28/05/2025: Pasta with squid ink superlative. The rest doable but nothing earth-shattering. Starters and first courses at a doable price (35 €). Lunches are decent without breaking the bank. Don't expect haute cuisine especially on the starters (raw food almost non-existent)

This is the last dinner before returning to London after two weeks of travel, and it was the most authentic and traditional, the real Sicilian :) What a wonderful way to end our trip. 15/05/2025: Palazzo Biscari is the most interesting patrician residence in Catania still inhabited by heirs and by consulting the owners it can be visited. Most of the collections have been lost, in the visitable rooms you can admire paintings portraits of members of the princely family, furniture and furnishings from the 18th century. The music room is famous, a masterpiece of Sicilian Rococo, interesting decorations and stuccos. Negative note: the markets inside the palace. Very ironic guide.

12/05/2025: It is undoubtedly worth a visit but with a guide who "tells" the story of the family. Then if you are lucky like me the guide could be the host...TOP

11/05/2025: We went to lunch today at this restaurant, terrible experience... we sit down at 1:30 pm after a modest wait we order 3 appetizers and 3 first courses they arrive after half an hour I would say normal good but nothing exceptional after about an hour we ask about the first courses they tell us they are in progress another 3 quarters of an hour pass and the first course arrives after a while the second but dulci simfundo the third never arrived in fact twice the wrong dishes arrived at that point we got up (it was already 4:00 pm) we went to pay without apologies and without a price reduction for the shameful inconvenience.... Highly recommended...

25/04/2025: Quality food, but they raised the price (already high) of a vegetable soup from 18 to 25 euros with the excuse that it was "first fruits". I was exhausted by the trip and I accepted... I'm sorry to see that tourists often have to pay higher prices. I will never go back there again.

14/05/2025: Excellent experience to be repeated absolutely. I came across the Trattoria Saltimbocca recommended by friends. The first thing that struck me was the attention of the waiters and the owner (unfortunately not common in Catania); the fish was all very fresh and cooked to perfection and Mr. Giancarlo was always present in the room, attentive to each table and happy to give you directions on the menu. The last pleasant surprise was the bill, definitely lower than the average for the city. I recommend everyone to try it and I intend to return as soon as possible

11/05/2025: the dishes were very good, the environment was also, very important flaw we waited an hour for our order (there wasn't much confusion) I was really sorry.

09/05/2025: Wat een met zorg bereide gerechten. Mijn man nam naast een pasta ook de borsjt. Die was heerlijk, goed gevuld met groenten en vlees. Mijn dochter en ik deelden een paigiana en hadden daarna ook een heerlijke pasta. De porties zijn groot. Mijn lasagne was echt heerlijk.

28/05/2025: Bar poco curato, molto sporco a terra,tavolini in disordine (da sprechiare completamente sporchi ,personale assente e indifferente,tra l'altro non c'era nessuno .Caffè orrendo per non parlare dei cornetti. Che facevano pena . Tra l'altro il titolare presente in cassa ma assente del tutto. Ps non metterò mai più piede. Mi spiace

25/05/2025: Excellent pastry shop (especially for me the panzerotti and granita with brioche) and hot food (especially the pizza by the slice the best I've ever eaten in Catania) well stocked, I didn't give 4 stars because towards late afternoon there is very little hot food. Well attended and well clean with efficient staff.
