11/04/2026: Excellent Restaurant Meets Beautiful Hotel This hotel was a lifesaver on my motorcycle trip to Tuscany. We had booked our first stay at a different hotel through Booking.com. But when we arrived at 7:30 p.m., there was no one there – a very unpleasant situation. I searched for alternatives using Google Maps and called four hotels – all were fully booked. On my fifth call, to Hotel Castello, a friendly voice answered: "Yes, we still have a room for you." I was delighted – I took it immediately. I arrived around 9:00 p.m., so relatively late. The restaurant was very busy. The pool area between the two buildings – one housing the restaurant, the other additional hotel rooms – was beautifully lit and, although it was only April, already open. The friendly voice from the phone then personally greeted me at reception. She immediately recognized that a quick check-in was needed – and that's exactly how it was done: friendly, quick, and efficient. 10/04/2026: Delicious pizza as always, made with top-notch ingredients. Tonight I had an EXCELLENT sausage pizza, and the different cuts of sausage made it even better. Finally, after having had so many pizzas delivered to my home (always delivered hot, compliments to the pizza delivery driver), I went in person and met the whole LA DAMA pizzeria family. The owner is very friendly, as is all his staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED pizzeria.

12/04/2026: We went to try this restaurant for dinner. It almost feels like eating at home. Lots of tradition and excellent ingredients. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the pappardelle with hare stew, which in my opinion is the best I've ever had. (A generous portion.) As a specialty, they also have carbonara prepared at the table. Next time I'll try that. I recommend it to anyone who wants to travel back in time and tradition!
