07/03/2026: Beautiful location..we recommend

24/01/2026: The place looks promising from the outside, and I admit it has great potential. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered, the rooms were filled with kitchen odors. A classic problem when there's insufficient ventilation. The cleanliness is excellent, the bathrooms were clean and equipped with changing tables. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly, helpful, and fast. We ordered pizzas; they were good, but not excellent. I'd say the price was excellent. A plate of fries, two pizzas, a beer, and a bottle of water were €18 each. I'm giving it 3 stars only because of the odors in the room, but I think it's a temporary issue and I hope it's resolved soon. I'd recommend the place; we'll be back.

22/03/2026: Year 2026, good pizzas, slow service. With a full restaurant and home delivery, they made us wait an hour for a table of ten. If you're not in a hurry...long wait.

12/02/2026: I've known La Scogliera for about 15 years, and the food and service have always been exceptional. Last week, a friend and I went for lunch. We waited an hour and a half for a plate of burst mussels and a plate of penne with scampi. The pasta was RAW, tasted like boiled pasta with no flavor whatsoever, and the two scampi on top were also raw. We went to pay, and the bill read: "Pasta with scampi minus pistachio cream." Not only was the pasta awful, but they also took away an ingredient and charged us €50.00. I'm done.

08/02/2026: This isn't my first time here. The two stars are for the food, which is generally acceptable, but the service is truly awful and shocking. You sit down and aren't even asked if you'd like water, they don't have a order list, and you have to constantly call the waiters because they never look around the room and you simply become a ghost. Your appetizer arrives without bread, and another 10 minutes pass before anyone notices you're calling them. And no one even comes around to check on everyone else. That said, I don't think I'll return.

21/09/2025: Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. We sat down with good intentions based on the reviews, but unfortunately, the kitchen had some problems that they couldn't fix. So, after an hour of waiting, for which the restaurant is obviously not responsible, we had to ask for bread that hadn't been brought, and the table light was dim. Subsequently, they informed us of the kitchen problem and completely cancelled the dish. We waited even longer... only to be served two flavorless entrees. Our biggest disappointment was that, having a small child, it was difficult to make him wait so long, and in the end, he practically ate bread! The glass of wine we had ordered was added to my receipt, but it was never brought to us. They finally asked if they could offer us a liqueur, but after almost two hours, we declined because we were exhausted from our stay. The staff was numerous, but they were wandering around without anything. Overall, a bad experience.

Our recent visit was unfortunately characterized by poor service, stale food, and ingredients that were clearly past their prime. From the moment we sat down, the experience felt intrusive. The service team was uncomfortably pushy, repeatedly attempting to upsell and pressure us into ordering items we didn't want or ask for. This persistent, aggressive sales tactic made us feel rushed and unwelcome throughout the entire meal. The quality of the food was the most significant issue. When the fresh fish selection was presented, it was visually obvious that the fish was old and not fresh. It lacked the vibrant look you expect from a reputable seafood restaurant, making us immediately hesitant to order. Furthermore, the bread served to our table was noticeably stale—likely from the day before—which is unacceptable for any establishment. Overall, the combination of aggressive service and a clear lack of fresh, quality ingredients made this a very disappointing and wasted evening.

07/02/2026: I like to think the Coke I drank has some health benefits because you have to be really bold to pay €5 a bottle. It's not like we were in a fancy restaurant. The dishes were just okay, not inedible, but definitely not quality. The potatoes taste like the rotisserie downstairs and the cutlet doesn't taste like a cutlet. Very fast service, I ordered and after 5 minutes everything arrived. Either the food is pre-cooked or the chef is very fast, maybe that's why the prices of the dishes are so high. Nice provocation. We definitely won't be back. €10 for penne with tomato sauce, never seen that price anywhere else. €8 for a side of vegetables. This is mocking the customer. I don't understand the good reviews, either people feed themselves on mediocrity or people like to be fooled. Avoid.

02/10/2025: This seafood restaurant in the center of Portopalo is located in a pedestrian area where vehicles are prohibited. The location is a bit spartan, but the ingredients are top-quality, with well-prepared, flavorful seafood dishes and attentive, friendly service. It's a shame there's no traditional Sicilian dessert menu, but I'd definitely recommend it for family or couples dinners.
