free tables, it has around twenty seats. Excellent value for money, definitely worth a try.
