14/09/2025: We stayed here at the end of April 2025. Despite arriving very late, the owner seated us without any hassle. We ate exquisite meat, samphire, and surprising, sophisticated desserts. As if that weren't enough, we were amazed not only by the quality of the food but also by the extremely reasonable price. An unexpected and fantastic discovery. We've now returned to Gargano on vacation, and our first thought upon arrival was: on Wednesday, we'll be back in Vico del Garda at the Giulio Cesare grill!

07/09/2025: This year, we were disappointed compared to the past. The meat is always excellent, but the wait is incredibly long, difficult to manage when you have children. The platter of cured meats and cheeses was truly meager, therefore very expensive in terms of quantity/price. When the platter with the meat we chose finally arrived (for 7 people), the accompanying side dish, which was included, consisted of only two sliced ​​potatoes (not even two potato slices per person). The price was too high for what we ate.

03/11/2025: A superb, well-maintained beach. There are many beach clubs where you can rent loungers and umbrellas (€30 per day), but there's also plenty of free beach. There's also a large free parking lot directly behind the beach.

17/09/2025: Very fair price for first row (2 sunbed and umbrella) - 24 euro. Food - quality corresponds with the quantity and I am happy for what I got. Staff - nice and helpful. What else to wish for?

16/03/2026: Brought to us by a friend of ours from Andria, it was a delightful discovery. I hadn't eaten like this in ages. The authentic flavors, with their locally sourced products, and the owner's explanations, make everything taste like home. The parmigiana is spectacular, as is the octopus tart, the mushrooms, the white parmigiana, and what can I say about the orecchiette with turnip greens and the fantastic desserts they make. We'll definitely be back. I didn't take many photos because I was so enthralled by the flavors, but I assure you, the dishes are beautifully presented. 09/03/2026: The pizza was very good. They served us a chilled glass of red wine, but when we asked for it at room temperature, they didn't bat an eyelid and replaced it, which is a great compliment. The price is fair, and given the service, the ambiance, the friendliness, and the quality, I definitely recommend it. Full marks. P.S. There are little things that make this place great.

23/02/2026: Our boat ride to the Grotto was canceled due to rough seas, so we went on a drive and stopped off at a great experience last summer. Friendly and helpful service. We ate things that we wouldn't normally eat raw, but the seafood was fresh and much less saltier than what we are used to back home. I now know why Italian white wines don't pair as well with these items back home. Cleaner taste and less salt. Thanks for opening my eyes.

01/02/2026: I used to be a regular customer (at least once a week) at this fish shop, despite the slightly higher-than-average prices, because I've always found the quality to be above average. This time, however, the one-star rating is due to an incident that really pissed me off. Last week, I went there to buy everything I needed to make seafood risotto. I never buy mixed seafood because I like to mix and match the ingredients to my liking. I also buy unopened mussels because I like to open them myself to use their water. This time, however, it was late and I didn't have time to open them, so I opted for the so-called clean-shell mussels. I should preface this by saying that I hate Spanish mussels because they have a smell and taste that I don't like, even though they're larger than the others. That said, I asked an employee working the mussel counter (to be fair, not the foreigner, who has always been kind and professional) if the clean-shelled mussels were Spanish, because they're often the ones used for clean-shelled mussels. He was a middle-aged man I often see cleaning fish, and that day he was working alongside the foreigner. He replied that they were of Adriatic origin, and despite my asking for further reassurance, he assured me. So I decided to buy them and go home to make the risotto. Needless to say, as soon as I dropped the mussels into the risotto, a terrible odor was released, rendering it inedible and forcing me to throw it away, resulting in considerable financial loss (clams, white walnuts, cockles, tagliatelle, prawns, and scampi). Not to mention the fact that my Sunday lunch was ruined. Unfortunately, this episode has made me so angry that I just can't get over it. So much so that I've decided never to return to this fish shop again. I feel sorry for them, but I'll spend my money elsewhere.

05/03/2026: This seafood restaurant is truly well-run, with professional service, courtesy, smiles, and kindness. The dishes are well-balanced, and the catch of the day is exceptional. I recommend booking ahead of time during the summer to enjoy lunch or dinner on the outdoor terrace: it's like eating on a boat, as you're just a few meters from the sea. 24/02/2026: Here we are, sharing my experience. Naturally, as I always say, sometimes it depends on what you choose. The atmosphere is a place with a beautiful sea view, 90s-style decor, but overall clean. Service. So, we trusted the waiter, asking for mixed appetizers without exaggerating, and then we asked for a first course. Naturally, I'll leave you to comment, attaching the photos. So, we sat down and the waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked for water, but after turning to the second waiter, the water arrived. Let's say the flaw was that, in my opinion, when a waiter follows you, he should do so the entire way. We changed three waiters. The first one who accompanied us to the table asked us what we wanted to drink and then disappeared. We trusted the most experienced one, probably given his familiarity and his ability to advise us. It's a shame that everything went quite well except for the first course we ordered, the shellfish risotto. Two dishes, one barely touched, and the other I ate, but less than half. When the waiter—not the one who advised us—saw the barely touched dishes, he asked us if there was a problem. We pointed out that the risotto lacked salt and flavor. He simply took our plates away and went to the kitchen, leaving us with his exact words. I'll tell the chef about it. He never came back, not even to apologize or report what the chef said. And immediately afterward, we were served dessert by another waiter. Honestly, I would have expected someone to approach us and ask for more information. I would have expected the waiter to at least report something to the owner, but nothing happened. Moral of the story: a risotto costing €40, obviously for two people, and no one ate it. Not only was it flavorless, but the dish didn't contain what was listed on the menu. The menu said shellfish risotto, but instead it was an orange cream with no flavor other than cheese. The raw shrimp were fine, and the menu said samphire. Instead, as you can see from the photo, there was only a green creamy sauce, which who knows what it was? It could easily have been a parsley emulsion, since it also had no flavor. I probably wouldn't recommend it, especially if you're not particularly courteous with your customers.

24/03/2026: Sunday lunch for eight on March 22, 2026, reaffirmed and consolidated the excellent impressions and sensations of the previous Sunday lunch on January 25, 2026, at your restaurant. The atmosphere was welcoming, warm, and relaxing, and obviously a perfect preparation for an explosion of tastes, flavors, and vibrations that released a powerful dose of endorphins that developed into a sweet panacea. We were taken care of by the talented, professional, and friendly Emanuela, who looked after us until the end. For lunch on January 25, 2026, we were looked after by Giorgia, Emanuela's excellent colleague, who was professionally top-notch. Add to this the friendliness, courtesy, and sweetness, as well as the excellent dishes—the best you could ask for (the cacio e pepe pasta). It's a delirium of culinary bliss, definitely worth trying.
