09/01/2025: Tried it after various recommendations, for a dinner with colleagues. Pleasantly impressed by the quality of the cuisine and service. Although it is in a difficult location to reach, it is absolutely worth going there. Highly recommended.

30/11/2024: Se cercate un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile dove il pesce è il protagonista assoluto, il ristorante Franz a Formigliana (Vc) è il luogo che fa per voi. Questo ristorante offre un ambiente accogliente e raffinato, ma anche una qualità del cibo che è semplicemente senza pari. Ogni piatto a base di pesce che ho assaggiato era fresco e preparato con una maestria che lascia senza parole. Dalle cruditè di pesce alle capesante gratinate, passando per la paella o la zuppa di pesce, la ricciola avvolta nella foglia del cavolo verza e la grigliata mista, ogni boccone era un'esplosione di sapori. La presentazione dei piatti è eseguita a regola d’arte, rendendo l'esperienza gastronomica ancora più piacevole. Il servizio è impeccabile, il signor Franz estremamente cordiale e attento, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta con un sorriso. La conoscenza del menu e dei vini è impressionante, e sa consigliare abbinamenti perfetti per ogni portata. Nel ristorante vi è un'atmosfera calda e rilassante. L'alta qualità del cibo e del servizio confluisce in prezzi assolutamente ragionevoli. Ogni euro speso qui vale assolutamente la pena per la qualità dell'esperienza complessiva. In sintesi, Franz è una gemma nel mondo della ristorazione di pesce. Pari ad ogni ristorante pluristellato. Un posto dove ogni pasto diventa un ricordo prezioso. Non vedo l'ora di ritornarci.

Good ideas and combinations even if in some cases the taste remains a little flat and does not exalt the palate. Critical note on desserts. If you are not a chocolate lover you have no alternatives. 28/01/2025: January 2025 Before starting the review I read other people's reviews, I start with the worst and then the best as usual, what can I say, there are some great characters. I've been going to the place occasionally for years, today I decided to write a review, it more than rightly deserves it. Fabio is a person who is not a restaurateur for work, but for passion and he behaves as such. He admits if he makes mistakes and is always open to discussion, unfortunately he has the misfortune that in an attempt to be a cook I bother him about some recipe. He has chosen a local cuisine that he interprets and cooks with passion, he is keen to drink well and therefore offers his customers a very varied wine list. When he has the time he willingly passes between the tables for a chat, with the risk of my harassment.

02/09/2024: Stunning refuge under Monte Rosa and a very nice and super welcoming manager. The food is excellent!!! Tapulone with polenta to try! One of the best lodges I've ever visited. A true mountain refuge. To return.

26/01/2025: We had never been here but it seemed like a nice place so we thought (badly) of organizing a birthday dinner with ten people. Fairly good food, not very generous portions, exaggerated prices. Example: a plate of panissa 17 euros (plus a three euro supplement because we asked to divide it into two plates) 4 euros per person, 30 euros to cut the cake that we brought (the cutting of the cake itself cost more), without asking us they made us find water on the table and charged it to us. When it was time to pay we were presented with a hand-scrawled invoice with the total and told us to make do on our own to divide the amount between us. After half an hour with the menu in hand trying to understand who had to pay what, we asked for separate accounts so they took the total and divided it by ten (so we were capable too) so we found ourselves with a bill of 45 euros each and someone had only consumed a first course and a glass of water. Some of us didn't have enough cash but the manager informed us that they had already deactivated the POS They definitely won't see us again, people like that deserve to close.

14/12/2024: Una cena presso questo rinomato ristorante di famiglia cittadino e’ un vero percorso di sapori coinvolgenti, in un progressivo concerto di piatti all’insegna di armonie e contrasti. Abbiamo potuto emozionarci con il loro Menù 7*: menzione speciale ai tre risotti preparati per noi tra la ventina di tipologie disponibili in carta. Vercelli è il riso e i Costardi Bros sanno fare onore al protagonista del territorio. Una splendida esperienza di cucina gourmet che ha saputo confermare le nostre aspettative.

Everything perfect from the small initial appetizer to the dessert, with a great balance of high quality raw materials, flavors and colors in between, not to mention the risottos that you are truly spoiled for choice... Impeccable service with Mrs. Cinzia who makes you feel at ease and gives that sense of familiarity, and the friendly and very professional chefs... Wonderful experience absolutely worth going there

08/02/2025: Ristorantino piccolo ma meraviglioso. L'oste è una signora simpatica, ironica e competente, e il servizio è attentissimo. Menù vario e ottima varietà e qualità dei cibi. Pane e grissini vengono serviti caldi, il tutto rinfrescato da un'ottima bottiglia consigliata dalla padrona di casa. Consigliatissimo

15/09/2024: From the street it seemed smaller, but the place is nice and spacious and clean, the girl behind the counter is definitely very friendly and nice. I also drank excellent coffee, a good assortment of sweet and savory products.

The quality of the food is unquestionable, the service is attentive but not intrusive, the environment is spacious and welcoming. Even though I have been frequenting the area for some time now, I was unaware of this beautiful reality, if you are in the area treat yourself to a pampering, you will be looking forward to returning.
