22/10/2025: I visited this restaurant in early October and had a great time. I had a good lunch, choosing a filling and delicious stuffed pasta dish, a delicious stuffed calamari for a main course, and a delicious pistachio dessert. The service was good and just the right amount of speed. The atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, everything was fine; a restaurant worth returning to.

26/09/2025: We chose to celebrate my wife's birthday at this restaurant based on the positive reviews and photos of the dishes, and we weren't disappointed. We ordered four spectacular tartare mixes and two exceptional hot seafood appetizers. We continued with sea urchin bavette (mouth-watering), delicious seafood spaghetti, and a sensational lobster tagliolini. The desserts were worthy of the rest of the dinner, the service was attentive but never pushy, and the price was more than fair. If you want to eat good fresh fish and spend a fair amount, this is the place for you.

20/09/2025: I wish we'd read the reviews beforehand. This was by far the worst restaurant experience of our lives. We had the penne with mushrooms and the spaghetti carbonara. Both dishes arrived so incredibly quickly that we were skeptical. What can I say?! The carbonara was bland pasta with oil and scrambled eggs. And my penne with mushrooms, which wasn't even described further on the menu, came in an oil-based tomato sauce. All in all, my meal reminded me a lot of kindergarten food. The mushrooms were wobbly and unappealing, and the entire dish was unseasoned. We wish we'd taken pictures, because no one would believe us. At least the water, the Coke, and the house red wine were very cold. 🥶🥹😉

20/08/2025: WELCOME to ELBA 😊 What I like about Elba is the fact that it doesn't want to resemble something else and wants to remain just... Elba. This thing, in a world increasingly flattened by globalization, is increasingly important to me every year, which is why, when we get off the ferry with the motorbike, the first stop is here, for the first island snack, a moment that gives us the feeling of having arrived "home", in a land that is still human and real 😁 Here we always tasted the special of the day and whether it was a hot soup or a lasagna or a special schiacciata, we were always satisfied with the quality and tradition in the preparations, even the simplest ones. And after a chat with the owners over a good coffee and an apple and cinnamon dessert... here we are ready to leave for our new Elba holiday 😁 Alessandra and Francesca, stay like this forever and, if you can, I beg you, open on Sunday mornings too 😁🙏

12/10/2025: This is our third time here. Always a few years apart. What's our impression? The complex is still very well-maintained. The pool is a nice size, and spending time there is truly relaxing. This time we had a different apartment, which was also very nice. The gas stove isn't easy to use. The light in the bathroom could be a bit brighter (thanks for the new bright light above the kitchen counter). Overall, though, it was very comfortable. The restaurant is very good and highly recommended. Thank you very much!

We are drawn to this region for vacation, and we appreciate the "Gualdo del Re" because it offers a beautiful oasis nestled in a highly award-winning wine-growing region. Here, you can experience wonderful moments far from the tourist crowds. Birdsong and clean air paired with delicious dishes and local wines make your stay something truly special. The "Gualdo del Re" restaurant is located in an annex to the winery and offers a sensual immersion in the traditional flavors of the Tuscan Maremma, accompanied exclusively by wines from the estate. In the immediate vicinity, you can reach other important wine producers, such as "Terradonnà," "Tua Rita Societa 'Agricola Semplice," and, a few hundred meters further, "Azienda Agricola Russo" and "Bulichella Winery." Back to "Gualdo del Re" and its cuisine. A destination without parking worries – truly pleasant. The dining room is covered with a beautiful wooden structure. The glass-framed side walls can be opened, allowing for a pleasant feeling of open air in warm temperatures. There are also additional tables outside under the stars. Let's get this straight: It's a shame there are no drinks here. The restaurant is conceptually designed around the house wines. As Campari Spritz lovers, we are encouraged to order the house white wine. There is neither Prosecco nor Campari here. A typical dinner for us starts with a glass of the house white wine, "Vermentino," followed by a typical Tuscan dish from the kitchen, such as a barley mix – delicious, light, warm, and healthy – or "Panzanella croquante," among other things. The waiter, Lorenzo, often presents a slate board with daily specials and translates into German, which is very helpful for us. Depending on the menu, a starter and a main course follow from a wide selection of sensual Tuscan dishes that immerse you in the flavor and depth of authentic Tuscan cuisine. For us, we usually choose Cabraia, a red wine made largely from Cabernet Franc grapes, as our ideal wine accompaniment. There's usually some room for a small dessert. Overall, we feel very comfortable at the "Gualdo del Re." For my wife, who doesn't like shellfish, the selection is sometimes limited. But fish and pasta with some kind of ragù are usually available. This is much easier for me because I'm familiar with a wider range of culinary delights. Just take a look at the photos and form your own opinion. For us, this location has something of a paradise. As nature lovers, a visit to the "Gualdo del Re" is always something special, and stopping here is a must.

30/07/2025: De plek, het uitzicht en het eten is geweldig! Het personeel is erg beleeft. Ik was jarig die dag en kreeg onverwachts een toetje met een verjaardagslied, zonder dat we daarom hadden gevraagd! Zo lief!! Ik raad u de tent echt aan, het is genieten daar! De pizza's waren ook overheerlijk en er was super veel keuze

28/07/2025: Ieder jaar bezoeken we deze gezellige pizzeria. Een heus familiebedrijf waar men met hart en ziel heerlijke pizza’s maakt. Het is een kleine zaak en je kunt hier niet reserveren. Maar wie geduld heeft en gewoon geniet van de gezellige sfeer en muziek zal beloond worden met heerlijke pizza’s en cocktails. Mijn lievelings is de pizza met friarielli en salsiccia. En om het feest af te maken als dessert een heerlijke baba al rum. Geregeld is er live muziek. Mistral is de parel op Cavo.
