29/09/2025: Something has gotten out of hand... probably the large influx of tourists with deep pockets ascending to Brunate by funicular or taxi has meant that even these types of huts, considered rustic and the preserve of a few hikers until 15-20 years ago, are now enjoying a golden age, boasting menus priced like those of a downtown restaurant. Prices that would be partially justified if the refuge were located at 2,000 meters with no access road, but I repeat, "anything goes"... good for them while it lasts... :-)

27/07/2025: Shabby but charming with an absolutely ~spectacular~ view, and ok breakfast as well. For me the smell (especially in the toilettes) and the rats in the walls are the reasons we won’t be coming back.

13/12/2025: Zero is not allowed. 12/12/2025 Booked and confirmed 2 weeks in advance, we arrive, door open, dark and cold, no one present. On the phone they deny the reservation, a terrible impression with the guests. There is a limit to everything, even decency. You are pitiful.

18/11/2025: The ice cream tastes like lake water, completely tasteless, and the chocolate cone is soft and tastes like wood, probably sitting there too long. For the location of the ice cream shop, the quality of the ingredients is seriously lacking. Not recommended!!!!

07/02/2026: STAND AWAY !!! I showed up at this hotel for check-in a little before 2am on a Sunday in July 2024. There I was met with a closed gate with no way to get in for check-in. I have my own car and it is almost impossible to park in the narrow street by the hotel, but I was able to temporarily park in the driveway of a neighbor of the hotel. The hotel is located within a fenced area with a large metal gate and it cannot be opened from the outside and it is therefore not possible to enter either by car or on foot. There is no poster or other information at the gate on how to contact the hotel. The hotel looks completely uninhabited and the neighbor with whom I parked said that there were nonsensical and problematic conditions there. I then called the hotel manager on the number listed on Booking.com and was told that check-in had to be done in the city center at another hotel and that that was the only option I had. To get to this hotel you have to drive through impassable narrow streets with masses of tourists and I told the host that this was out of the question and that he had to show up at the hotel so that I could check in normally. Important: There is no place in the hotel information that it says that check-in should be several kilometers away from the hotel. He refused to come to the hotel to check in there and I therefore had to just leave and find another hotel. This matter is in my opinion completely incomprehensible. I have been on vacation in Europe now for almost four weeks but have never come close to this behavior from a hotel host. STEER AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL !!

15/01/2026: The staff were very friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered the mortadella pizza, and with our Aperol Spritzes, they brought us some potatoes and pieces of bread with cheese and tomato (on the house)... a really nice touch! Highly recommended! 👏🏼

23/12/2025: I discovered Caveja about six years ago. I tried it and fell in love...the first time I saw a piadina with a meat burger...and it was delicious! Unfortunately, I returned in December 2025, and the piadina has gone downhill considerably. The burgers are no longer made with red meat, and the quality is poor. The place, which used to be well-kept, is now filled with cooking smoke, a greasy TV, and little attention to cleanliness. I hope to be able to edit the review.

16/10/2025: Really bad food. Overpriced and couldn't pay by card - only found out after we had eaten. Awful service that took our plates before we had finished. To date the worst experience in beautiful Italy. We will NOT be back.

15/10/2025: The tomme alla griglia was burnt on top, the lettuce was wilted and there was very little of it. Friendliness is a foreign word there. The owner's comment on the phone was very disrespectful to tourists. We recommend giving it a wide berth!

23/11/2025: I stayed in room 106 for two nights. The hotel was excellent and clean, the room was clean, and the staff, Mahmoud (Egyptian) and Suzi (Tunisian), were friendly, courteous, and hospitable. The breakfast was wonderful. It's conveniently located near the city center, overlooks the lake, and is next to the metro and bus stations, and opposite a Carrefour supermarket.

09/11/2025: It is hard to believe that a gorgonzola hotel exist in Italy and this one is vecchio borgo. I stayed in 102 room and the smell of mold was terrible. I slept with the window open widly, even outside were 10 degree. Terrible hotel, should be closed because is insanely dangerous to health. Never again there.

12/08/2025: Tout était fermé, nous avons donc été jusque là.. CATASTROPHE !! - les serveurs ne voient rien, j’ai dû appeler à plusieurs reprises pour qu’on vienne prendre ma commande. - les pâtes étaient basiques mais pas de fromage ou un morceau de pain pour accompagner les plats. - les spritz étaient à moitié remplis et à mon avis coupés de moitié à l’eau L’attrape touriste dans sa splendeur, dommage car le cadre est super

13/01/2026: We've been strolling around Como, everything is beautiful, but we decided to stop at this bar for a drink and something to eat, and honestly, I have to say the service was terrible. The waitress served us very rudely. When we told her what we wanted to eat, she got annoyed and was incredibly impolite. She didn't even serve us the food we ordered; she just threw it on the table. I noticed she treated everyone the same way—zero friendliness, zero respect for people. Everything was awful. If anyone reads this, I suggest you avoid this bar altogether. It's not worth it! People like this drive tourism away! It's a shame for such a beautiful town as Como.

11/01/2026: The food and location were okay, but the service was terrible: we ordered two sandwiches, a Sprite, and a Coke Zero. The waitress brought regular Coke. I told her, and she changed. With the lasagna, she said, "I'll bring you the bread now," stopped to take other orders, and then forgot (the place wasn't even full). I asked for a menu to order something else, she brought it to me, then disappeared, and I had to go inside to look for it. Lots of smart young people are looking for work as waiters: give the job to someone who can connect two brain cells together, thanks.
