11/03/2025: A fairytale place in the countryside outside Milan. A paradise for those who want to enjoy completely plant-based dishes, whether they are vegetarians/vegans, but also omnivores. The menu is limited but don't worry, it's worth letting yourself be guided by the chef. Prices that will leave you stunned (in a positive way) given that in my area they are impossible to find for meals of this quality. Highly recommended!!!! An extra vote for the well-stocked library which is simply splendid to look at.
11/03/2025: Very suggestive place in a hilly village all made of stone, we will certainly return on a Sunday for lunch to enjoy the landscape. Simple and genuine vegan dishes, presented with great care. Run entirely by the owners who clearly love what they do, inspiring!

07/03/2025: Il locale che, magari, non ti aspetti. E invece, fin dal bel giardino d’ingresso, tutto qui funziona a meraviglia. La bellissima sala (col camino acceso), la cordialità di Francesca e Sergio (i titolari), le sapienti mani di Michela, sorella di Francesca, in cucina. Mamma Piera che ancora sovrintende. Perfetta la carta dei vini (loro sono sommeliers), tipico e gustosissimo il menù che spazia tra tutti i prodotti dell’Oltrepo con un perfetto grado di rivisitazione. Per noi il “cappuccino” al tartufo nero, l’insalata di testina, agnolotti al sugo d’arrosto, merluzzo croccante con cipolle locali. Straordinaria la scoperta di un bianco , Riesling Italico, di 13,5 gradi. Da qui, con 45€, si esce sempre col sorriso (ah, anche pani e grissini sono fatti da loro!)
28/02/2025: Hotel managed with courtesy, professionalism and incredible care for the guest. You can dine with delicious traditional dishes (even generous portions) which aim to enhance the cuisine and raw materials of the area. A glass of wine is a must (they don't flaunt their awards but they have quite a few). The wonderful thing is that you can also do takeaway and so you can take home some of what you liked (obviously free parking nearby). Also be careful not to waste (so you can take away what you don't eat e.g. the apple, the brioche - homemade). Amazing quality/price ratio! Ps) I'm also attaching photos of the salad because it cheered up my evening and the takeaway package because it's truly wonderful

18/03/2025: It's been years since I left a lunch so satisfied. Trattoria Righini gave me one of the most memorable experiences in the Pavia area, if not in Italy, and I will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. A place that seems to have stopped in time, becoming a true rarity in the Italian gastronomic panorama. The menu is fixed and prepare to arrive very hungry! There are about ten appetizers, and the quantity is equal to the quality: all excellent, but honorable mention goes to the lard, cotechino and raw meat - simply incredible. We continue with three first courses: the ravioli with braised meat and those with pecorino and ricotta, homemade, tell the story of the skill of the kitchen at first taste. The artichoke risotto, despite not being a favorite of mine, amazed me with its balance and attention to flavors. The second courses? Four different meats with potatoes. More applause, but the rabbit deserves special praise. When you think it's time for dessert, a refreshing sorbet arrives and... the polenta trolley. I chose it with Gorgonzola and figs: I've never eaten such good cooked figs. The final dessert did nothing but confirm how super this place is: homemade cake with top-quality mascarpone and amazing vanilla ice cream. A non-trivial note: you can ask for seconds, and the staff will be very happy to hear how much you appreciate their products. All this goodness, with house wine, coffee and bitters, for only 40 euros per person. To make everything even more beautiful, let's talk about the staff: smiling, passionate and in love with this unique trattoria. You can feel how much they care about making their passion for the territory and tradition felt. I hope this review conveys the enthusiasm I felt, everyone should have a similar experience, rustic at the right point but authentic. As a lover of good food, Trattoria Righini will always have a special place.

24/02/2025: Ca' di Ratt - Mangià de sciôr On the nostalgic notes of "Io vagabondo" you could find yourself one day in a remote rural village (apparently) like many others in the Vigevano area, but this idea immediately passes over you if you look around, along its streets lined with reproductions of famous works of art. Following the latter in a narrow street in the centre, you come across a colourful, unexpected period courtyard and the entrance to the restaurant, with a typically Lombard name, and with its portico which introduces you directly to the interior, but with a wooden door which still hides everything from you, leaving room for a final act of mystery and surprise to your imagination. Inside, Stefano and his father at the counter welcome you more than affably, while in the kitchen the family is completed with sister and mother; Three rooms visually await you in front of you which, with materials and colors (combined with the probably intentional "dim" lighting), take you back in time, suggesting the original peasant architecture, with entablatures and not very high ceilings. All the contents of the à la carte menu (which is periodically revisited) are particular, and with flavors of bygone eras. The aromatic Ippocrasso wine is certainly noteworthy: red version for cheeses and desserts, white version for pairing with desserts. The cutting boards, metro or smaller ones, feature local or national cured meats and cheeses. The first courses are presented with tagliatelle or spaghettoni, with house or venison ragù. For those who want to immerse themselves in the surrounding environments, the risotto with gorgonzola and porcini mushrooms is certainly worth tempting. The second courses enthrall you with wild boar or pork with an ancient flavour, accompanied by spices, baked potatoes and porcini mushrooms here too. If you don't want to forget anything about the poor art in the kitchen, you can request polenta concia, which has its origins in Piedmont, Lombardy and Val d'Aosta by throwing in toma, gorgonzola and fontina. The recommended wine is a red and organic Bufnìs, IGT, from 2019 (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc vines). What about desserts? Suffer or try? I would say give it a try, if you are still physically fit after the above (the portions are certainly not small)!!! You can start from the tart (with plum jam), moving on to the cakes (with amaretto and Grand Marnier, or cocoa with cream, coconut and rum). Along the lines of a fried egg, you are instead treated to a succulent panna cotta with berries. As a first-time guest, I can only give a positive expression to everything, the environmental scenography and the food. Definitely worth trying again and more calmly, to be able to fully enjoy the combination just mentioned offered by the very cordial family management. Only note, without knowing the underlying reasons for their creation: the toilets should be presented in a form more suited to the convenience of all types of customers who arrive, to fully adapt to what is offered in other respects.
09/02/2025: On a rainy Sunday, chance brought us to this very characteristic place. Warm and welcoming environment, fireplace lit, well-composed and varied menu. The Byzantine soup and the pomegranate cheeks and, in the end, biscuits with white seahorse are highly recommended

17/02/2025: Excellent little restaurant in the heart of Pavia, perfect for a tasty lunch break or a nice dinner. Very beautiful environment, the feeling is that of being in a place suspended between the "traditional" and the modern. Modern because the sandwiches and other dishes offer unexpected but very good combinations. I recommend the “Giulia” sandwich. I noticed truly top quality ingredients, carefully chosen and prepared practically before my eyes. Very kind and professional staff. The desserts are also delicious, I recommend the "birramisu". Really a great discovery, I recommend it!

Particular environment, it seems like taking a trip back in time. An absolutely must-do experience, you eat at the home of strange people who make you feel at home.

20/03/2025: Trattoria of an insane rarity now. The place is located on the second floor of a hotel and is large and bright. We took the dishes of the day. Very tasty and with a really excellent quality-price ratio. 13€ complete menu. The quail was very tender. We will recommend it to friends and we can't wait to return. Great Giuse!

The manager is an elderly gentleman who knows what he is doing, is kind and knows how to welcome customers politely. Cuisine with not extensive choices and adequate for the staff available to maintain a notable level of quality. Wine list with a prevalence of local proposals. Since this is beyond, there is something to be satisfied with. It's a place I've put on the agenda for a return. Advised!

Stefano, the beating heart of this little jewel, is at the same time chef, waiter, dishwasher and host and masterfully transforms the freshest ingredients into authentic culinary works of art. Here the cuisine is truly expressive: choose the tagliatelle and Stefano rolls the pastry on the spot; you order tuna carpaccio and see it sliced ​​directly from the fresh slice; ask for ice cream and they serve it to you straight out of the ice cream maker. Every bite is a surprise, thanks to a menu that combines creativity and refinement with original and never predictable combinations. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy, with very few seats to guarantee an attentive and personalized service. The quality of the raw materials and attention to detail are reflected in a price that is absolutely adequate for the experience. If you are looking for a place to feel pampered, savor extraordinary dishes and experience a dinner out of the ordinary, Glass Bistrot is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!
