In a beautifully renovated old farmhouse overlooking the main road, the restaurant is a refined, rustic setting, very pleasant. Beautiful table linens, everything beautifully set out. The service is good, precise and courteous, and as soon as you sit down, they bring a basket to the table with several varieties of excellent breads and breadsticks, as well as a few small tastings.
I had a good veal with tuna sauce and tried three first courses: the risotto creamed in the shape of a "Piemontesino" is decidedly superior, the agnolotti are good, but the gnocchi are a no-brainer (too many ingredients that kill each other). The desserts are good, and the price is fair.

For women who choose to dine at this establishment, they'll have the unfortunate inconvenience of not knowing how much they'll have to pay... until the bill is printed.
In fact, in a very sexist manner (and based solely on physical appearance), menus with prices are handed out only to male diners.
It's a shame, because the choice creates a certain amount of embarrassment at the table, given that in 2026, women aren't kept in the same household and expect to read the prices of the products they buy.
It's time for an update.
Traditional dishes like panissa and reinterpretations presented with a modern flair. Tasty plating.

Beautiful atmosphere, incredibly kind and helpful staff, and the dishes are always better than the last—going to Balin is always a unique experience. The owner comes over every time to greet customers and welcome everyone. From the first time we went, after hearing nothing but praise, we've become regulars. Special praise goes to the special suckling pig they make (I didn't get a photo of it, but we bit into it right away).
Even the breadsticks and bread/focaccia they bring us are always delicious, unique, and come in a variety of flavors. Everyone is happy, and they tend to bring them back when they see the basket starting to empty. They also take special care in clearing crumbs from the table when it's time for dessert.

A truly delicious lunch! As soon as you enter, you're greeted by a refined and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the food is excellent. It's the perfect place to sample traditional Piedmontese dishes made with high-quality ingredients. I'll definitely be back!
