I had lunch at Corte dei Simonari on April 19th. I was impressed by the location, which perfectly reflects our Salento cuisine. The owner and staff were very kind and knowledgeable. Their traditional cuisine has nothing to do with the shoddy quality we often find in trattorias today, but is instead the epitome of Salento art, respect for food, and the celebration of simple flavors. It stems from the peasant tradition of creating nutritious meals with few ingredients, often found in reclaimed land or locally sourced. Corte dei Simonari's cuisine is recognized as a form of sustainable fine dining, beloved for its authenticity and homey flavor. Bravo! 👏❤️

A magical place and an unforgettable experience.
The owner, who is also the chef, is very welcoming and offers refined local cuisine, prepared with passion and authenticity.
I've been there in both summer and winter. In winter, the dishes simmer in the fireplace, in terracotta pots, which gives them an exceptional flavor and an old-fashioned charm.
I rediscovered all the flavors of my childhood, those of my mother and my family.
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to enjoy a truly authentic gastronomic experience in the Salento region.

A great, typically Salento place. All the traditional Salento dishes are excellent and reminiscent of the dishes my grandmother and mother used to prepare. The atmosphere evokes the atmosphere of times gone by, when people gathered for events and ceremonies, when restaurants were few and far between. The chef is excellent, and all the staff are friendly and polite. Prices are in line with the quality of the food. The wine list is comprehensive, with a focus on local wines, but also includes wines from other regions. Well done!

I was recently there and was speechless at the quality of the place and the food prepared with care and so much love. I found the staff so courteous and the chef truly top-notch. What more can I say? I'll definitely be back.

We, a group of eight, went there for the first time because we saw great advertising on social media. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The service was really poor; they had no knowledge of wine, and some items were forgotten in our order, which can happen. The waitstaff was unhelpful and unfriendly. The food is difficult to rate. The appetizer was very good, but some of the main courses were almost entirely unusable and had to be sent back. We had to find out for dessert ourselves, so someone would tell us what it would be. Everything took so long, which isn't ideal when you have children with you. We also expected the food to be cooked over an open fire and for the chef to be present, as shown in the videos. We drove a long way specifically for this place and were left disappointed. We unfortunately won't be coming back.

The atmosphere of the Court, the prompt and impeccable service, and the old-fashioned Italian cuisine make everything incredibly unique.

A wonderful discovery just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a culinary experience from another era!!!
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, super friendly!!! The chef is often in the dining room, whipping up cacio e pepe right at your table.

Sunday lunch for eight on March 22, 2026, reaffirmed and consolidated the excellent impressions and sensations of the previous Sunday lunch on January 25, 2026, at your restaurant.
The atmosphere was welcoming, warm, and relaxing, and obviously a perfect preparation for an explosion of tastes, flavors, and vibrations that released a powerful dose of endorphins that developed into a sweet panacea. We were taken care of by the talented, professional, and friendly Emanuela, who looked after us until the end. For lunch on January 25, 2026, we were looked after by Giorgia, Emanuela's excellent colleague, who was professionally top-notch.
Add to this the friendliness, courtesy, and sweetness, as well as the excellent dishes—the best you could ask for (the cacio e pepe pasta). It's a delirium of culinary bliss, definitely worth trying. The open-view preparation deserves special attention.
