21/04/2025: Inspired by the reviews we decided to stop for lunch on the way home. Cold welcome right from the phone call with which we booked the table. The place appears well-kept, although in need of renovation, it is clear that an attempt has been made to elevate the classic old state restaurant from anonymity. Menu with traditional local dishes that could entice, pity the little time to decide, because the owner, as if she had the place full (12.30 pm and only 3 tables occupied), in a rude and hasty manner stood impatient and clearly unnerved by our indecision, in front of our table. House wine of questionable quality and, for being in Bolgheri I would say that it is quite embarrassing. Food not up to the prices, first courses from €13/€14 and second courses from €16 upwards. My son's cut remained half on the plate because it was impossible to chew. In short, one of the rare bad experiences in Tuscany, where trattorias usually reserve pleasant surprises. A piece of advice: a smile, an extra kind word with customers helps to make people feel good and to turn a blind eye to deficiencies that could occur in the kitchen. 😉

17/04/2025: Delicious Nutella crepe!! We were killing time before our train to Rome and stumbled onto this ice cream shop. They make fresh crepes and boy was it delicious! And we saw a photo from Humber College. The owner's husband is a teacher of Gelato at the college!! So cool!

Friendly and welcoming staff. The environment is familiar and you can also shop for food, including fruit and vegetables.
