11/10/2025: Wow!!! My parents have always told me about this place, and I finally got to try it...a delight!!! Quality snails, mushroom pappardelle, and polenta were the best I've ever tasted. The young and very kind waiters. I'll definitely be back.

11/10/2025: You can't visit Domodossola and the surrounding area without stopping by the Gallo Nero restaurant. A delightful discovery. Absolutely recommended. I've found such attentive service in few places.

22/09/2025: Very good value for money, the seats are nice and soft and comfortable, ideal for those with sore backs! The food was very good, as was the wine. Only the digital menu still has a few teething issues.

11/10/2025: A truly delightful and unusual, even courageous, idea. A wide variety of menus, high prices, but that's not necessarily the manager's fault (operating costs have become insane throughout Italy), a super central location, and a creatively decorated restaurant with a distinctive character. I ordered a carbonara but didn't find the pleasure of the famous dish. For my personal taste, the dish was too salty, and the carbocrema was very unbalanced and sticky. I also tried the braised potato, a nice idea, but again, too salty. But I emphasize: I can't call the dish salty; in all honesty, it's overkill for my personal tastes. Can I recommend this place? No. Read my review and try to decide whether you like balanced dishes or prefer robust flavors.

The cuisine is of the highest quality, with a menu featuring classics that respect tradition in flavor but are presented with a modern twist. Vegetarian options are also available. The service is attentive and formal without being pushy, and the descriptions of the dishes are excellent. The wine list is extensive, and a welcome olive oil tasting is offered. The prices are moderately high, but for the quality of the food, they're more than reasonable. Special mention goes to the braised octopus and the marrow and porcini mushroom risotto—they're worth the experience!

05/10/2025: I'm sorry, I would have liked to give even fewer stars. I gave it 3 stars because the people who work there are very nice, but otherwise I had some concerns that I hope you'll take as advice for improvement and not as a negative criticism. I'd already been to this place for dinner and had a great time, but today we went for Sunday lunch and I was disappointed. The first thing I didn't like was that when I made my phone reservation, I specifically asked to have lunch outside (given the beautiful day, I really wanted to stay outside since it was the last day the weather still allowed). We arrived and they put us inside. I pointed out that I had asked over the phone to sit outside and they told me that when I called, the room was completely occupied. At the last minute, a table became available and they put us inside. The waitress basically explained to me that we could use the outside area to enjoy a dessert or coffee. It bothered me because if they had told me honestly over the phone, I would have opted for another restaurant because we really wanted to eat out given the beautiful day. Second important point: At the table, I asked for a glass of a fruity white wine and was told they didn't have any. It seems absurd to me, with all those bottles on display, not to have a simple fruity white wine (not even one). I would have even asked for the bottle, but nothing, I honestly find it absurd. For the rest, there were small flaws in the service, with too much waiting, but I understand that; there were only 2 people in the dining room. The food wasn't as good as last time. We ordered a platter of cold cuts and cheeses, unfortunately not good (at least for my taste). The 3 types of cheeses were all too strong in flavor, and the cold cuts had a particular flavor. Unfortunately, I didn't like them, and they didn't even explain them to me when we arrived at the table, but again, that must have been my personal taste. My honest impression is that they want to It gives the impression of a refined place but it is not reflected in general, small things to fix that could make it better such as changing the cutlery rests which are all discoloured and also changing the menus which are ruined by the wear and tear of time I think.

04/10/2025: We had dinner here last night. The very kind waitress recommended their pizza of the month, and I have to say, she couldn't have recommended it better. A wonderful culinary experience that we highly recommend. The restaurant is meticulously maintained, Food prepared with high-quality ingredients and the staff is truly super friendly. Highly recommended!!

14/09/2025: I bought gelato from Livia to take to a friend's house: it was a success. We tried classic flavors like "Grandma Pina's cream" and pistachio, which showcased the excellent quality of the ingredients, as well as more original flavors like the delicate fig and a cow's milk ricotta enriched with candied fruit, pistachios, and chocolate, which proved to be a true delight. LIVIA'S GELATO IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, a perfect blend of dedication and top-quality ingredients.
