05/07/2026: Restaurant nestled in the countryside, just steps from the source of the Lambro River. A welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always smiling. We ordered a mix of cold cuts and cheeses, polenta uncia (a type of polenta with porcini mushrooms), and to finish, a tart with blueberry jam: everything was exceptional! The final bill was super reasonable! We'll definitely be back!

07/04/2026: Good evening, I was with my boyfriend on Easter Monday, a typically chaotic day with limited availability. However, this cannot allow for the following shortcomings. We arrived at the location (1:25 PM), which from the outside is very beautiful and rustic, characteristic of the area, with a small but welcoming interior and family-run restaurant. We were welcomed by kind but completely disorganized waitresses, with a 10-minute wait for a table with no number. There was a complete lack of a paper menu, hastily dictated by the waitress without explanation or price (and some of the dishes were missing). We ordered a plate of penne and tortelloni with cream of porcini mushrooms, both, and for the main course, a double plate of polenta with venison (1 large Moretti beer and 1 Coke). The pasta was served (2:20 PM) straight out of the pan, with the service being too rushed. The pasta was al dente and completely lacking in salt. The second course, served a while after the first (3:15 PM), was quite good, but due to the wait, we almost lost our appetite. We waited fifteen minutes to pay for the bill, spending 70 euros, without dessert and with a cover charge for only two people. This caused us inconvenience due to the lack of internet connection and the card payment system not working. We left at 3:45 PM, the wait was too long due to the lack of staff and professionalism. It was an experience we won't repeat, with the price being excessive for the service received. The reviews have been the same for a long time, and the lack of improvement despite the criticism makes everything worse.

01/05/2026: It's a tourist trap; they grab your hand to make you eat. I absolutely do not recommend it. I ordered a Milanese cutlet that wasn't cooked; the chicken was raw. My family ordered a Caesar salad that wasn't either. Just chicken and lettuce! I definitely do not recommend it!

01/04/2026: I don't know exactly what happened to this pizzeria over the years, perhaps it changed management. I called to order takeout pizzas, and they laughed and couldn't understand which pizza I'd chosen, as if I'd made some strange request (a north-south one, as per the menu). The pizza wasn't good at all, starting with the dough, let alone the ingredients. Plus, the pizzeria was empty on a Saturday night, a sign that it's definitely gone downhill.

11/06/2026: It was very Tastey, and our host/waitress was very kind and attentive. The prices are quite alright as well. And right next to the train station. I highly recommend

19/07/2026: Aside from the girl's embarrassing kindness and the fast service (but you have to eat everything quickly, single-flavor fried foods that all taste like fish, and the pizza). We weren't happy with the dough, which was rubbery; when we booked, we asked to watch the World Cup final, but the TV wouldn't connect (we ended up watching it on our cell phone), and despite the outdoor seating, it was scorching hot. Furthermore, after we handed over our written order, they forgot one pizza.

22/03/2026: An hour and twenty minutes for a first course, which was repeatedly requested. The rudeness of the owner is incredible. More people were returning the dishes which arrived late. Tables were drinking coffee on one side and waiting for the first courses on the other. I will never return.

23/05/2026: We were on vacation and ate at El Merendero. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. There were four of us, but the food arrived every 10 minutes. Everyone practically had to eat alone. First, my son's fries arrived, then about 10 minutes later, my wife's bruschetta. Another 10 minutes later, my son's spaghetti arrived, but it was the wrong kind. After that, we had to wait again. Last, I received my dish, which consisted of cold eggplant and zucchini. The meat was so tough it was almost impossible to chew. We have rarely experienced such poor organization and quality. Very disappointing.

03/06/2026: The property and gardens of the grand hotel tremezzo where the restaurant is located are extremely pretty. The restaurant is good but honestly not extremely good which you may expect for EUR 250 per person exclusing drinks. The views and location do make up for much.

25/04/2026: We thoroughly enjoyed a 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings! Wonderful! Superb service, excellent food with a magnificent view of Lake Como.

10/07/2026: The lake view was excellent, there couldn't be any surprises, in fact, you can get it from the street. We booked for 1:00 PM, just enough time to sit down, and we were already in a hurry because the kitchen closed at 1:30, after which the ordeal began. You couldn't put down a plate because they'd take it away with no respect for those still eating. Never order coffee. The person serving, whom I then paid the bill for, was completely unpleasant. Try it and believe it. Dirty chairs, table under a tree with no cover, with green larvae falling off. All the tables were set with dirty tablecloths, evidently waiting for customers, who are perhaps increasingly scarce. From 1:00 PM onward, there was another couple present besides us. Perhaps the Caritas soup kitchen is better. Price: €103.50 Two dried shad, pasta dish, sorbet, coffee left in the undrinkable cup...8 bleak, Tirani ravioli, coffee left to avoid vomiting. Water 2 glasses of still wine.

05/08/2026: High prices for the food served, in fact after dinner we went to eat a pizza, at least if it was gourmet there could have been water more expensive than a Coke and a cover charge of 3.50 per person...

06/06/2026: Very negative experience. This is my third time at this restaurant, and unfortunately, I once again received terrible treatment. I was disappointed by both the quality of the food and the attitude of the staff, particularly a woman in her forties, who was rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I politely asked to replace the pork cold cuts with an alternative, but my request was denied without any consideration for my needs and with an attitude that I found disrespectful toward the customer. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this restaurant.

27/01/2026: Conveniently located hotel for those arriving by car. Clean rooms in good working order. Friendly, helpful staff. For longer stays, the (basic) breakfast buffet offers little variety. The restaurant has a rather small menu in the mid-price range for dinner service. Alternatives are about a 20-minute walk away, but due to the (mostly) non-existent sidewalks and the fast driving of some locals, this might be frightening for some.

04/11/2025: If I could give zero stars, I would! Until over a year ago, it was a nice place, with friendly, smiling, and welcoming people! Over a year ago, it changed management, and the place has become cold... every time you go, something is always missing! Soon, I'm afraid I'll find myself parking out front and not even finding a spot anymore...! The owner, whether he's there or not, practically doesn't change, because politeness doesn't even know where it belongs. And above all, every time you go, if you pay him, you risk getting the same thing over and over again, but with different amounts... It's out of this world!

14/06/2026: Very disappointing experience. Don’t go here. It’s a prime location, but the service and atmosphere were poor. We left before ordering, so I can’t comment on the food. Leaving was already awkward, but staff reacted aggressively, which made the situation genuinely uncomfortable.
